- This was a K98 in a former life that would barely do 3 MOA. I bought this rifle from a guy in OH and then had it shipped to my FFL. The rifle is a 1941 BYF factory-mark matching SN# on bolt handle, receiver and barrel only.
It now sports the following
A 30-06 Lothar-Walter 26" bbl that was cut down to 24" and crown. I believe it's was called back then a F1 contour "hunting"
We used JARD INC trigger adjusted to a 3.8lbs and with speedlocker spring and the factory firing pin. I do have a lighten firing pin but saw no need for it. The lock time is short and the trigger is great as-is and the rifle is safe to operate.
The bottom metal is what I think is a milled trap door box. The action was arca-glass bedding top and bottom. I also had him true up a Win model 70 style safety by NEC

I do not recall where the butter-knife bolt handle if anyone knows who supplies these, feel free to leave details in the comments sections.
I had this work done approx around mid 2003 by the guncologist who was based in Pembroke Park FL
The gun was bought strictly as a project rifle back when Milsurplus was affordable and not blown up or overpriced. I believe I bought this action around later 1999 for 129 dollars.
