Beautiful 600 ft² Apartment for 2 People with 2 Small Home Offices - FULL TOUR

- My & Phu are giving us a full tour of their beautiful 1-bedroom apartment in Montreal. The apartment is 600 square feet, which gives them space to have two home offices in the living room since they both work from home. They are comfortable minimalists which means they aren't sacrificing on comfort, but they are trying to keep things simple and not own too much stuff. They moved to Montreal last year because rent for this newly renovated apartment was nearly half of what they were paying in Toronto for a smaller apartment.

Not everyone can relocate so easily, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the rising cost of housing. Moving is just one idea that could help some folks cope with the rising cost of housing where they live. Some questions we can all ask ourselves: is it possible to move to a smaller space, to a cheaper neighbourhood, or even to a cheaper city to find more affordable housing?
Keep in mind that it's not always the cost of housing alone that should be considered. Transportation can be a huge factor as well! For example, if you move to a cheaper neighbourhood but then you need a car, then you might not be saving as much as you initially thought!

They created a beautiful space for themselves. The fact that it’s half the price they paid for their previous apartment is definitely a good thing. ❤❤
Never seen minimalism so well understood and also feels like someone else can make an endeavour like this to do. ❤
Thank you for featuring us. It was nice meeting you ❤
Thank you for sharing your home with us!! You two are the best!! ❤️
Your home is so lovely❤
@@badger9156 thank youu 🥰
Very smart decisions, they have everything they need and nothing they don’t. Good job!
tHANK YOU Mat for always bringing us genuine stories or personal success. Their home is beautiful and together, they are a lovely couple. May you both continue to find happiness in your world. Thank you for sharing your home with all of us.
Everything being so bright and open makes it both cozy and super inviting. I’d love to have a place like that.
I love My & Phu 's lovely minimalist apt., My's smile and sweet personality is so pleasant to watch and reminds me we don't need a lot of junk to be happy to enjoy the finer things of life. Blessings to this beautiful couple.
Thank youuu 🥰Wishing you all the blessings and happiness as well!!
Beautiful space, functional layout, delightful couple 💑
it's lovely, I wish I was as organized and minimal. I love that the bedroom is free of work and tv.
I do wonder by what kind of wizardry I knew at first glance, before she started talking, that they were in Montréal. Maybe the specific look of the old windows and the heating metal thing on the wall? The feel of the apartment? A burst of nostalgia and "homey feeling"? It's unreal how I just knew. I never even lived in Montréal, just visited lots of friends and family over the years. That was eerie.
Love their apartment. Of course I love it. Kudos on the move!
Haha no way! That does sound like wizardry! Thanks for watching and glad it gave you a little dose of Montreal nostalgia ❤️
@@ExploringAlternatives yeah... now I wanna go so bad, it's been too long... Hope My and Phu love Montréal too! ♥
It’s so cute how proud they are about their new home. I think it is a great example of the great relief escaping “rent burdened” lifestyle. Young people want urban lifestyle, but that exposes them to housing inflation bubbles.
Montreal is an underrated city kept affordable by the French/English divide and the feirce winters.
I've only been to Montreal once. I loved it. It's a beautiful city and the people are great.
OMG she is so adorable and creative 🫶🏽 House looks amazing
Thanks for the tour! Beautiful décor and the greenery is particularly enhancing. Well done! Love the TV stool-stand solution!
Thanks for watching! My and Phu did a beautiful job decorating their space 🥰
thank you, we love the TV stool-stand too^^. many people are worry about my TV but it is still ok, unless we have a cat or a kid 😁
@@ExploringAlternatives 🥰🥰🥰
Very nice and such a sweet couple! Thanks for sharing, you always bring the best stories.
Thanks so much, happy you enjoyed meeting My and Phu and touring their beautiful space :)
Their place is great for them! Love the light and how they set up the different areas for work and living. And love all the plants too. They make such a difference in bringing a home to life. 👏🏼
You guys are magical 😍
A sign of the times that young couples, both with jobs, have to live in such a small space. Tiny spaces is a compromise because of rising costs. If people could afford it, they would choose more space. Even the guy in this video talks about how he's happy to have more storage than before.
That can be the reason. But many people have small houses because they don't need a lot of place and stuff, plus they can save money to spend in other important things.
They live in a walkable city area and have time and money for hobbies. 😊😊❤❤@@ClaritywithKarolien
I see it an opportunity to get creative with your spaces.
Wonderful fresh and positive re-start. Wishing this lovely young couple much fulfillment.
Yay the coffee with sweet milk at the end takes me back! Such a lovely home, and they are a cute couple.
It really shows that you guys have an amazing partnership. Nice home! 🧡🧡
Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated.
