The only difference is; you at least get to keep those cards for collection, or be able to sell them to others. There is no such option here. Once you pay for it, Konami can simply pull the plug on Duel Links and it's gone forever.

It should also be noted that Gold Sarcophagus banishes face-up (instead of face-down like D.D. Capsule), which makes the card accessible. So it's basically a Foolish Burial for the banish zone. Not as versatile, of course, but it still has its uses.

I don't think Gold Sarc is going to be meta for a long while. Not in a 20 card format, at least. If anything, it would be used to target a card you wouldn't want to draw, or combo'd with some faster card to retrieve the searched card from the banish zone. If this were a 40 card format, it might be a lot better.
Im using it in my amazons, it can search chaos hunter, witch raider or a princess, it can be used as a discard cost with princess too, making it really flexible

I don't think they put it behind a pay wall personally. They give you an option to buy and get two ultra rare Silent Magicians right then and there rather than having to test your luck and spend a 100 or more dollars to try and get all 3 silent magicians from the mini box. If you're a veteran player who has all these already then its less value of course but if you're a newer player and you wanna play Silent Magicians without having to test your luck buying packs then this is a much cheaper option. I know you don't play the tcg so you don't know, but ritual beasts are a glad beast style deck that rely on banished monsters to win and some trigger when banished. Gold sarcophagus is a staple in the deck.
Konami has yet to ban a card outright and this new Silent Magician card, which I have been dying for ever since I pulled the card IRL, is borderline insane. If it gets too good, it might go on the banlist, so only buying the cheap one right now might be the best option.
Until now, all of the cards are accessible to every player. Doesn't matter how rare they are, you can still get it by having some luck or making smart decisions with our gen spending. Now as Konami release this structure deck locked behind an actual money wall. The game starts to actually get unfair for the new players, if wasn't already. Silent Magician is an ok card in my opinion. But Gold Sarcophagus is a card that searches any card at the expense of having to wait 2 turns, it's not vulnerable to S/T removal, unlike Different Dimemion Capsule. It's a decent card for many decks that require a specific card to work. Locking cards behind a paywall is comparable to those games with VIP, and VIPs always get some overpowered stuff which the non-VIP players have no ways to access to. I hope this is just a test release from Konami, if more of these decks come out. Duel Links really is heading to what I call the "TCG pathway of doom".

So they claim that this is the first Pay to win deck because the new silent magician is strong in spellbook decks and you cannot get, not even a single copy, with gems.
Konami didn't learn their lesson do they. When they release broken and unbalanced cards the community reacts and everyone hates the game like when sylvans are insane. Konami bans a lot of cards and fixes the skills. Good right? The issue is Konami will NEVER limit this new silent magician because its behind a huge paywall. It will forever break the game and get too many plusses for duel links smh. Konami why though?

Blue Dragon Summoner if you just need a Spellcaster to grab DM or Gemini Elf from the deck. However, that not only takes the choice of Graveyard to Hand Away, but also means it can't be used Tribute Summon DM just in case. Overall in that way, Blue Dragon is just discount niche Jester.
For me, the idea of paying real money in order to get a playset of a structure in this game seems retarded, playing money at least for test the cards before releasing them for the public seems a little bit more logic

This is one of the best gacha games on mobile next to dokkan. trust me this games got at least 10 more years in it.
