Agree. To the viewer, it comes cross as trying to mask his own insecurities by only verbalizing what he thinks Cameron wants to hear or makes him sound “cool,” when in reality, he sounds misogynistic. He needs to focus on his own worth and identity versus trying to live through Cameron.

So I went ahead and checked for you Timmy, your theory on Heidi is VERY possible. Laguna beach season 1 aired on September 28, 2004. Sf school semester is from August until December. So Heidi decided to go to college in sf before laguna beach aired, but I think it’s very possible that Lauren was in one of her classes and once the show aired she was like oh my gosh it’s that girl, and decided to become super close to her to get on the show. Because the 2nd season didn’t start filming until winter break which is December when Lauren decided to move back.
I think this theory also humanizes Lauren even more for me (even though watching this show back as an adult she does irritate me). Here she was a teenager and she wasn’t able to make any “real” friends in college and why she possibly kept a wall up when it came to her The Hills co-stars. She never knew who wanted a storyline/fame and who wanted to be her actual friend. It also makes sense why she never let herself become more than just a work friend to Whitney.
I am so HERE for this level of research and reasoning. Beautiful to behold.
This all makes a lot of sense to me. well said. and yes, this is the level at which the show needs to be considered to pull out the best bits. I'm sending you both tickets to six flags.
Heidi talks about it in an interview that she didn't know who lauren was because she was in Italy or someplace and her mom knew who lauren was and told her to be friends with her

Isn’t it weird that the show focuses so much on Raquel, Cameron, Kyndra and Cami when there are many more people mentioned in the opening credits? We barely see Breanna, Lexie, Kelan and others. And since Tessa is the narrator it’s kind of weird how she vanished since the season started.
I believe they created the intro before the season was solidified so they didn’t know the direction they were going in yet

So I have this thing, known in my household, where my "relaxing dishwashing" days are on nights when these videos are up. I have a few drinks and crack up at these videos while washing dishes. Sometimes I leave Wednesdays dishes just so I can have alone time on Thursdays n Fridays with Whit n Timmy. You guys don't realize how therapeutic you guys are. Thank you! ❤️

I feel kinda bad for Tyler here. I remember how embarrassing it was to find out I was cheated on when I was in high school. I can't imagine what it felt like having every single person know along with it being broadcasted on television. He was probably so angry and just didn't know how to express himself cause almost no one knows how to express themselves fully when they're teenagers.

I love the way Rocky and Tessa hype each other up. I remember that having a positive influence on how I treated my friends/who I hung out with as a young teen. I wanted good vibes only like they had.
feel like Kendra and Cami thought if they acted this way people would just think of them as kind of like Kristen. Kristen didn’t really act like this though. She never seemed truly mean spirited. Also she was usually only angry about being cheated on. :/

Woohoo, so excited for this episode! Love watching this with you guys. Do you know what's crazy, Tyler has done a complete 180, he's now a singer/songwriter, and does busking in Laguna! Crazy, not how I thought his life would turn out.
I can actually see this even in who he is on the show. Busking works for those who go with the flow and don't like to be under someone else's thumb. So long as you have a permit then you can do as you wish. That seems like tyler to me

The reason that the other girls dislike Tessa... Could it have been that they found out that she was going to be narrator / focus before filming started (even that maybe the producers had initially planned to focus on Breanna and then changed their minds)? I feel like if you pay really close attention to all the details with Kyndra and Tyler from the beginning, like the moment kyndra and Cami start talking about him, even before they really introduce him into the show...it sorta seems like kyndra probably keeps sticking with him cause hes super rich. Like i know theyre all rich but Tyler and his sister are obviously really reall rich from shopping talk, their cars (tyler is driving on the first jason scene of season 2), the 500$ tshirt, the fancy house that cami calls "your brothers house" like bot his parents house but his house, the ring he gave kyndra, camis story how he was in boarding school. Possibly how he easily groomed her? Idk just a theory
