As a Cards fan, I have some pretty fond memories haha ... that was some unbelievable clutch hitting, and less than stellar D from Cruz. Great series though
SeñorTortas for the dodgers it would be Blowing the lead in the ninth of the 2017 World Series Or blowing the 4-0 lead going into the 7th in 2018 World Series or just losing back to back World Series
Bobby Thomson home run. That destroyed not only the dodgers but Ralph Branca. The Dodgers had a 13.5 game lead on the Giants but the giants came back and forced a three game playoff and came from behind in the last inning of the last game. Not to mention the giants were probably using a telescope and a buzzer to steal the catcher’s signs. Yeah, I would say that’s the worst loss in anyone’s franchise.
Randy Marsh He didn't kill two people you fuckin idiot. First off, it was never confirmed as to who was driving the boat. Also, 2/3 people aboard the boat, including Jose, were found with cocaine in their systems. Sadly, as much as I feel for the guy who chose not to do the drugs, there is an extremely strong chance that he knew and accepted the fact that the two other men were coked out, from then on its his choice over whether to get in the boat with them. Jose didn't kill anyone, they all just killed themselves.
It appears you're a cubs fan. thanks for not blaming bartman, that whole scenario really pisses me off. i think anyone else would have reached for that ball too in bartman's situation. I don't think alou had a play on that ball anyways.
Jamar Leonard Yes, heaven forbid you try to grab a free souvenir in a playoff game. Alou ruined this man's life (along with thousands of fans ruining his life). Many things to blame in Game 6, but not Steve.
Like I said it's not Bartman fault but I would trade a souvenir for an out in the playoffs any day. Even with 2 outs, we would have still blown this game
Any Detroit tiger fan knows the worst moment was when Galaraga (sorry don't know how to spell his name) was throwing a perfect game and the batter hit an infield grounder and was called safe at first. Worst call in MLB history if you ask me. If you look at a video of it you can clearly see the runner was out.
Huge Tigers fan here. I care way more about losing championships than a blown call on a perfect game. The blown call sucked at the time, but it's way easier to get over that than a blown chance at a World Series
Michael Higer I mean it's not the first or last time we've blown a chance at the World Series. Very few pitchers every experience a no hitter. And for the call to have been so bad. That's just the worse.
princess Mo I'm not a Tigers fan but a huge baseball fan and I agree that should be in the video but Jim Joyce (first base umpire) admitted his mistake after the game. No reason to still be sour about it
Alou wouldn't have caught that ball, no matter how much his ensuing tantrum might have led you to believe. He even admitted at one point that he wouldn't have. It really does piss me off that Cubs fans sent another Cubs fan into hiding. You're lying to yourself if you wouldn't have reached for that ball too.
Brannon H most cubs fans including me have kinda forgiven Bartman. he was just listening to the game with his headphones and saw a ball coming to him and caught it. anyone would have done the same
As a Mets fan, I really think Beltran taking strike 3 was worse. I mean by that time in the series, I think we all knew deep down we were getting outplayed, and it was the Royals' time. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt, but Beltran looking still makes me tear up. Also, that 2006 team never got back to the playoffs. This Mets team still can win it all with the same players. Just my opinion though.
Honestly as a big Met's fan I wasn't upset that lost the World Series because I was surprised that they made it in that year, and it was the greatest feeling actually seeing them in a World Series for the first time in my lifetime. (I was only 1 when they played in 2000). 2006 was what hurt me the most because Beltran was one of my favorite players growing up.
Cards fan here. I really do feel bad for Texas, they've had some solid teams year after year but have just had some tough luck. If the Cardinals don't make it into the postseason it's likely that I'll be cheering on the Rangers. Best of luck to you guys.
The Marlins one caught me by surprise and struck me right in the heart. It is true, and the despair felt by this community, this team, and his family that day and ever since is unknowable. Thank you.
Pretty good list. I think you missed on 2 of them though: 1. I think the Mets worst moment was losing to the Cardinals in the 2006 NLCS. The Mets were heavy favorites. The last out of Beltran taking a called third strike with the bases loaded was far more devastating than Game 5 of the 2015 World Series. 2. For the Dodgers, I think it should have been Bobby Thomson's home run off of Ralph Branca. It was and still is an iconic moment. Honorable mention: Maybe the Astros loss against the Phillies in the 1980 NLCS surpasses their ALDS loss to the Royals. The Astros had a 5-run lead in the 8th inning with Nolan Ryan on the mound, and they lost in probably the best postseason series ever. Just my 2 cents.
I think that the 1988 NLCS was just as bad, if not worse for the Mets, As bad as the Thomson home run was, the 1952 World Series was a blown 3-2 lead, they were playing the Yankees who always beat then in the WS and they never won the Series and not a play-in series clincher, so that would be worse. I would argue too that the 1986 NLCS was just as bad for Houston.
Mets were truly beat in that series, that wasn't like they blew it, Wainwright's curve was really good (supposedly at the time the best in the game as Kershaw hadn't arrived on the scene yet).
@@wpreston86 The Shot happened with the Dodgers leading by 2 in the bottom of the 9th in the deciding game of a tiebreaker series... I think that's more devastating imo
@@mg-jf5ld I think this list had to do more with on-field stuff. Lyman Bostock bring shot and killed in 1978 in my opinion was much worse than Skaggs’ passing
Don't forget the whole team still had game 7 to redeem themselves but they couldn't. Nelson Cruz sucked harder on Freese's triple and he doesn't get much blame, I wish Red Sox fans had treated Buckner the same way.
yeah -- must have been real hard after just starting to watch the royals in october of 2014 to see them lose a world series. royals fans bandwagoned SOOOOOO hard that year, it was ridiculous.
