All I see is mounds of Sweet n' Sour Pork, Slow Roasted whole piglets stuffed with herbs, sweet potatoes, apples, ect., BBQ Pork ribs, pulled pork w gravy over scalloped potatoes, breaded & fried pork chops, pork roasted on sauerkraut, breakfast sausages on buttermilk biscuit's with sliced pear preserves. I should never have left my farming community.
You should let people know who buys them? Are they just sent to slaughter? Hunting clubs or ranches? And by selling the pigs as opposed to just killing and disposing of them how long would it take for the trap to pay for itself?
Hunting clubs like the big tuskers. Actually, cruise lines buy a lot of them for the fancy luau nights...the ones with an apple in their mouth on a big platter!
That trap costs almost $7,000.00 Itll take at least one season before it pays for itself. Most noticeable way to figure how quick is the value, is in crop losses they incur. As soon as you see a big downsize in crop losses, then you quickly realize the value. Pigs can damage crops pretty quickly on the loose like they are . They tear up grazing pastures too!

Some even climb those fences. They have to put barriers at the top to knock em back inside the pen. Never underestimate any hog to not want to get out of that pen! They know they're doomed if they stay.
Do they feed on the grass that they root up or on grubs and other insects? I've never seen a hog that didn't look healthy and strong, but hard to believe that's all they eat.
What strikes me as funny is they don't freak out until that gate drops. Then it's like "Oh no! We done did fucked up."

Texas is the only state that allows you to sell feral hogs that are still alive. All other states require them to be killed.
