  • Upper-level undergraduate course taught at the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall 2015 semester by Sergey Frolov.
    The course is based on Steven Simon's "Oxford Solid State Basics" textbook.

    Dear Sergey, there is no doubt that you are talented teacher. Please, keep publish your lectures, it is a pleasure to watch them.

    comparing to my physics professors, Sergey Frolov is a gem. He does not just give the information, he examplifies it like what it really means in real life etc. (which is crucial in materials science point of view) which I think most solid state physcis lecturer lack

    2019, reading this as refresher on my solid state physics course in accordance to my final assignment on Carbon Dots.
    im late semester (like semester 12) and i don't remember my solid state physics course at all ( im wondering how i can pass it, with B nonetheless). thanks a lot Sir !

    I've realised that actually this lectures are taken from Steve H Simon and that Steve's videos are better IMO.

      in what ways? he doesn't have powerpoints with pictures , I don't have book. want to decide which playlist I should start watching

    Dear Sergey, please I would like to know the calculation of atomic packing fraction of hexagonal crystal lattice. I only know the atomic packing fraction of hexagonal close packed (HCP). Thanks.