This was the 1952 Series. The Dodgers never won a Series and blew a 3-2 lead to their rival, the Yankees. The Shot Heard 'Round the World was the third game of a three game playoff to see who would get into the Series. I thin they were closer in 1952, so I say 1952 was worse.
probably would have chosen the end of the 2014 world series for the Royals. we were 90 feet away from tying the game, and the heartbreak of not coming through was pretty painful. winning it all in 2015 eased the pain, no doubt, but it was just heartbreaking at the time. nice video. love seeing all the old clips
Paul K ya know, as a UNC fan, i can relate exactly to what you said. we got our hearts shattered by Nova but came back the next year and won it all. the redemption is a really good feeling
I agree that the loss in 2014 was harder for Royals fans. Besides which the Yankees were beating everybody back when the clip they used occurred, late 1970s.
Paul K, still think they should've sent Alex Gordon. I'd give him at least a 50/50 chance of scoring on that play. With Bumgarner pitching what % chance did you give Perez to drive him in on the next at bat? 10%. That would've been the most epic finish ever to a World Series. Either tie it on an inside the park homer, or get thrown out at the plate to end a world series.
I thought after you guys beat my Mariners that year there was no way you were going to lose, of course taking into consideration what else had gone on in the city. Just seemed like they were the team of destiny that year. Was really shocked that AZ pulled it off.
I may not like the Yankees, but to me, Luis Gonzalez hitting that squibber past Mariano Rivera is the worst moment in Major League Baseball History, simply because of 9/11. After 9/11, it didn't matter how much you hated the Yankees, because you were rooting for New York City. To me, Luis Gonzalez is worse than Osama bin Laden.
How is that relevant to what he was saying? The Giants that year were a force to be reckoned with that came back from huge series deficits in the DS and CS. I don't think anyone was all that shocked to see the Tigers lose, we just all thought the Tigers would put up more of a fight.
As a giants fan, while its easy to remember the championships from 2010, 2012, 2014, i still have a hard time dealing with that game 6 collapse vs the angels. I will never get over that one
I'm a rangers fan. I have bad memories of game six of the world series :(. also I thought the yankees moment would be when Gonzalez hit a walk off single to win the world series for the diamondbacks
fullhousefrek well the moment they chose was when their rivals the red sox came back from a 0 games to 3 in the alcs. Its the first time a team ever came back from behing behind 3-0 and to make matterd worse was that theybwere arch rivals and they eventualy ein the world series
I was just a little 8 year old boy wearing my Bonds jersey sitting in front of the tv with my parents hoping the Giants would close out game 7 and make me the proudest kid alive. And when the dust settled and the Angels were the World champions...saddest night in my young years ever. But later on my dad( Sep 26 1960-Dec 3 2010) promised me that the giants would win the World Series in another 8 years, and by the weirdest coiendence, they did win it all 8 years later.Still the weirdest yet happiest sports moment in my life.Go Giants
I believe the worst baseball moment ever for the Royals was in 1977 when they lost the deciding 5th game of the ALCS in KC against the Yankees when they had a 3-1 lead going into the 8th. They gave up 1 run in the 8th, then 3 runs in the 9th and lost 5-3. That season they won 102 games, more than any other Royals team. One of those great teams in the 70s or early 80s should have won a World Series and 1977 was their best shot, so I think that was the most devastating when you look back at it (plus Royals vs Yankees was the best rivalry going in baseball during that time). I think they put the 1976 ALCS walk off loss in New York on there because it was dramatic, but even if they win that game they would have had no chance against the Reds that year. Sure the 2014 WS game 7 loss was heartbreaking, but really once Bumgarner came into that game with a lead, the Royals didn't have much of a shot. If Blanco doesn't completely botch Alex Gordon's 9th inning hit in CF, it would have been just a single and the ending would have been less dramatic.
I would think that the Royals' worst moment would be Game 7 of the 2014 World Series. They have the tying run on 3rd after a terrible fielding error, a great batter at the plate, and he pops out to end the Series.
People are still mad about 1977. Watching the Yankees celebrate on our home field AFTER the heartbreak of the Chambliss homer? MUCH MUCH worse. Younger Royals fan don't hate the Yankees but the OLDER ones are STILL galvanized.
No way the choke job against the Royals in the 2015 ALDS was a worst moment for the Astros than Lidge giving up the bomb to Pujols in the 2005 NLCS. It might have mattered more because we went on to win that series but ask any Astros fan and that's the moment they would pick.
I would say Lidge giving up the walk off to Podsednik in game 2 of the WS was worse than the Pujols blast. The Astros had a real chance to steal home field in that game and useless Lidge gave up a homer to Chicago's worst hitter. That was deflating.
The worst moment hands down was the previous year, 2004. Astros up in the series 3-2 against the Cards in the NLCS and Edmonds hits a walk off bomb to take game 6. Astros lose game 7.
None of these are even close to the worst for the Astros. It's a tie between game 6 of the 1986 NLCS and game 5 of the 1980 NLCS. In both cases, Astros were 6 outs or less away from their 1st world series. (Because everyone knew Scott would win 1986 game 7.) I think 1980 was worse, giving up 5 runs in the 8th.
