2:09 damn, this part hits hard af.
Bro, you ain't wrong.. So fkn good
The picking hand for that part is pretty tricky. Such a sick riff and super fun to play once you get it down
Shits nasty af ngl
Listen to contraband. This riff is right out of the song!
Man, Imagine you get the job as a bassist and you encounter the monster that is Nick, the guitar player. Madman looks like a University Professor that is working on Harvard and busts the craziest riffs and ideas out there... That alone, shows you how badass this is... The fact that the whole band can follow him and serve him to make the tastiest songs ever...
3:09 that tempo is crazy🔥🔥🔥
I love the throwback to Contraband @2:08 what a riff ❤ 🤘🤘
Knew I recognized it somewhere
this is not an ode to contraband. it's literally a riff he has put in many songs over the years if you listen to their older stuff. take a listen. :)
@@ltcolchino haven't heard all the old stuff but a lot. First time I heard it was in Contraband and then in this. Only two times I've heard it.
Nice to get an instrumental version ! This song is incredible, I hope we get a Drum Playthrough of it !
That chorus is a thing beauty
One of the best guitar writers in the scene
I put him and Jesse Cash in that bracket
Same as everybody in the genre
Glad someone said it
this is pretty boring tbh. it’s like 2 riffs and chugs
@@mustbewasabi So you can't play it, right?
2:08 and 3:42 are an amazing guitar compossition
That riffdown was so sick. Bro played it effortlessly.
2:09
That riff is maybe not quite as difficult as it sounds, but it still took me a while to get it down. The picking hand is the hardest part because of all the string skipping and alternate picking. Such a sick riff and track in general
@@jacksonislegend it’s the left hand for me haha
Nick's guitar parts are always so bouncy and groovy. Especially that breakdown at the end!
Song of 22 by a long mile. Can't get enough of it
Dude was like, "Hey, we're gonna start using a new tuning... add another string..." and then just writes one of the coolest songs I've heard in a long time.
What tuning is it?
@@adammotter7430 Drop E
Because 7 string tunings are suddenly a new thing lol
@@adammotter7430 Drop-E/Drop-A
E A E A D F# B
@@peniletouch Not exactly new territory. Mike Mushok from Staind immediately springs to mind as the first person I heard use this kind of "open" tuning (Ab Db Ab Db Gb Bb, like the lower six of a seven string, rather than a six in Drop-D with an added low A), as far as anything resembling metal music.
But in this kind of context, as well as music by bands like Northlane, it is kind of new. I've heard it used more for chordy, melodic stuff than the more notey, technical heavy music coming out the last several years. All sus2s and sus4s, previously.
It's a cool tuning that will mess with your brain for a long time when you switch to it.
Might just be Drop-E to some, but this dude added a whole new string to his guitar and tuned it in a way where he can't just "move everything down," then wrote a track that kills it, using techniques he's probably still adjusting to because of years of muscle memory. All that string-skipping he does throughout the song is not incredibly easy to do cleanly, and now the distances he's used to crossing are different. Chord shapes and scales are all different on the lowest strings. Three-note sus, minor, and major chords on the lowest three strings are slightly different shapes. Octaves using the lowest four strings are different.
He may not have invented anything, but he had to adjust to a lot.
Don’t let their calm demeanor fool you, both of these guys are one chord away from doing full ass flips.
This right here really inspired me to pick up my guitar and challange myself again, i got rusty and this made me wanna clean up that rust
Saw this band live in November and damn was it pro af. Great energy in the crowd, fantastic sound, performance, they had it all dude.
Wow! Beautifully played gentlemen! Bravo!
This whole song is just a work of art
This song is an absolute banger straight from the get go!!
After this video I thought that this is instrumental by-design track.
Was very surprised to discover in the end, that this is (as I understand) just version with excluded vocals, and this is a song by-design.
I think this is great, that even without the vocals - tune is still works pretty good as instrumental track :)
I agree one of the best in class for sure these guys are the new wave without question
Dude this sounds sick!
Subscribed ♥️
3:42 is freaking crazy!
Very simple and also top notch
This slaps so hard.
Oh my god! That was truly amazing❤🔥🖤
Excellent writing and playing.
This song is such a fckn banger! I’ve been listening to it nonstop
excellent. I love it....
BEAUTIFUL PERFECT !!
Maybe Im bad at music but I heard a lot of different/neat stuff that I didnt catch in the full mix. Thanks for this!
I´ts amazing, this version allows you to hear all the details in the background
My god, I love it.
Love the riff in the chorus. Guitarist is real chill till that last riff haha love it.
NEED MORE OF THIS RIGHT NOWWWWWW!!!!
Deyumm i'm so addicted to this 😁
extreme ❤️🔥
This video just gave me the push i needed to buy a 7 string. Fn awesome! And thank you! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Gosh damn I love this song man
Soo sick! 🤟🤟🤟
Thats an awesome Black Flag t-shirt Jaya
Yea wow 🤯. Too good boiz!!
