    Hope all enjoy this video. I'm having some issues with RUclips monetization, so if there is any content creator pros out there who could offer advice i would be very grateful. While Monetization is not my driving motivation for the channel, I do have an idea on a t-shirt / cap line i want to set-up.
    Coming soon: The Republic P-43 Lancer

      You need to reach a number of thresholds in terms of overall views and subscriptions in order to become monetized.
      So you need to promote your channel and ask your current subscriber base to recommend you channel to their friends and when they are leaving comments in like channels that are.....well shall we say are shockingly lacking in production values and factual information. Yes I am looking at you Dark Skies.
      You mentioned in your reply to my earlier posting that you are upping your weekly production schedule and that is all well and good. However, do not fall into the same trap many RUclipsrs have fallen into and that is letting greed take over.
      Too many content producers who were good at the beginning, decided to either increase their channels weekly output or opened multiple channels all with the goal of increase subscriptions, ad revenue and even patreon donars.
      But in the end their production standards fell or they cut corners as they attempted to artificially extend their run time and increase ad revenue. Again I am looking at you Dark 5 team, you were very good in the beginning but now are shite.
      If you want to see how to increase you weekly output correctly, then take a look at any of Simon Whistlers channels, Brain Blaze would be good start.
      I would also recommend reaching out to his for tips and tricks. I figure either he or one of his team would be happy to help.
      To see how not to successfully grow and how to ruin a channel, then visit any of the Dark5 channels, especially their Dark Skies channel given the nature of your channel.
      I recommend reading the comments section, as they can be rather scathing for the most part. Mine can be utterly brutal at times, however when I comment there or reply to another commentor, I shout out your channel and leave a link. I am hoping it will generate a few more subs for you.
      Shout out are another way to get your channel noticed. Find like channels and work with them either as a colab or just bouncing ideas about. Have them shout you out on their video's and you do the same for them.....one hand washing the other so to speak.
      Also max out your hash tags and be imaginative about it. Use variation of a theme and go wide. People will not see the hash tags, but they may pull you video into a persons recommend video list that normally wouldn't see it.
      As for sell Tee's and other merch, you have a number of options. There's Itsy and you could create a webpage to compliment your channel and to act as a store front. Again I would talk to Simon Whistler or better yet contact Alex at Autoalex for more info.
      Autoalex is a car channel and he is another Kipper aka Limey aka Brit. I recommend his channel if you are interest in cars as well as old war planes. But contact him and see if he can assist you with your merch sales.
      That's about it from me. One last thing, RUclips is suppost to be fun, when it ceases being fun and becomes more of a chore, then it is time to pull the plug and get out. That's what I did with my two now defunct channels.

      Great feedback. Thanks for the shoutout too. much appreciated. . Yes i will strive for quality first. If i can't do 2, or even one per week because the subject is just too big, I won't. I love the comments, especially when they teach me something new.
      I think i messed up my appeal process, and will wait for a reply to my email. Hopefully it will work out soon.

    DEFINITELY an aviation personality that needed to be covered. Well done, you.
    You've really piqued my curiosity on this Board hostile takeover of Seversky's company. Do you have a vid with more details?

      Glad you enjoyed it. My videos concentrate of the aircraft, so no sorry. My own suspicion is he annoyed the US military too much with the sale to the Japanese, who pressured the board to get rid of him. But.. they were bleeding cash too.

    the armament of 1 - .50 & 1 - .30 - I've seen that on several prewar planes US and foreign . was there a reason . why not 2 of either.

      weigh most likely, plus ammo storage. You can carry more .30 rounds in the same space then you can .50 rounds.
      That is why many British WWII fighters retained their .303 Brownings when they adopted the 20mm cannons. They could carry more .303 rounds then they could 20mm's, thus allowing them to stay in the fight a bit longer.

    • @Aircraft_Files
      @Aircraft_Files  Месяц назад +1

      The p-26 peashooter, its predecessor, had 2 x .30 with a 1 - .50 & 1 - .30 variant. So it might just be an evolutionary trait. The .50 cal was just 2 years old and maybe the guys who wrote up the specs didn't trust it fully yet. Plus all the stuff grumpy said. The Curtiss P-36 Hawk, its main rival had the same config.

    • @gumpyoldbugger6944
      @gumpyoldbugger6944 Месяц назад +2

      @@Aircraft_Files The Browning .50 cal started its development in 1917 and was adopted into service by the US Army in 1921, so it had been around for a bit by the time both the P-26, the P-35 and P-36 were created.
      Of course the thinking at the time was that rifle caliber bullets, the US .30 and UK .303 were all you need to bring down an enemy bomber or fighter, any larger was basically overkill......that kind of thinking didn't last long after 1939.
      Then the debate focused on what was better, the .50 caliber heavy bullet or the explosive 20mm cannon shell. In the long, the 20mm along with large calibers won out.

    @ 9:30 - that's not a P-35 but an even more obscure aircraft, a Curtis Wright CW-22/SNC--1. If you're going to talk about P-35s, show P-35s.

      Sorry Mike. I did try to narrate myself but its not feasible, sounds horrible and would take me 2 weeks of "flubbing" to spit out 4 pages of script. If you know of anyone (volunteer) who would like to take it up Im open, it would save me $90 a month. Or if i get monetised, im happy to fork out for a professional human voice over person.
