The golden years of the Ottoman Empire come to life in a television series. The life of Suleiman the Magnificent is preparing to be a guest in your homes in all its glory. Get ready to experience the era with ambition, loves, wars and all the struggle.
Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. If Nazli and Nilufer hadn't been killed in Valide and Shah schemes Hurrem would have found good husbands for them after service

Apparently it was very usual to marry a concubine,originally all of these girls were sent to the empire as slaves.
It’s basically a disrespect to the Valide aka the mother because only the mother can have these luxurious crowns and etc. But again it’s a tv series inspired by a true story, apparently by the books, Hurrem didn’t have many “fights” with the mother as the portray in the show.
I see your point, but imagine if Princess Diana wore a massive crown in the presence of Queen Elisabeth, who would wear only a small diadem. There was place and time for Hurrem to show her luxurious look, she acts all hurt and plays a poor victim while it is pretty clear she wanted to insult Valide Sultan, the mother of the Sultan, the highest person in harem. Like, come on, Hurrem didnt even try to earn respect from Valide Sultan, she expected everyone to just bow to her and be like "Aww, go giiiirl, yaaaas!". Apparently Hurrem couldn't get married to the Sultan until Valide Sultan passed away because among the ladies of the family Valide Sultan gets the highest position. Upon marrying the Sultan one would surpass the Valide Sultan in hierarchy hence "official marriage" can only be done once the Valide Sultan has passed away. Also upon marriage Hurrem was given the title of Haseki Sultan (first ever) that indicates her admission to the family and was allowed to bear more than one child. The Sultans most of the times, didn't officially marry the concubines because the position of Sultan is pious and marriage apparently affects the piousness.
Hm I don't really agree, valide sultan was considered as the strongest person after sultan. Even with marriage , hurrem is still below valide. Yes sultan didn't marry her before but not because hurrem would be above valide but because the order of harem would be lost, the rules don't allow marriage between a sultan and a concubine and valide was very traditional and always followed rules, so Suleiman respected her. Hurrem could not become above valide, valide sultan is always above any woman.

I always love crowns but that’s kinda ridiculous. It goes well with her personality of showing off but it’s quite poorly when it comes to elegance because it’s too showy. I definitely prefer one of her lastest crowns, one with huge rubies and closer to her head... marvellous and quite more refined. This was like: “look my crown :3” ...kinda childish.
Still I love Hurrem Because she was savage in the series an not a ridiculous kind and white heroine but a girl who suffered and became what she wanted and succeed by working every damn day between the very snake nest (or course she was an snake herself and the terror of other women).
