    When card manufactures make mistakes they cover it up like politicians. Take zero responsibility and continue to screw customers.

      @@Yo_hio_sportscards Backyard is getting backyarded all these loaded cases along with other big breakers.
      The shadiness continues, who needs CT scanners when all the big hits are already predetermined on who they go to ??
      Panini is just like Big Pharma or Big Tech or whatever huge corporate entity lobbyists lining the pockets of corrupt politicians(in this case the Big Breakers) who push their narratives and create laws, tax breaks, and regulations to benefit them.

    The real problem is the numbered downtown parallels that were pulled. Those are the highest value cards due to rarity and so now they are going to be missing entirely or really really rare in regular hobby. I have seen regular DTs in hobby so far but have yet to see a numbered one.

    I’m no math surgeon , but 30 downtowns in a case says to me they are juicing breakers boxes to promote the product like they always have and they accidentally put a little to many in this time because the new factory didn’t know how much to juiced them without looking obvious. And if you bought a hobby box your odds massively dropped if you were trying to pull a downtown. And we just had the basketball sparkle packs where breakers were pulling 10-20 wimby’s. But also my not be malice, but incompetence and this new facility doesn’t no how or have the capability to evenly distribute hits through out the product. But this seems to alway fall on the side of the breakers and if I pull a downtown in my house it doesn’t go viral.

    • @richardc3693
      @richardc3693 Месяц назад +1

      Still goes to someone who bought into the break, not like the breaker keeps the hits, but definitely see your point they go more viral on the internet, creating more hype. Makes sense

    It doesn’t sound like they shorted stuff. It sounds more like the latter and they over produced downtowns to feed to breakers and people get pumped on the product and they sell more. My guess is sales are probably down just like the entire market and it’s a way bring people back in

    This seems like the simplest statement ever. They said they printed more than usual and put the extras in FOTL

  • @kartgal

  • @pfeiffdog0811
    @pfeiffdog0811 Месяц назад +1

    I get why this would be cause to question but in the grand scheme of things I think it is much to do about nothing. Ultimately I haven’t heard a number that suggests scarcity is overly affected if there were extra printed and if there is some cases missing then well that is unfortunately part of the gamble. That is why they say on ‘average’ for what to expect per pack box and case. This may seem like I am giving panini a pass and I suppose I am but I totally agree with any sentiment that panini needs to get their QA in check regardless of my feelings on this specific situation.

    So when are we going to see loose boxes of FOTL Optic being sold as "From a Hot Case" for double the money? I would say don't buy a loose box of FOTL hoping you get it from a hot case, no dealer is going to open a case and not open one box to make sure it is not a hot case. Also, I wonder if we will see some sort of range of case or box numbers that will identify the Downtown Hot cases.

    Let me start by saying I very much dislike Panini, but their statement is factually true. Like any good PR team for a company there is a ton of spin here. They of course like most companies did not provide actual numbers or impact, instead they just acknowledged the issue. They also didn't state which other products within Optic Football were or were not impacted, which I am sure was intentional. So people can make assumptions, which is their right, but Panini (at least in this statement) didn't say they printed more or excluded them from other products. Everyone is focused on the downtowns which certainly is the real issue here, but those cards are not exclusive to the FOTL boxes. The only FOTL cards are the 1 FOTL-Exclusive Purple Stars Autograph #'d/50 or less, 1 FOTL-Exclusive Purple Stars Parallel #'d/15, and1 FOTL-Exclusive Purple Stars Insert #'d/25 per box! So were those all included ...no one has reported getting shorted any of those, so their statement is accurate. They also acknowledged an issue with the collation, but that doesn't change the reality of what has transpired. Everyone who bought FOTL Optic has every right to be upset about how ~300 downtowns including some of the 1/1 and numbered downtowns that made it into the FOTL product at such a high rate. Those are the chase cards and having been pulled already is going to make the product suffer significantly since there is naturally just less to chase or the odds increased for hitting Downtowns overall. My problem with collectors is they act like Panini cant just decide to print more or less of anything they feel like. They have sole discretion over what is or is not printed. They want to include a downtown in every pack, they can do it. People treat these cards like currency, but if things happen and they feel they need to, then they just print more. Panini will 'right their wrong' by likely just printing more so that no one can say they 'did not' get something, but rather other people just got extra. Do you think they care about the 'value' of a Downtown? They could care less, they know that degenerate people will still buy the products they put out year after year. The only way to impact change is to demonstrate the power of the consumer by not supporting the company who constantly does some of the things this wretched company does.

      I agree with you, HOWEVER in this case we’re specifically talking about FOTL boxes which are unattainable to 90+% of people and that generally go to Panini’s top accounts. If this was simply retail cases I’d 💯 agree with you

    Panini knows what they are doing… if some of these are the same ones that can be found in retail I’m sure there’s some retail missing downtowns… there’s been many times in the past where influencers open cases and are missing case or box hits. The only way the light might get shine on these situations is if CC2, Packman, RGL, etc does their retail breaks/ case reviews and all strike out… it’s just funny how all the first hobby boxes magically has a shit ton of hits but they never mess up on retail.

    Meh. Who cares about Panini and Downtown inserts?
    I guess the people care who are lining up to pay $850 or so for a box. Breakers might care, too. People who drop four figures on shiny cards may take an interest. Oh yeah, and the repack sellers probably pay attention to this stuff. So, the people who approach sports cards as a form of gambling are all abuzz.
    Do any collectors really care, though?
    Before anyone lights me up in the comments, ask yourself this question:
    If you opened a box and pulled a rare insert of a player you collect, are you thinking about where to store/display it...or are you rushing to check how much it's worth?