I remember watching that Giant Angels game as an 11 year old. As soon as it ended, I turned the TV off and just went to bed. I didn't talk for about a week after because of how hurt I was. THANKS FOR BRINGING THAT BACK UP
As a Boston Red Sox fan, 1986 was a really tough year. The high was the Davey Henderson homer of Dickie Moore that put the Red Sox into the World Series only to have Bill Buckner let that grounder go through his legs. I didn't sleep very well that night because I was too focused on why then-manager, John McNamara, never put Dave Stapleton in as a defensive replacement for Buckner. The way the Red Sox came back against the New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series after being just one game away from elimination at 0-3, becoming the only team in Major League Baseball history to do it made up for that debacle by Buckner and many other terrible times endured by this Boston Red Sox fan.
In fairness game 3's 1-0 win could have gone either way, so they weren't totally out of it (that was the real turning point, because Verlander pitched like a true ace that game, but tantrum Lackey was able to get the win thanks to bitching about strikes to the umpire).
That's not the worst moment. 1987 is worse. They were the best team in the majors and beaten 4 games to 1 in the ALCS by a team who had the worst regular season record of all 4 postseason qualifiers. Furthermore, the Twins were 29-52 on the road during the regular season. That the Tigers were beaten at home, TWICE, clinching the pennant in Detroit, made it highly ironic.
Is it even possible to feel bad for the Yankees in their "worst moment"??? They had their thumb on the Red Sox for 84 years, and blew a 3-1 series lead. Boo hoo. At least you have 27 trophies to hug at night.
Jason Emmers its because it was a 3-0 lead and not a 3-1 lead. the only blown 3-0 lead in mlb history. not to mention that as a red sox fan i can admit that yanks team was probably more talented which adds even more salt to the wound
Yeah, I thought the same thing. But "worst" is a relative term. You could probably use: "That one time they came in second place and only had 3 players in the All Star Game". :D
Steinbrenner certainly thought it was the worst moment. I remember how obsessed (yes, OBSESSED) he was at getting back at the Red Sox for that ALCS during the 2004-05 offseason. Let's not forget that, just a season ago, the Yankees broke the Red Sox's hearts when (a) Aaron Boone homered in the 11th and (b) they nabbed A-Rod in just a week when the Red Sox couldn't do it over a few months, so for them to blow a 3-0 lead after ALL that...can you blame The Boss for being tormented?
your mum i know right. We best them at SF to go up 2-0 and then get swept at home. Just disgraceful. Another qualifier should be Roy Halladays no hitter against us.
im a die hard phillies fan and that moment is etched deep in my mind...but mitch williams should of never had to shake off daulton bc he should never of been in to begin with...over managing and 3 pitchers later
You probably couldn't find footage of it, but the worst single moment for the Jays, IMO, was blowing the division to the Tigers in '87. Specifically the ball going through Manny Lee's legs in the second-last game of the season in the 12th, putting the Tigers in the driver's seat for good.
Bryce McNeil That game can easily be found on RUclips, although I think it is not a complete recording. I made a .gif of Garth Iorg tapping weakly back to Frank Tanana for the final out of that game because I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess. Blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Royals in 1985 was pretty bad, though. Jim Freaking Sundburg!
T- Max you can find a million uploads of the last game of that season, but it took a long time for someone to upload the second to last game......but now here it is : /watch?v=JeGlLewLslI
That 2011 World Series was bigger heartbreak for me that the death of a loved one. I'll never be over that. Not even if they eventually win one. A strike away...TWICE!!! They had the plastic up in the locker room and the champagne chilling on ice.....So close.
I think Gerrit Cole giving up a HR against the Cubs in the 2015 NL Wild Card game was the worst Pirates moment. Truly signaled the end of the Pirates playoff run in the 2010's.
Considering how great those '90s Indians teams were, and how close the 1997 team was to winning it all, that was worse. Tony Fernandez basically had a Bill Buckner moment and Jose Mesa blew it in the 9th.
Not even close. You must be a newer baseball fan. Indians in 2016 weren't expected to get nearly that far, and got to within one game of winning the World Series without one of their best players (Brantley), and losing two of their top 3 pitchers right before the playoffs (Carrasco and Salazar). The Cubs were a big favorite.
Really cool compilation. It would have been nice to have a bit more info on each moment so we can locate ourselves within history... I was lucky to be in two of those games and watched at least 10 more live on TV.
Any cardinals fan knows the name Don Dinkenger who made what is known as "the call" to umpires still today. He had a big part in us losing the 85 world series.
travis staebell Any cardinals fan ignores how much the team completely unraveled from the bad call. They could've easily worked around it but completely fucked up.
Wrong. That might have been a dumb call, but Jorge Orta ended up being the first out of the bottom of the 9th inning anyway. Jack Clark missed a fly ball. Todd Worrell threw a wild pitch. The Cardinals blew that.
as a mets fan, i didn't even think that was the worst moment in the series. by that point, we were already in a tough hole, down by more than two games. the real worst moment was when we were ready to wrap up game 1 on the road with a win and familia blew the save by throwing a cookie to Gordon. that was definitely the worst moment.
I like how the White Sox worst moment is just some random bad play from their totally forgettable history where they're so terrible there isn't even a notable moment. Why was my dad born in the South Side.
The Dent HR deserves more attention-The Sox had a comfortable lead in the AL East before the Yankees took off. If they had won another game this never would have happened.
As a Met fan, I gotta say Luis Castillo's dropped pop-up was way worse than anything from the 2015 WS. The devastation from that play buried us as an organization for *years*.
There's a reason that he doesn't sound like he should be calling them. When asked in an interview, he said he doesn't watch sports in his free time, he watches Dancing With the Stars. He's a pretty boy for TV, nothing more.
