임성민 Wish we had Podolski tonight against Aston Villa. The whole team looked lethargic. We see off the champions, and City to go to the FA Cup final, and lose the plot against a team ripe for relegation.
I was born near Cologne where he played for years. And my parents come from the town in Poland where he plays today for Górnik Zabrze. His parents are also from this area in Poland. Because of this but also because of what a kind of passionate and nice guy he is we always had a connection with him. Been watching most of his games with my dad lately who is also a big fan of the club. If one day he ends his career in Górnik, we will cry. But we will also be happy we saw one of ours, such a brillant talent and wonderful boy play the game.
He got very limited play time. I wonder how many goals he could have scored if he got more minutes. Massively underrated. Powerful shot! I loved Poldi!
Did nothing wrong when he played. Never knew why he was treated how he was and we had giroud upfront. Poldi himself wanted to play centre but played on the left yet he was still great. I wish he was there. Wenger ruined him and disrespected him
love that he brings those basic skills to the game! but guessing from various interviews given by his mates lukas' biggest ability is his humanity and honesty.
I thought he was very similar to RVP in that he was a prolific finisher with a canon of a left foot shot. Shame he wasn't utilised up front as often as he should've been
He was good when he was in the right position, we should have used him like vardy where he doesn't get involved in the build up because when he did he looked average.
I am 12 now but I still remember those moments when he was in his prime at arsenal and I support arsenal like my family so it was heartwarming to see this
As a german I don't remember if it was Wenger or Löw who made him a left wing but I always hated it! For me Poldi was the definition of a pure striker. Him and Klose in 4-4-2 were so lethal
I was so happy when Arsenal got him. I loved watching him on the German national team and had high aspirations for him at Arsenal. Alas, those were strange days at Arsenal and, as many have commented, I felt that he didn't get enough time on the field during his short stay with the team. Regardless, I loved watching him play.
Has some unique talents but some major flaws. Wenger obviously disliked him for whatever reason and forced him out even though he was still a great squad option.
You know he is still playing? Just extended his contract at his childhood club in Poland for another year. They play first division there and he is still scoring outrageous goals 😊
Watching this video in 2023 because I loved this guy. Great player but even greater character! Loved his smiles and positive vibes. One of my fav Arsenal players. Seeing the comments below, had to say that Poldi was not much of a link-up playman and ball holder like Giroud. Having Giroud was better for the balance and front pressing from an offensive and defensive standpoint. While Giroud wasn't necessarily the best finisher on the team, he arguably helped the team more with his link-up play. Also, having Giroud up front provided better balance for the defence. Loved Poldi, but I kinda agree with Poldi being used on the left with his lethal finishing and left foot.
The signing of podolski, giroud and carzola signaled the start of quality signings, the start of an era where Arsenal said it will nvr be beaten down and lose its star players. Though those 3 were not world class, but they gave qualities that Arsenal was crying for. Podolski had a brillant left foot, giroud filled in the gap for a solid target man, carzola was a brillant dribbler. From then on, Arsenal began to sign more big stars to challenge for the title. Even though Arsenal is still struggling to find its feet after so many years, i hope that Arteta will restore the greatness that Arsenal used to had and build passion and love for Arsenal among the squad members. Its time to become title challengers and winners again
If Per Mertesacker was not in the team, Arsenal could have won. Podolski and Giroud was fine finisher. Giroud is by far one of the best flicker and aerial ball control which no Arsenal player could have done during those seasons. If they had Oodegard, Xhaka and solid back four, Giroud and Podolski would be goal machines
I used to like him when he joined us after RVP left. I thought he was the best RVP's replacement (not as good but still solid). Wenger did him dirty. Should have got more playtime.
untill now, i dont know what' s wrong with Wenger did to this guy, he can be trump card when team(season 14-17) in stuck(have problem in forward) like Klopp trust Bobi Firmino in his team 😅
Loved this bloke, under played and a great shame when he left.
His cannon shot was impressive. I like how he shoots
임성민 True, but he needs to shoot like that more often, and consistently.

