@@johnw5736 It can act similar to the alcohol burn but isn't from the proof necessarily. So it's the kind of burn or tingle you get from strong spices for example like ginger, Chile, pepper, Stuff like that.

As I think about the many, many different whiskies I’ve tasted, that doesn’t come to mind in any. I’ll have to look out for it. I have a B12 I am considering offering to trade for a B13, and if I do that I’ll look for barrel spice as I try it.

You can tell what batch it is based off proof. Google whatever proof it is with eh Taylor barrel proof and it will pop up.