Anyone from St. Louis will tell you that A. They hate him and his butt buddy Tim McCarver and B. The absolute only reason he has his job is because he is Jack Bucks son
Joe Sontag, I hardly think that real Cardinals fans hate Tim McCarver!!! They probably wouldn't have made it to the 1964 world series if it weren't for Tim McCarver. Or the '68 world series, for that matter. And how about the way McCarver hit in the 1964 world series? Simply put, the Redbirds wouldn't have won it all in '64 without Tim McCarver!!!!
Before I start the video, as a Red Sox fan I pretty sure for ours it's gonna be the Bill Buckner play I am 99% sure if it's not then it is probably Bucky Dent's home run
No. The worse White Sox moment is the Black Sox Scandal. We had one of the best teams in MLB history but they ruined it and made the Sox one on of the worse teams for a hundred years
@@JayTemple True. Either team could have won the 1919 World Series. Sadly, the first World Series title for the Reds will be remembered as a a thrown World Series. And the White Sox are remembered for that.
Absolutely correct ! I thought the same thing, life and death v. a game whoever put this together really should be embarrassed by that. No, need to apologize for the name, I figured it was a bet/dare/joke.
As a lifelong Pirates fan I would have to disagree and say that the death of Roberto Clemente was our darkest moment. He was and still is one of the most iconic people in not just Pittsburgh sports, but the entire city's history.
Or perhaps both. In all my whining and complaining over our loss in 2001, I seem to have overlooked the debacle in the 2004 ALCS. But I'm leaning towards 2001 simply because of 9/11.
I figured the worst moment for the Twins was finding out that they only won their two Series because the building super messed with the ventilation so the wind blew in when their opponents were batting. (The Twins have never won a road game in the World Series.)
I have noticed that the Dodger's worst moment was in black and white. One might then conclude that the Dodgers haven't had a very bad moment for close to 60 years.
It’s hard being a rangers fan for the past 7 years. 2010- swept in World Series 2011- blowing the World Series on one pitch twice 2012- were a superteam until September and I’m the wild card game Hamilton had “too much 24HR energy.” 2013-got 90 wins but lost a tiebreaker game to the rays to miss the playoffs 2014- 2nd worst team in baseball 2015- Bautista hit the three run home run 2016- the errors that lead to the jays winning 2017- we are now known as the other team in texas
What about the 16 inning game against the Mets in the playoffs in 1986? The Astros had the game in the bag pretty much going into the ninth inning. And they had their ace Mike Scott, who had the Mets scared shitless looming for Game 7 at the Astrodome. Had there been a seventh game, then I'm absolutely confident that the Astros would've won it. The Mets already knew that it would be a major struggle in trying to figure Mike Scott out so Game 6 in essence, became a de facto "do or die" game for the Mets.
Oh boo hoo!!!!! We just won the last 3 World Series and 4 of the last 5 and just because some morons flew a plane into a fucking building we think we are entitled to another one! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Oh boo hoo! We just won the last 3 World Series and 4 of the last 5 and just because some morons flew a plane into a fucking building we think we are entitled to another one! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Diamondbacks fan Here. In 2011 we lost to the brewers in game 5 in the 10th inning. Our 2000 loss to the Mets was in game 4 and it seemed like the Mets were in control the entire series. Granted we had 100 wins and Randy Johnson that year, but it felt like we had a better chance of beating the Brewers than those World Series bound Mets.
yep. as a reds fan that 2012 season still stings as that was one of the better reds to that had potential of going to the world series, but let the giants come back all the way and they ended up winning it all that year
As an Astros fan, losing that game in the ALDS against KC isn't even close to the losses against Philadelphia in the 1980 NLCS or New York in the 1986 NLCS. Both of those losses were at the end of a window of opportunity. We were ahead of schedule when we lost against KC and everyone knew there would be more chances to try again.
04 Yankee collapse is probably the greatest moment in Sports I've ever witnessed. In over a hundred years of Baseball, it's been done only ONCE. That is simply incredible

2001 for the Yankees wasn't bad! They had literally won the last 3 World Series and 4 of the last 5. They have nothing to complain about! And Fernandez was the best moment for the Marlins. One less drunk-driving cokehead to worry about.
@@metallica708 My argument for 2001 is the circumstances. It was right after 9/11. And Fernandez, for as disturbing as his cocaine use is, his death isn't a good thing.
I'm a Rangers fan and I still haven't gotten over the 2011 World Series. I will admit that is one of the best World Series' in the last 15-20 years

That and all we needed to do is throw a strike... TWICE
As a Cards fan, I have some pretty fond memories haha ... that was some unbelievable clutch hitting, and less than stellar D from Cruz. Great series though
Yeah its arguably one of the best of all time. That series had everything in it. Cards deserved the win, back and forth battle the whole series.

i think the worst moment for the angels is being called the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Terrel Suggs HA HA
Anaheim Angels > Los Angeles Angels. That's the name they should go back to.
it's more accurate too since pretty much nobody in LA likes the Angels, they are an Orange County team.
95 when they choked away the lead to the M's...twas beautiful.
And this is my favorite team.....
For the Indians, I would think losing the 3-1 lead was the worst. For the Dodgers, Clayton game 1 2014 7th inning...
:c bad memories bro
Detroit Tigers sadly have many worst moments...
Shhhhhh don't say a word
Man that Jose Fernandez one made me cry RIP JOSE FERNANDEZ #16 gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN

That man was taken from us far too soon. Talk about raw talent.
I can't even stand the Marlins and I cried when I heard about it, he was probably going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come...