I like the chorus, the interesting off key note and the odd time signature creating an abrupt end. Also, the melody is very nice. The second verse is awesome and complex, too. Never been a big breakdown fan, but it is not bad for one.
Yeah, that off key note threw me off at first. I was like.. wait a minute lmao
That suspended note in the chorus is a make them suffer staple. Never afraid to throw in a major turn for the chorus. Part of which makes them so good
Super tight❗️✔️🖤
So good I can only say super tight!✔️😇❤️
So chunky. I absolutely love it.
Can't wait for a full album of DoomSwitch!
This is one of the of all time
sick boi
I wish they used the actual audio of the play through and not the studio audio, but this is still rad
Boys fom Aus bringing the heat always 🇦🇺
Just DELICIOUSSSSSS!!!!!!
Woah
Do they have to look so stoic?? I would be headbanging like crazy. I get it’s a showcase for the instruments but I couldn’t stay still I was playing this
These strings look huge I want them
Lets fricking go boys!😮💨
so fucking awesome 🤘
❤️❤️
Very good work!
Nick is just on another level of song writing
Aarrgghhh, yeaaaaaah...
Amazing playthrough... seeing the 5150 at the end reminds me i need to sell my 6505+
I’m here looking for new stuff (new to me) I was also the 1k like on the video. Glad I found this tonight. Can someone please share what key the guitars are tuned to? Thanks!
4:03 I wish this part was longer
2:56 the best part breakdown 🫡🙌
Enjoy how calm they are in this. Id be breaking everything in sight while thrashing
When new single already?
Guys can you please make this version available on Apple Music, Spotify, etc?
That stank face going into the breakdown is epic, he knows he wrote a NASTY riff
This song hits so hard with dual 12's 😭
This is the song that finally made me buy a 7 string. Still can't play it but can at least fake it enough to have fun and play along in parts by just playing singles notes instead of the fast double notes.
Haha! This comment perfectly describes me too lol!
Fantastic. Anyone know the tuning he uses?
Drop E
fucking cool
Anyone got an idea what tunning this is in? The bass and guitar not using the same notes has me wondering!
Guitar is EAEADGB I think. They’ve always used AEADGBE but added that low E for this song. The bass has me stumped
@@iamyetimanYTbass is drop a as well as guitar with an added low e
@iamyetiman up until Doomswitch Nick was using drop A on a six string. It looks like he's using open E (EAEADGB) on a 7 string now.
I’d love to know how Jaya tunes his bass for the drop E songs
What do mean ? You mean when they play live or ?
Here it looks like his 5 string is tuned to drop A. Every time the guitar hits the low E, the bass hits the 7th fret. It's a cool adaptation.
Drop A then match the open notes with the E string or 7th fret on the low A, trying to go lower than drop G is very muddy on bass unless your guitar is specifically set up for it so it’s easier to just tune to an E1 instead of an E0 for clarity.
@@DMxExMxO yeah I thought so. That’s what confuses me about recording bass on drop E songs and whatnot
Man, this song is awesome. I've figured out how to play most of it, but that part at 2:08 is insane. I can only keep up with that riff at 0.75x playback speed :/
Those madmen haven't taken the protective plastic off their truss rod covers yet!
Can anyone please mention the model of the Jackson he is using?
To the best of my knowledge, it is a Concept Series Soloist SLAT7P.
Without lyrics this really sounds like it should be in a Doom soundtrack.
what tuning is this in?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟🤟❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
any1 know the guitar tuning so i dont have to spend the 30 seconds figuring it out?
Tuning?
Favourite band slaying it. Jaya Jeffery I love your shirt brother ✊🏽🟡🔴⚫️
I like the chugging and the palm muting and the bendy bois.
This is insanely difficult
If this song doesn't make it into a doom video game well... slap me down and call me suzy
My goodness gratuitous
I see two chairs back there
Who's a guy gotta blow to get a drum playthrough? *calmly applies chapstick
I was so confused at first, I thought this was just a really awkward music video.
ух как жестоко
Are they standing on a landmine ?
Tune please!!! 🙏🏻😯
if there's 0 audio of them actually playing at this moment is it really a playthrough? This reminds me of bands in the early 2010s having "live videos" and it's literally just a video with the studio track added...Song rips but c'mon I wanna hear them actually playing...
Why does Nick flip me off the whole video😢
It feels like they play it slower than in the original, but I could be wrong
Soo uncomfortable watching Nick play while standing still. I feel like I'm holding in a sneeze.
Awesome cover yall. Sadly it's nothing like the original
Never understood the point of playthrough videos if you do not actually use the audio from the playthrough. It just does not make sense.
Because it's unnecessary noise. It says guitar playthrough, NOT entire song playthrough.
0:27 It seems like what is played on the guitar does not match the audio
Looks fine to me. At first I thought I saw what you mean on right hand, but it is how it is played.
Hybrid picking
Bass player stiff as a frozen 4x4