Thank you so much for showcasing smaller spaces! It’s so nice to get layout and decor ideas from people who have similar spaces to mine. It takes a lot of creativity to make one apartment function as a home, office, gym, and entertaining/hosting spot 😅
What a beautiful and peaceful space! Congratulations. And I love the DIY TV stand.
So happy they have their ideal home. How wonderful for them. ❤
Such a sweet couple. They have set their apartment up beautifully.
Very well done. Having such nice people is definitely Montreal’s gain. 😉👍👍🙏
Hello My and Phu, nhà đẹp quá!!❤
Cảm ơn chị Phương 🥰🥰
Their space was very refreshing and relaxing to see. It gave me so many ideas for when we move to a smaller space. I can’t wait to view their channel. 💕
A well thought out and well-designed space. What a delightful couple!
What a lovely minimalistic home, a cosy haven for two!
looks great and looks like an actual home. cozy
Beautiful home ❤
Good decision - and a very nice place; congrats 👍
They did a great job decorating their space! Love it.
I have the same desk as the husband and was worried it might not support dual monitor arms. Looks like it is working out just fine.
so far there is no problem with the dual monitor arms. you can try on your desk 😉
Thank u for sharing your place with us! It's very nice and cozy. I like that u get more light in the kitchen from the bedroom. :)
Thanks for checking out the video, happy you enjoyed the tour :)
Very sweet couple and I like the way they have decorated their apartment.
Wow! That nimosa plant reminds me of my childhood
I love it!
Love this place. They created such a lovely and calming space.👍👍 thank you Matt and Danielle ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed the tour! Hope you're having a great week :)
❤ very nice home. And very sweet couple. 😊 Thank you for sharing.
What a tastefully decorated home. Looks much larger than 600 sqft.
The mimosa took me back! We called them a different name in my country, but when I was a kid would always touch them whenever I passed ones on the way to school lol.. lovely apartment, btw. I think it's a good size for 2 people to live comfortably. Good thing to have that window to let the sun into the kitchen area.
Thanks for posting and sharing.
Your work Station is beautiful. I I like it. Your house is beautiful n it is cosy nice one
Thank you ❤
Love all your videos. Thank you for sharing another fantastic apartment. Going to check out their channel now.
Awesome! Thank you so much :)
I would be very happy and happy in an apartment that size and it’s decorated lovely it just so bright all the plants great job
Very nice appartement.
Very nice home. So sad young people have to move to another city to find affordable housing. Soon move out of the country just to survive.
Impressive. I’m single and live in a two bedroom unit. My clothes take up 3 wardrobes and I also have two self hanging ones! How do you both fit everything in that small closet?
We work from home so we don’t need much. Also, We store all winter clothes in our suitcases 😁
Very nice !
Very lovely 👍🌻
You have a very nice place with a chill vibe. Congrats on the move.😅
1:13 Beautiful 😻 and well worthy of your space and 🍀 life.
Lovely apartment!
Very nice.
Thank you for watching!
Looks amazing, but has to be tough in the long run, with the both of them working from home in a 1 bedroom apartment. Even though rent is halved, it's probably still somewhat expensive in outskirts of Montreal.. My guess'd be something like 12- or 1300 usd a month for a place that size(?). Why not move even further away from major cities, if the job allows it? Get your own place or personal space?
2:09 I 💜 your bathroom, just enough and the walk-in 🚿 is Wonderful.
Save money, eat healthy, live small, walk and invest.
Rinse and repeat.
My pleasure.
Nice
What area is this? Just moved from toronto and your place look great
Wondering if they have more units available
Thanks
I wonder what municipality this is in and how much is the rent.
How much is 50% ?
❤
Wish some of that bedroom space could be moved to the living room.
🥰
🤘
So Montreal rent is quite cheaper
I just worry that the alternative living suggestion here is move to a French speaking province and work remotely so the language barrier isn't a problem. I feel like moving somewhere cheaper without the intent of integrating into that culture is not the correct mindset. I can't help but feel protective of that small bubble of french.
I was also a little bit worried about the aspect that... people struggle to find appartments. If people get here, from Ontario to compete for space .. Yay 😅
Thanks so much for watching! We are both bilingual and wouldn’t want to give the impression that folks shouldn’t learn the local language if they move somewhere new :)
Phu already speaks French and My plans to learn (she said in the video that she doesn’t speak French yet)
:) :)
This video just happens to show a transition between an English and a French city, but there are loads of cities and towns with cheaper rent than Toronto :) :)
@@ExploringAlternatives Agreed. And Montreal definitely has a charm and a culture that's completely unique to that city in Canada. I hope you guys enjoy your new home :)
You said that you guys don't have to many stuff. Sooorrry, but you do have a lot of things, the apartment looks busy.
Yea. Wait till winter. Then u know why it is cheaper. Et Bonjour.
had to change it to square meters which is 55 m2....I only think metric ;D
same, I’m more familiar with m2 😅