You do realize he killed 2 people correct? Even if he lived, it would have been behind bars, so stop crying for a murderer ffs
Randy Marsh He didn't kill two people you fuckin idiot. First off, it was never confirmed as to who was driving the boat. Also, 2/3 people aboard the boat, including Jose, were found with cocaine in their systems. The Bartman incident could have been a nothing moment if Alou acted like a professional instead of a child who didn't get the toy they wanted.
It appears you're a cubs fan. thanks for not blaming bartman, that whole scenario really pisses me off. i think anyone else would have reached for that ball too in bartman's situation. I don't think alou had a play on that ball anyways.
It's not Bartman fault we lost that series but imo it's still dumb to reach for the ball as a fan.
I think Steve may have been forgiven by now
Any Detroit tiger fan knows the worst moment was when Galaraga (sorry don't know how to spell his name) was throwing a perfect game and the batter hit an infield grounder and was called safe at first.
But don't get me wrong that one really pissed me off
princess Mo I'm not a Tigers fan but a huge baseball fan and I agree that should be in the video but Jim Joyce (first base umpire) admitted his mistake after the game. No reason to still be sour about it
Princess MO I was so mad
It still bothers me how everyone blames Bartman for the Cubs choking horribly
Eric Gentry there would've just been 2 outs and the Cubs still would've made an error and blown the lead
Brannon H most cubs fans including me have kinda forgiven Bartman. he was just listening to the game with his headphones and saw a ball coming to him and caught it. anyone would have done the same
Nobody seems to remember the error that comes a few pitches later. Mostly because everyone thinks Alou could have caught that ball.
TheDiamond they better have it's not like they won the world series or anything . (I'm an Indians fan btw
I'd actually list game 162 of 2007 as the worst moment in Mets history.
Anthony Africano That is what I consider the worst moment to be as well.
Anthony Africano I agree with you and I'm a dodger fan that one hurt me Beltran was on fire during that time
Honestly as a big Met's fan I wasn't upset that lost the World Series because I was surprised that they made it in that year, and it was the greatest feeling actually seeing them in a World Series for the first time in my lifetime. (I was only 1 when they played in 2000). 2006 was what hurt me the most because Beltran was one of my favorite players growing up.
Anthony Africano maybe if we got rid of Harvey and stopped paying him so much we'd go back
As a ranger fan, I knew exactly what our moment would be
Lol I am too and knew it :P
Bconn5 same 😢😢
There are so many to count sadly 😢
We will eventually get one my brethren
Cards fan here. I really do feel bad for Texas, they've had some solid teams year after year but have just had some tough luck. If the Cardinals don't make it into the postseason it's likely that I'll be cheering on the Rangers. Best of luck to you guys.
The Marlins one caught me by surprise and struck me right in the heart. It is true, and the despair felt by this community, this team, and his family that day and ever since is unknowable. Thank you.
*We will never forget you, Jose.*
That idiot deserves to be forgotten

metallica708 the man is dead, don’t disrespect him like that

Pretty good list. I think you missed on 2 of them though:
Angels worst moment has to be Skaggs' death
obviously that happened after this video was posted
@@mg-jf5ld I think this list had to do more with on-field stuff. Lyman Bostock bring shot and killed in 1978 in my opinion was much worse than Skaggs’ passing
The Bill Buckner error wouldn't have happened if the pitcher hadn't thrown a wild pitch. Why does he get all the blame?
About 4 disastrous things happened for Boston before Buckner, he's just a scapegoat
right fielder not backing him up smh
Don't forget the whole team still had game 7 to redeem themselves but they couldn't. Nelson Cruz sucked harder on Freese's triple and he doesn't get much blame, I wish Red Sox fans had treated Buckner the same way.
Game 7 of the 2014 world series wasn't on here for the Royals? That ending sent me into a depression.
yeah -- must have been real hard after just starting to watch the royals in october of 2014 to see them lose a world series. royals fans bandwagoned SOOOOOO hard that year, it was ridiculous.
Eric Graham Yeah but I wasn't a bandwagon fan. I had been a fan for years prior to 2014.
Jarrett Souders, Go Giants
Good.
Emmanuel Ontiveros yes sir
I dunno, I think the shot heard round the world is pretty bad for dodgers fans
Evan Creedon seriously
I would think Ozzie Smith's walk off HR in the 1985 NLCS is up there too.
Evan Creedon I think after this year it's Darvish's start in game 7 for the dodgers
The Dodgers only scored one run, though. You cant blame all of game 7 on Darvish
Man the Royals and Cardinals really have a presence in this list. I guess that makes Missouri the Mid-West house of pain.
The Rangers one still gives me nightmares...
probably would have chosen the end of the 2014 world series for the Royals. we were 90 feet away from tying the game, and the heartbreak of not coming through was pretty painful. winning it all in 2015 eased the pain, no doubt, but it was just heartbreaking at the time.
nice video. love seeing all the old clips
Paul K ya know, as a UNC fan, i can relate exactly to what you said. we got our hearts shattered by Nova but came back the next year and won it all. the redemption is a really good feeling
Paul K yeah as a Royals fan the 2014 World Series was very painful, and should definitely be on here instead.
Tj Mckenzie Eh idk about 50/50 with Crawfords arm.
Cincinnati's worst moment was when you spelled Cincinnati wrong hahaha
As a yankee fan, the worst moment for me has to be the 2001 World Series loss to the diamondbacks I was completely devastated
I thought after you guys beat my Mariners that year there was no way you were going to lose, of course taking into consideration what else had gone on in the city. Just seemed like they were the team of destiny that year. Was really shocked that AZ pulled it off.
plus the 9/11 factor. That one was the most painful. Losing to the sox was the most embarrassing.
