I mean technically it is poaching, but sulawesi shrimp are endemic (meaning they are only found in one spot) to Lake Matano, which has been RAVAGED with heavy metal pollution from local mines in recent years. Heavy metals are lethal to shrimp, so many of these shrimp (remember, they're *only* found in the wild in this specific one lake) are dying and rare shrimp are at risk of extinction. Unless there is immediate regulation of the local mining industry, and restoration of the lake habitat, these shrimp are safer in the aquarium trade :(
