Hi Pasi. I haven't heard all of Clapton's eighties albums, just 'Another Ticket' (which I moved on recently as I thought was a bit dispensable), 'Money and Cigarettes' (which I have kept though it's only got a few songs on it I like), and 'Journeyman' which I loved back in 1990 and still go back to from time to time. The champagne cork drum sound I think was the result of using thin-shell piccolo snare drums, that's what it sounds to me anyway rather than drum machines. I've heard tracks from 'Behind the Sun' and 'August' on a best-of comp I have and I must admit the sound doesn't appeal to me much. I'd take all these albums over 'Pilgrim' though. Cheers, James
It seems i do like those 80's albums a bit more than you. I can listen to them, but i rarely chose to do so. I whole heartedly agree with you on Pilgrim. It's simply awful album. Pasi
Clapton was a damn good improviser when he played in CREAM. After that his guitar playing hasn't been anything interesting. I have 2 of his solo albums (Slowhand and that Boulevard album) plus maybe at least a couple of his singles and that's enough for me. By the way are you looking for any certain Clapton releases? 🤔 Clapton was God, Jarkko/MyVinylBar
There's plenty of improvising in Derek & the Dominos In Concert(-73) or it's extended version Live At The Fillmore(-94). No there's nothing from Clapton that i'm really looking for. I could take UK/US/Europe version of Delaney&Bonnie&Friends Coming Home or Derek & the Dominos Layla (would do without a picture sleeve) or Wonderful Tonight, original version or the live version from 1985. Eipä ole 80 luvun Claptonit tuttuja. Hyvä katsaus aiheeseen.
Yllättävää, että edes katsoit. Kai tämä oli selkiö ettei tämä ole sinun tyyliäsi. Kiitos kuitenkin.