Roy Goodland Jesus Christ, that's a bit of a stretch.
Hard Lard lol I wasn't even alive during that time
Everything from 1992-2017 for the Twins
Julian Dahlquist the twins won the central '02, '03, '04, '06, '09, '10, and game 163 verses detroit
I was at 163 and it was AMAZING. But, making the playoffs isn't the same as winning the playoffs.
Julian Dahlquist Don't worry we'll pull off an upset in the playoffs this year
Julian Dahlquist gardhire years weren’t bad.
Royals fan here-we wish we had your issues in that time frame (up until 2013, anyway).
as an A's fan, I thought our worst moment was losing to the tigers every damn year
Jayce Taskey as a tigers fan I enjoy it lol
How is that relevant to what he was saying? The Giants that year were a force to be reckoned with that came back from huge series deficits in the DS and CS. I don't think anyone was all that shocked to see the Tigers lose, we just all thought the Tigers would put up more of a fight.
Brooo WHATTT??? I'M OUT lmao this is baseball we r talking bout bud
Brooo WHATTT??? I'M OUT 😂😂😂y not, u can't do anyhing😂
Brooo WHATTT??? I'M OUT ohhh nooooo, I'm sooooo scared
As a giants fan, while its easy to remember the championships from 2010, 2012, 2014, i still have a hard time dealing with that game 6 collapse vs the angels. I will never get over that one
Jesse Hernandez
Took the words out of my mouth. The 2002 meltdown was painful.
you still won 3 in 5 years. Where are the angels now hahaha ^^ !! 1 fucking ring that's it !!
Spoiler count:
NYY: 4
KC: 4

I was just a little 8 year old boy wearing my Bonds jersey sitting in front of the tv with my parents hoping the Giants would close out game 7 and make me the proudest kid alive. And when the dust settled and the Angels were the World champions...saddest night in my young years ever. But later on my dad( Sep 26 1960-Dec 3 2010) promised me that the giants would win the World Series in another 8 years, and by the weirdest coiendence, they did win it all 8 years later.Still the weirdest yet happiest sports moment in my life.Go Giants
As a Tigers fan.. That 2013 ALCS was just a massive gut punch. We still haven't recovered from that Big Papi grand slam.
The worst for the royals was when Yordano Ventura died and the second worst is when perez popped up to end the world series
Venture was kind of an asshole and didn't not that influence on the franchise.
I was at that game. That ball is still flying around somewhere.
What about the slam Qualls gave up to Konerko? That knocked the air right out of the Astros the rest of the series.
That 2013 Detroit Tigers meltdown was rough!
1:53 Stupid Cubs fans still scapegoating on Steve Bartman and completely ignoring the real reason why the Cubs lost the NLCS
trush0t1 Lol.
trush0t1
It’s 2018 who is still salty about it? 😂 stop scapegoating cubs fans for doing nothing
Tyler Pallotta you would know how that feels wouldn’t you, Indians fan?
Tyler Pallotta the Cubs
Is it even possible to feel bad for the Yankees in their "worst moment"??? They had their thumb on the Red Sox for 84 years, and blew a 3-1 series lead. Boo hoo. At least you have 27 trophies to hug at night.
Jason Emmers its because it was a 3-0 lead and not a 3-1 lead. the only blown 3-0 lead in mlb history. not to mention that as a red sox fan i can admit that yanks team was probably more talented which adds even more salt to the wound
Jason Emmers it was actually a 3-0 lead
Plus the Yankees were cheating which made it even sweeter
Every team who faced the Royals in the 2015 postseason kept forgetting there are nine innings in a game.
That's what happens when your bullpen is untouchable
As a reds fan who’s suffered most of my life except for the 90 World Series.. I’ll never get over the 2012 nlds against the giants
As a reds fan I knew when I clicked on this video what it was going to be, I still can't believe they blew that...
your mum i know right. We best them at SF to go up 2-0 and then get swept at home. Just disgraceful. Another qualifier should be Roy Halladays no hitter against us.
Paul brown, home of disappointment;GABP, home of heartbreak and misery
That 2012 NLDS was a fucking heartbreak for sure
That pitcher was never let back in Philadelphia. In fact they had to trade him because of death threats from fans in Philadelphia!
Brandon Bennett Even Joe talks numerous times to Mitch about not throwing the same pitch 2-2 as he did 2-1.
im a die hard phillies fan and that moment is etched deep in my mind...but mitch williams should of never had to shake off daulton bc he should never of been in to begin with...over managing and 3 pitchers later
Brandon Bennett Mitch Williams I think. Wow. Philly fans are terrible
We got a little revenge for ya, that year.
Indian's worst moment wasn't blowing a 3-1 lead?
that wasn't really a moment though . that was 3 full games
Ryan Monty yet if they were healthy they would've swept the cubs
TommyP2490 Ps4 yeah woulda shoulda coulda unfortunately.
Cardinals fans also forget that the runner was thrown out on a play that would have been a base hit without him on.
The Royals defense of that inning requires us to impugn Darrell Porter and we loved Darrell Porter.
Wrong. That might have been a dumb call, but Jorge Orta ended up being the first out of the bottom of the 9th inning anyway. Jack Clark missed a fly ball. Todd Worrell threw a wild pitch. The Cardinals blew that.
I gotta be honest, Miami Marlins was the saddest out of all of them. The other teams just lost to playoff Games, Miami suffered a tragic death.
as a mets fan, i didn't even think that was the worst moment in the series. by that point, we were already in a tough hole, down by more than two games. the real worst moment was when we were ready to wrap up game 1 on the road with a win and familia blew the save by throwing a cookie to Gordon. that was definitely the worst moment.