I think one of or the most under rated in Arsenal history alway followed him after he left great player
If they put him as striker and Had Ozil supplying him and with a good , strong def mid like fabinho, this team would have won the title..
Sadly, Wenger just didn't have it in him anymore. His choices at that time sucked and sucked badly. His wonderkid Sanogo was the flop of the century
Did nothing wrong when he played. Never knew why he was treated how he was and we had giroud upfront. Poldi himself wanted to play centre but played on the left yet he was still great. I wish he was there. Wenger ruined him and disrespected him

A very good value for money. I wish he got more playing time. Cannon of a left foot
I thought he was very similar to RVP in that he was a prolific finisher with a canon of a left foot shot. Shame he wasn't utilised up front as often as he should've been
Wenger preferred his french flops
Underrated
yes very true
he is a quality striker , master of long range , superb shoots !
He was so magnificent those days.
He was good when he was in the right position, we should have used him like vardy where he doesn't get involved in the build up because when he did he looked average.
Thats what he did for Germany and he was prolific
I remember he was, BY FAR, the most clinical finisher in the PL at that time.
I love Poldi but your statement is simply untrue
@@GeneralPosh Wth are you talking about, its literally proven facts. He had most goals at lowest playtime at the time, check yourself, mate.
if we had kept him for the 15/16 season we might have won the league instead we relied on alexis and Giroud getting the goals. Brilliant player
I am 12 now but I still remember those moments when he was in his prime at arsenal and I support arsenal like my family so it was heartwarming to see this
...IMO didn’t get enough playing time and was very disappointed when he left he clearly enjoyed being at the club. That goal against Montpellier! 😍
I loved Podolski at Arsenal. The fact that he’s a gooner himself too makes it all the better.
I am fan of his home club 1. FC Köln and he is a absolutly legend here in cologne and he is an amazing player.
Wenger favoured giroud over this guy. Podolski was a beast on the wing and if given a proper chance he would have been a good number 9 too
love arsenal era with santi cazorla, lukasz podolski, and giroud
Carzola and podolski good partner
Really good player, he was underused and underrated.
Prince Poldi🙌

ONE OF MY IDOLS
Thanks for uploading this video again.
Has some unique talents but some major flaws.
Wenger obviously disliked him for whatever reason and forced him out even though he was still a great squad option.
Excellent i missed him
If he was playing i. 2015/16, Arsenal would have won the league
American here. 3rd gen German. Still my favorite player. Schwieni is a close 2nd... these were the dayz
wherever he went, they loved him
Wenger got this one badly wrong.
True star⚽️
I absolutely loved this guy. Shame what happened to him. Always a gooner for me...... brilliant player 👏
What happend to Him ?
You know he is still playing?
Just extended his contract at his childhood club in Poland for another year. They play first division there and he is still scoring outrageous goals 😊
Fucking love this guy my second favorite striker after RVP since Henry era
Underrated in England, had a short stay and didn't play a lot. His international Germany record says it all.

LEGEND!
Him n RVP were my right wingers in FIFA 12 Career mode. Absolute powerful left foots. He was in FC Köln I think.
Really missed this guy with santi Cazorla at Arsenal

Their national teams are WorldCup winners. Calling them world class is not an overstatement.
I miss him.
Him and EDUARDO were different class.
underrated
I don't why Wenger didn't like him. He never played most of the matches
Santi is everywhere here
Big star in Arsenal
Now that’s a hammer of a foot,
My wife had heard of Henry welcome to the world my first son Lukas ❤️
1:04 👌🏻
If only we had signed him 4 years earlier
3:16 ‘Arsenal are ahead’.....not very often you hear that these days, sadly.
Those days are back with a vengeance
Wenger killed this mama career
Wow nic one
Very good
i really miss podolski in Arsenal

untill now, i dont know what' s wrong with Wenger did to this guy, he can be trump card when team(season 14-17) in stuck(have problem in forward) like Klopp trust Bobi Firmino in his team 😅
German equivalent of RVP
Best of Germany 👏
wrong music
Accha German e ki muslims asa na.
He doesn't come in my top 10 strikers for arsenal of last 20 years.
Jeffers?
Sanogo
Amazing finisher but brought nothing else to the game. Never made runs, shit work rate. Thats why he couldn't play CF
