A pink variety of California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) growing from seed, flowering, and producing a seed pod. The potting dirt was fresh from the bag, but came teeming with little bugs and worms. In the future I will sterilize all soil. Also, because I grew it indoors, there was no wind. Because of this, the petals didn't drop and the seedpod refused to split open on its own. Adding artificial wind would cause a lot of problems with producing a consistent time lapse video. I randomly chose a seed from a E. californica seed mixture, which is why it doesn't have the more traditional orange flower.
Shot using various methods at different rates over roughly 3 months from planting the seed to the pod maturing and drying out.

I feel like this video should win an award or something! It’s beautiful! I planted some California poppy seeds about two months back and they’re still growing but I love their hand-like (with fingers) leaves.

Thank you for this visual, I now know I’ve been watering weeds and pulling the few poppies that have been able to pop up 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

The video turned out great! I particularly like watching the plant grow between 0:20 and 0:50 as well as the flower close-up with the seed pod starting to elongate.. The visual quality is great.
Too bad it didn't drop it's petals and fructify as you were hoping, but I still think it's a very good video.

    Great work, this is lovely!
Would have been nice to close the cycle at the end with the pod popping open, shooting off its seeds. Capturing the exact moment of it popping would certainly be a challenge, even without the actual pop, ending with a still image with the pod gone would give an extra nice sense of closure.

How long does it take for the seed pod to dry up and have the seeds ready?

It's a bit all over the place in this video, not the 100% linearity of most of my videos.

I wish my poppies could grow so fast like this, I planted them 2 months ago and they're still so small.

I have some watermelon poppy seeds I have planted. Can you breed different color poppies if you have multiple kinds?