I like how the White Sox worst moment is just some random bad play from their totally forgettable history where they're so terrible there isn't even a notable moment. Why was my dad born in the South Side.
And it's the only time they're even on this list because they just can't be part of anything note worthy. I will rip this team to shreads.
I think you mean the Chicago 2nd fiddles. Damn the only people that hate this are their fans.
Red Sox also have Buckey Dent and Aaron Boone as serious contenders. Toss up.
Dorvid No way, the Buckner error was by far their worst single moment.
The old Red Sox had dozens of worst moments - it's hard to pick just one. Boone's HR was the worst gut-punch in my memory.
The Dent HR deserves more attention-The Sox had a comfortable lead in the AL East before the Yankees took off. If they had won another game this never would have happened.
For me, the Boone home run wasn't really a gut-punch. In 2003, I think most Sox fans knew we weren't going to win that game.
That Astros 8th inning Game 4 still hurts. I can only imagine how soul crushing the Cubs, Indians, Rangers, and Red Sox moments were at the time.
VeNolV11 - Astros won the WS in 2017 so that boo boo should be gone now. There's no Band-Aid better than winning.
Or the Yankees blowing a 3-0 to, of all teams, the Red Sox. AND got to watch them win the WS, LOL
Houston's worst moment should be Game 6 of the 1986 NLCS
As a Met fan, I gotta say Luis Castillo's dropped pop-up was way worse than anything from the 2015 WS. The devastation from that play buried us as an organization for *years*.
as a Reds fan, the 2012 NLDS still makes me sick. Made me angrier than I had ever been in my life.

I have learned that Joe Buck should never announce big games.
idahoan dude SHUT THE BUCK UP lol stupid schwarber I actualy liked him until buck came along .......-an indians fan
The guy makes everything boring
Simply put, the Redbirds wouldn't have won it all in '64 without Tim McCarver!!!!
what is that sound around 12:15
I know
Pujols' homer off Lidge should be the worst for the Astros
or getting swept in '05
Nope they won that series. However, a few days later, Podsednik’s walk off vs. Lidge all but finished them off in the WS.
Or game 7 of the 2019 world series. Or completely sucking in 2011-2013.
Before I start the video, as a Red Sox fan I pretty sure for ours it's gonna be the Bill Buckner play I am 99% sure if it's not then it is probably Bucky Dent's home run
Watching the Reds drop a 2-0 series lead made me sick to my stomach. I was sleepless for a week because of that nightmare of a series.
Half of these moments are by the hands of the Yankees. Gotta love being from NY lol
No. The worse White Sox moment is the Black Sox Scandal. We had one of the best teams in MLB history but they ruined it and made the Sox one on of the worse teams for a hundred years
I feel bad for the members of the 1919 Reds, because that's all people remember.
@@JayTemple True. Either team could have won the 1919 World Series. Sadly, the first World Series title for the Reds will be remembered as a a thrown World Series. And the White Sox are remembered for that.

There's worse things and if people can't take the joke.....you know the rest
And you're original comment was so on point !
As a lifelong Pirates fan I would have to disagree and say that the death of Roberto Clemente was our darkest moment. He was and still is one of the most iconic people in not just Pittsburgh sports, but the entire city's history.
As an A's fan the 2014 wild card game loss was the most painful moment.
Yankee fan here. I figured it was going to be 2001 or 2004.
Michael Baumann 2001 best year for my favorite team ⚾️Diamondbacks
I was thinking 1960.
Strat-O-Matic Delaware what's the one you were thinking in 1960
Or perhaps both. In all my whining and complaining over our loss in 2001, I seem to have overlooked the debacle in the 2004 ALCS. But I'm leaning towards 2001 simply because of 9/11.
That would be Mazeroski's walk-off home run in Game 7 of the World Series that won it for the Pirates.
The Fernandez one put a different perspective on it all
Elijah J Buries I.....AM A MAN
The worst moment for the Twins is literally any time we have ever faced the Yankees in the playoffs. Which is every year we make the playoffs.
The problem is you Twins fans just don't hate the Yankees guts.
and then you played my Angels in 2002 :D
I figured the worst moment for the Twins was finding out that they only won their two Series because the building super messed with the ventilation so the wind blew in when their opponents were batting. (The Twins have never won a road game in the World Series.)
I have noticed that the Dodger's worst moment was in black and white. One might then conclude that the Dodgers haven't had a very bad moment for close to 60 years.
If one would think that, that person is living under a rock :)
As a Reds fan, I can say you definitely got it right
NoFlyZone2521 fond memories, as a Giants fan.
I was at each home playoff game and they lost all 3 in a row. it hurts lol
Hanigan's reaction says it all. still hurts lol
2002 for the giants hurt too. so we can all agree that dusty baker hurt us
That 2012 NLDS was a fucking heartbreak
Game 4 for the astros was the saddest moment ever for me
What about the 16 inning game against the Mets in the playoffs in 1986? The Astros had the game in the bag pretty much going into the ninth inning. And they had their ace Mike Scott, who had the Mets scared shitless looming for Game 7 at the Astrodome. Had there been a seventh game, then I'm absolutely confident that the Astros would've won it. The Mets already knew that it would be a major struggle in trying to figure Mike Scott out so Game 6 in essence, became a de facto "do or die" game for the Mets.
For the Mets I'll say the 06 ending is worst
I love how many of these are the Royals inflicting the pain on other teams.
