It costs a little more to have a pre-spooled line, but when you're in the middle of a trimming job ruclips.net/user/postUgkx429xwEjNPnwzQohFrURRyKF51YfOD_Du , it is so nice to just pop out the old one and pop in a new one. Love Black & Decker tools. Especially the 20-volt battery operated ones. And, as usual, it came on time. Thanks Amazon!
You have to use the little yellow square button to lock the throttle in place for one pull first start. Push on yellow square button and squeeze the trigger till it locks in place. Choke and prime and one pull start it. Still works for me on my 4 year old honda trimmer:) hope that helps.
yea mate still till this day its going strong here also , the old straw hat offers plenty of shade hahaha , we have a country music festival in town once a year so they give out these hats for a gold coin donation so that makes it cheap option also!!!
Hey man try pulling the cord till you reach compression then let the cord go right back in then give it a quick pull and it should start first time I do the same thing with my honda mower and I always let the carb run dry
Hey Jono ...for the life of me I don't know how to replace the line. I tried youtube and net search to find an instructional video but no success. Are you able to please list a video on youtube so not only myself, but all ums25 owners can have instructions on how to replace the line? thanks mate
Can't go wrong with Honda power equipment. I use the same Honda trimmer as this one, Honda blower, Honda powered Atom edger and a Honda mower and can't fault any of them.
All the Honda stuff starts 2 pulls or less. Even the string trimmers. Change the oil properly and there is a good chance they may outlast the operator.
The reason that 2stroke is better is because it has higher rpm. Rpm is power witch means the engine will spin faster now 4stroke has a different kind of power it's rpm is less which means it has less power. Honda will tell you it is better because they just want to sell you something. I've studied small engines for a lot of years at a college. Now what you people have to know is that 2stroke is better
Ride 2 stroke and 4 stroke motorcross bikes and you will know the power difference. 4 stroke far more torque, 2 stroke higher revs. On a motorcross bike, 4 stroke gets the power down. 2 stroke struggles for traction. As a whipper snipper benefits from high rpm than torque, yes 2 stroke better of a whipper snipper.
sorry mate ,getting back to you so late, been busy ,havert been here........ we are just coming out of winter ( grass is dead ) so will do one as soon as the grass comes back to life ...cheers
Ziez Cogslaw: sorry for the late reply, but I just saw this, I have the same trimmer as shown on this video and I also had trouble at first putting the line on. Check this info out, it should help with the putting the line on properly powerequipment.honda.com.au/FAQ_Brushcutters
ive never used a straight shaft......they cost a lot more money , so i stuck with the bent shaft....thats what i had before...seems so work ok around the yard
jono pry Hey Jono just mentioned above if you missed it I spoke to honda and I am getting the same one as yours the guy where I am in Perth who works for honda said the 2 stroke is not more powerful than the 4 stroke it revs harder and has less torque.

You have a very nice clean back yard area . Grass is green clean cut and the cement is also very clean bright..
Thanks mate......I like to keep the yard neat and tidy 👍

For your information JetsareCool2 = No the 2 stroke is not more powerful, it just revs harder but has less torque.
My 425 is still strong after 4 years, just a prime and away. My Grandson see this video and says Granddad, mostly due to the straw hat

Have had mine for 5 years, looked after it and still runs good
Starting formula = Button to ON Choke Set, pull once, choke off, pull again, It will start!
Yea mate that formula worked well 👍
yea mate , they sound great

You're welcome. Yours is newer but looks like the yellow button is the same.

yea mate its good gear
All the Honda stuff starts 2 pulls or less. Even the string trimmers. Change the oil properly and there is a good chance they may outlast the operator.
thats all im doing with this one gav......changing the oil......thats good i will get my money`s worth
Is this the same model as honda UKS425U? Can’t find any details on servicing
The uks model is a straight shaft and the ums is a bent shaft mate.......they would be same engines tho 👍
thanks for the info man , i will try that method next time i use it
Jono P can you do some edging next time
Hello mate I hope you can do an edging video of your line trimmer
Hey mate i will see what i can do thanks for the comment i dont really do anything special when it comes to edges
hey buddy when might you do the edging videos for me mate
Of course after that as you know they start one pull always once warmed up.

$299 was onsale
Government is putting through legislation to ban 2 stroke engines lucky this one is 4 stroke.
That doesn't surprise me all 2 stroke stuff is on the chopping block......looks like everything is heading to battery of what I've seen
Jono you should buy a lawnmower
I had a old masport which was awesome I couldn't update!
You should upload again
U should update the Honda trimmer
@@BrothersLifeStyles sorry mate .... things changed over the years ....the trimmer was no long needed so I had to sell it
Do u not need a trimmer no more?
I also hate the sound of the Honda Trimmer
Ziez Cogslaw: sorry for the late reply, but I just saw this, I have the same trimmer as shown on this video and I also had trouble at first putting the line on.

Fucking hate bent shaft trimmers.
ive never used a straight shaft......they cost a lot more money , so i stuck with the bent shaft....thats what i had before...seems so work ok around the yard
....
I hate 4stroke. 2stroke is better and 2stroke has more power than 4strokes
4 stroke better fuel economy
EASTYJAZ34 oh yea use`s less fuel......which is good!!
yea i agree 2 stroke has more power......but the 4 stroke has enough power to cut the grass and i find it easier to use
jono pry Hey Jono just mentioned above if you missed it I spoke to honda and I am getting the same one as yours the guy where I am in Perth who works for honda said the 2 stroke is not more powerful than the 4 stroke it revs harder and has less torque.
Mark Nikoloski good choice mark.....had it over a year now...still going great
