yep correct. Aussie beach worm and my dad plucks them out to use as fish bait when he's fishing on the beach. Basically exactly as the video showed, you use meat or fish to attract them to come eat it and then grab them, and drag them out of the sand. I was never really any good at it, most of the time would snap off a segment without getting the whole worm.

i could be wrong but from what i remember, unless you are a species that is specially keyed for diving (otters, ducks etc) it is incredibly unnatural. so many things go in to figuring out how to dive, it is not instinctive

My dog used to dive almost that deep as well, but searching for rocks instead. Today, she's about 16,5yrs old. Last year she had to surgically have 14 teeth removed due to her live-long rock chewing habits. But she's still here and I love and enjoy her company every day.

About 15 years ago, around 2am, I was in my old apartment complex's Laundry Room, hoping to get some extra wash done when a GIANT Cockroach appeared on the wall behind one of the machines. This thing was MASSIVE- still to this day, largest I've ever seen 1st hand. The size alone was enough to blow anybody's mind(I'm talking too big to step on w/out being grossed out- you know?)...but then, it started crawling on the wall at speeds I just couldn't believe...I was mesmerized "it was so big and so damn fast!" I thought to myself...having never seen anything like it before, I was frozen just staring at it...and then...and then, the bastard jumped off the wall easily 2-3 feet (which also blew my mind) and it sort of did this dip thing in the air and Yup, took flight coming directly towards me! Holy Shit, It may was well have been JAWS, I've never ran so fast in my life. So, I did escape but when I went back a few minutes later, there it was...right above the entrance/door frame...like it was waiting...needless to say, the laundry room and my clothes were both held hostage until it decided to leave... As I watched this video, I was not surprised at all. 😆

I had a german shepard that if you threw a fist size rock into the lake he would dive down and find that exact rock and bring it back to you. He was totally nuts.
My sister had a white German Shepherd whose absolute favorite toy was rocks. If you threw a handful of gravel in the air he'd try to catch as many as he could in midair, and he would carry bigger rocks in his mouth for hours at a time. He was a weird sweet baby.
Yes, we had a German Shepard that did the exact same thing. It was amazing. You just showed the rock to him and make sure you showed him all faces and toss it in the water. He would jump in a come out with the same rock. Once in awhile he would grab the wrong rock though.

I don't recommend trying to toss someone into a pool unwillingly. We tried once and my friend fought back and fell on his back and fractured a vertebra. We are only trying to have fun. Ended up in the hospital for the rest of the day. The bruise on his back was enormous.

That dog diving is genuinely impressive like yeah many animals not suited for water can swim but diving is a whole other level
Large dog breeds are often very exceptional swimmers.
Though I admit not even I have ever seen one dive before, that was something else entirely.

My sister had a white German Shepherd whose absolute favorite toy was rocks. If you threw a handful of gravel in the air he'd try to catch as many as he could in midair, and he would carry bigger rocks in his mouth for hours at a time. He was a weird sweet baby.
Yes, we had a German Shepard that did the exact same thing. It was amazing. You just showed the rock to him and make sure you showed him all faces and toss it in the water. He would jump in a come out with the same rock. Once in awhile he would grab the wrong rock though.

I don't recommend trying to toss someone into a pool unwillingly. We tried once and my friend fought back and fell on his back and fractured a vertebra. We are only trying to have fun. Ended up in the hospital for the rest of the day. The bruise on his back was enormous.