As a Braves fan the most disappointing moment for me was watching the Twins in 1991 win a World Series that Atlanta should have won.
2001 Luis Gonzalez blooper single to win World Series was way worse for the yanks
yu gee I disagree. Blowing a 3-0 series lead (while also becoming the first team to do so in MLB) was worse. It was utterly humiliating.
Joe Carters home run was Toronto's greatest moment and Philadelphia's worst moment... awesome stuff...
Dustin Gamble i fucking hate joe Carter
That was my very first World Seried game. All I wanted was a game to be remembered, an thank God, I got one for the ages.
Adolfo Salgueiro I remember watching that game as a kid and didn't like it cuz my dad was cutting off my cartoons... looking back I'm glad he did...
Dustin Gamble - that is an awesome story
This was the best moment of my life!
Yankee fan here. Losing the 2001 World Series was pretty painful, maybe just as bad as 2004.
*2003
Marlins fan sorry
EtchedInStone w Both of those are highlights I never want to see again
EtchedInStone 😈I'm a diamond backs fan btw😈
Oh boo hoo! We just won the last 3 World Series and 4 of the last 5 and just because some morons flew a plane into a fucking building we think we are entitled to another one! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
As a Padre fan it was a lot worse losing the 1 game playoff to the Rockies in 07. The 98 Yankees are still considered one of the best teams ever.
I do love how the Yankees moment, is Games 4-7 of the 2004 ALCS. Although the Luis Gonzalez hit in the 2001 WS is up there too.
That wasn't the worst moment for Mets fans, we knew that series was done before that.
The worst is Luis Castillo.
Me and my friends pinpoint that moment as the start of that year's historic collapse and the next few years of futility.
Indians should have been game 7 of 2016 world series
I would agree... If it was against literally any other team besides the one that had a 108 year drought.
2016 Indians wasn't expected to make that far. The 90's Indians were much greater.
Cubs were literally the best team in baseball that year. I’m surprised the Indians got that far.
it was so satisfying seeing the Yankees, cardinals, and white Sox worst moments
cool. profile pis
pic*
Ethan Key lol thanks man
Devlen Buh you a cubs fan?
Cubs 1744 yes, all Chicago teams except the white sox
Diamondbacks fan Here. In 2011 we lost to the brewers in game 5 in the 10th inning. Our 2000 loss to the Mets was in game 4 and it seemed like the Mets were in control the entire series. Granted we had 100 wins and Randy Johnson that year, but it felt like we had a better chance of beating the Brewers than those World Series bound Mets.
yep. as a reds fan that 2012 season still stings as that was one of the better reds to that had potential of going to the world series, but let the giants come back all the way and they ended up winning it all that year
I loved seeing the Cubs worst moment. It was so satisfying. ( Cardinals Fan )
My Hauls same
Ah yes finally a fellow Cardinals fan
sgtshermans same but we can’t even hate em it was 108 year and we the ones who blew it
That's why I was so happy to see the Sox beat the Astros.
Lol David Ortiz is responsible for 2 teams worst moments #goat
Frezz what does goat mean?
Student seven didn't ask you
Student seven I knew It I was just asking him making sure he's not wanna those guys who says goat but doesn't know what that means
Frezz yeah but the Yankees are responsible for 9 or 10 teams worst moments
so was Freese so...
9:43 are you assuming it's gender?
Haha you stole my idea
TheCoolGuy Lol
Haha good one
TheCoolGuy Gamer fuck off
TheCoolGuy Gamer I
As an Astros fan, losing that game in the ALDS against KC isn't even close to the losses against Philadelphia in the 1980 NLCS or New York in the 1986 NLCS. Both of those losses were at the end of a window of opportunity. We were ahead of schedule when we lost against KC and everyone knew there would be more chances to try again.
Those two NLCS's were barnburners and wholly underrated. We should have played the Astros in '80.
04 Yankee collapse is probably the greatest moment in Sports I've ever witnessed. In over a hundred years of Baseball, it's been done only ONCE. That is simply incredible
And this is why everyone hates the Yankees
Astros should of been the 2005 World Series. WE GOT SWEPT BY THE WHITE SOX. 😢
I would say the 1986 NLCS or 1980 NLCS would be worse.
I hate David Freese...
I am a bandwagon fan of the Mavericks Rangers fan i take it? lol ouch
Yep. It hurts.
I am a bandwagon fan of the Mavericks lol I am too. feel ya
He's my hero
Got to admit though, it was an incredible game.
9:35 why was the yankees walk off song playing when they lost
My opinion.
1) Arizona Diamondbacks: Game 5 of the 2011 NLDS
2) Atlanta Braves: Toss up between 2005 NLDS where the Astros beat the Braves, 2012 Wild Card game, and Game 7 of the 1991 World Series.
3) Baltimore Orioles: 1996 ALCS where that kid grabbed a ball, and ruled a home run.
4) Boston Red Sox: 1986 World Series, Game 6 (the "behind the bag" moment)
5) Chicago Cubs: 2003 NLCS, Game 6(the Steve Bartman Game)

16) Milwaukee Brewers: Game 7 of the 1982 World Series, and then Games 5 and 6 of the 2011 NLCS.

29) Toronto Blue Jays: Game 7 1985 ALCS

2001 for the Yankees wasn't bad! They had literally won the last 3 World Series and 4 of the last 5. They have nothing to complain about!
And Fernandez was the best moment for the Marlins. One less drunk-driving cokehead to worry about.
@@metallica708 My argument for 2001 is the circumstances. It was right after 9/11. And Fernandez, for as disturbing as his cocaine use is, his death isn't a good thing.
