The fall of the Berlin Wall

- The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 to stop an exodus from the eastern, communist part of divided Germany to the more prosperous west. Here, Berliners remember the night in November 1989 when the barrier between two ideologies was finally breached

Fuckin epic
He was drinking apply Cider
That’s happiness for Germans
It was only a beer…😂 not like he had vodka or anything.
Timestamp?
My mom told my sister and I how so many drove and loaded friends who couldn't drive into their vehicles to drive to the remnants as fast as they could as soon as they found out to celebrateand cry together and she still can't get through it without crying herself when she talks about it to this day. I get tears in my eyes myself every time.
Now, the same for Korea.
China will never allow it to happen.
Unfortunately, the world is going the other direction right now, even in the US.
Erich Hoenecker must have dreaded this moment. The wall was another example of man's inhumanity to man. Glad it fell!
Actually, the Wall came down at a boring government meeting, where an East German went over some paper work during a borning meeting about the rules of East/West German travel. At that time, it really was a reporter who asked when does the free travel between both side commence. To which the East German just said "immediately," and the reporter confirmed it. That was the beginning of the end. 2:29
Miss understood it or even mallice by one of the advisors of the council members
These are moments in history that must never be forgotten and if your schools arent teaching your kids valuable lessons its your duty and obligation as a parent to do so. If your children are being neglected mentally abused its your duty to defrnd and protect your children.
The hates are from Stalin
Krushev made the wall
Stalin was long dead by the time the wall was erected
@@nyedavis922long divided by the time the wall was established yes, but he did set a precedent by blockading the city and occupying Germany in the first place soooo
Stalin can cope and seethed
Even though I spent 21 years of my growing up life in the Cold War, I think I was a little bit preoccupied when the Soviet Union fell because I was sitting on the beach in California when somebody told me and I said "Huh... Cool.... Whoa! Look at that chick." And just kind of went on with the rest of the day. It didn't hit me for years that's something huge had actually happened.
А что грандиозное, в курсе сколько людей после этого праздника остались ни с чем!
You sound like the average American…
still crying, so wonderful
😂
I can’t believe these people delt with ww2 and some who survived that had to deal with this
I was three years old when the wall went down.
And I had just turned two.
04:34 willy brandt???? thats walter momper (mayor of west berlin at the time) and kohl ( kanzler of west germany)!!!
Makes me wonder in N/S Korea will one day reunify.
I remember watching people tearing at that wall with their bare hands, and just crying for days. I think I was about 12, so of course I didn't fully understand the impact of all of the things leading up to this, or how it actually happened, politically speaking. I just remember seeing the faces, and the people hugging each other, and I still cry every time I think about it. I wish there was a way to impress upon younger generations how big a deal this was, and how it still affects the way their world is today.
I find it weird that people less than ten years younger than me, and Im only 28, Dont know about east and west Germany and the Berlin wall. Im not saying I know everything about the Wall, but Im not ignorant to it
Well, I once too did not know about Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. They were dissoluted 9 years before I was born. The history books in school were indeed quite interesting.
unfortunately in my history book this historically important event was reduced to 3 sentences...
Nice!
John .F. Kennedy hmmm bullet in brain time
i wish i had gotten pieces of that Berlin wall.
My dad has a few
@@didsthecat1503 oh man he's lucky
Amazing
So I had a Grec husband, but then saw my protected from Isreal living in a hospital and I felt bad, as I'm from a democracy. I said, I'll leave my Grec husband and love to protect you. He smiled and said I understand ..... I was in 5th grade.
I was there.
Astonishing.

So the east part was struggling...didn't they fight with the alies?? Sometimes I'm so embarrassed to be American...
Uh…why? This is a great moment for not just Germany but also America the end of a corrupt regime and the unification of a divided people
Yeah they were struggling while the west thrived for a multitude of reasons (and the DDR was the most prosperous area in the soviet union…)
The Fall of Jake Paul
Oh happy day when Putin comes down!
Why do you dub interviews in English? Very bad journalistic practice
Jeezus, couldn't they just show the footage without the talking heads? I'm sick and tired of talking head documentaries.
...it was super... hahaghahgaghagha
😭 want same thing for india and pakistan
But Pakistan not
Never happen
It will happen, we just need to work together!
Sadly it’s not going to happen, East and West Germany was a artificial division brought upon a nation by a brutal dictatorship occupying half of the nation.
India and Pakistan are by their nature two distinct nations with different religions, cultures, demographics, ideologies, beliefs, values, ethnicities, and claims to one another’s territory
They are fundamentally different nations.
:)
This should happen in Palestine and mexico u.s. border
Why México? I'm from México and my country is not divided. The USA wall is right. Everyone is in their country as it should be. I don't like Americans, but they are right. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed. If someone wants to live in another country, it has to be in the right way, LEGAL. I don't like illegal immigrants in my country neither...
What other people do read: the fall of the berlin wall
What I do read: The fall of Berlin 🇨🇳

You are highly unintelligent
We have a world record with this comment. The longest time someone's head has been shoved up their own a*s! They probably don't even know that the 20th century is over.
The fall of East Berlin* and the rise of a unified democratic Germany free to pursue its own destiny! Such a inspiring moment!
How long is GOD'S OWN CHOSEN RACE going to live in WALLED-CITIES ?
