      No, the seams have never leaked on me. There's no need to seal the Lanshan 2. The Lanshan Pro does need seam sealed though, if you choose that model.

    • @icebearhikes
      @icebearhikes  5 лет назад +1

      The lanshan 2 says 2 person tent, but it's a tight squeeze for 2 people. I prefer solo camping with the Lanshan 2 so that I can bring my pack inside. The Lanahan 1 is a 1 person tent, no room for your pack.

      The tent comes with a rain fly, but no foot print. Is that what you are asking? It's a complete, waterproof tent as-is, but you could lay a tarp or foot print underneath to help protect the floor of the tent.

      This one has held up very well for me, considering what I've put it through. I've never sealed it, and it continues to keep me dry. The yellow color always attracts the bugs; they get in between the rain fly and the inner tent and buzz for hours. I've torn 3 holes in this one on the sharp little pinecones in Georgia... one patch came off, but one patch is still holding tight. I am going to change over to the 4 season inner tent this week and will do a video on it. I'll be taking it back to Georgia in February; hopefully the pinecones stay away! I have stopped using a ground cloth/tyvek with it. I have two friends who swear that they never use a ground cloth, and they've both owned their Lanshan 2's for over two years now. Overall, it's a great tent if you treat it well. I've been very rough on mine, but it hasn't let me down. 👍👍

    How do you get the vestibule line tight without raising the vestibule 2 ft off the ground?

    • @icebearhikes
      @icebearhikes  4 года назад +2

      That is a VERY good question! The vestibules are actually made to come up off the ground a good bit for optimum air flow. They can be adjusted somewhat lower if you lower your trekking pole height. I like to adjust the guy lines in different ways to bring it to a more desirable level too. I hope that helps!

    Still... The materials this tent is made off, are pretty stretchy, and the tent sags easily (does not keep shape = double walls touch = condensation drops).
    But I'll give few more tries with different stakes (longer), maybe change the tension ropes of vestibules (original are somehow stretchy)

      Oh goodness! That's no good! You can pull it pretty taut, but if the stakes pull up, it will sag like that. There are also loops at the top that you can run a paracord line through to tie off to trees, if that might help? I hope you can get it; wet sleep is no sleep at all! 😬

      I'm so sorry; I missed your comment somehow! It is fantastic in the rain. I've had it in several downpours and never got any water inside. It keeps me dry, and I know I can count on it to hold up. The previous one that I owned that had a manufacturing defect tore DURING a crazy heavy rain, and it still kept me completely dry. It has a very short bathtub floor, but it stays dry. I personally prefer a freestanding tent and dont mind the extra weight of them, but I cant say anything bad about this tent (other than the color- yellow attracts the bugs). I apologize; I have no idea how I missed your comment. Thank you for watching! 😀👍
