I did not write this song and I do not intend any copyright infringement. Rush-Mystic Rythms from the 1985 album 'Power Windows'. Enjoy! Check my channel for more Rush lyrics videos.
Power Windows is one of the rare albums that I can honestly say, every song is a favorite. The whole album is a legend. And this song is so powerful.. power of Nature and Life.
This album woke me up to the beauty AND the dangers of this world. Then finally, after 20 years of hard living came to the ultimate reality in God by crediting Jesus Christ as the source of all life. And as Rush points out, freewill is can be used for beauty or it can be used for destruction.Jesus the Christ put the ability to explore beauty deep into my soul when He became the King of my heart.Bless you and i truly pray you allow Him to save you from this dying world as well.In God’s sovereignty He let us chose who to serve with our lives and mankind is going to get us all killed.Jesus is our Way to the next age…..love from Oklahoma!…Brent
The last time I got so sad when someone I admire died was on May 1st (as a Brazilian, I admire Ayrton Senna, he is our national hero). I still can't believe it
@@valeskamartins I did not know who Senna was until Ford V Ferrari rekindled my interest in racing. Looking up various info on LeMans and Formula racing I discovered I'd missed almost 2 decades of fantastic drivers and stories. And Senna had a glorious run. My god, what a guy. From a formerly ignorant American - I must say - I feel cheated not to have known about him until recently. Salute. ( You guys also were THE best crowd Rush ever played for! Rush in Rio - holy CRAP! What a send-off to that tour! ) RIP Neil Peart.
This song still gives my skin the chills even after all these years. Brilliant lyrics and hypnotic music. This song gives hints of astrology, astronomy and mysticism relating to the human condition. Simply brilliant.
You've got three of the best musicians at their instruments whose interplay is always diverse, intriguing, and dynamic. Plus they are always moving forward, progressing, never safe in one genre or form. On top of that the Professor writes poetry rivaling that of the classics while Geddy and Alex craft music that moves, inspires, and sandblast the soul clean of all doubt and confusion. Masterful at helping us head, heart, and soul.
Ive tried that my self and he seems "just" good idea with all those humans slaughtered for no reason but jealousy I was more important and he is just an IDIOT lol
+relicofgold left my "grace under pressure" tee by the side of the road,,on a sunny day ,,watching honey buzzards near nottingham forest,,U,K still the grace has remained !!
***** Man, that's rough. I actually gave away my Meet The Beatles album from 1964.......it was some sort of releasing from material thingys spasm of mine. I will now hang myself.
Listening to this song while outside beneath a canopy of stars on a clear night and away from city noises, distraction and everything else is an amazing experience... especially if you ponder on the wonders of life
This song is so freaking magical. Was the first Rush concert that I attended and it blew my mind. Saw them 15 more times after this one and could've attended 2015 more and still would've been mesmerized.
The Professor was a genius of his own Art Form ....... Very skilled and Disciplined . Precise on the Drum Kit . -over 45 years Entertaining Us The Fans - World Wide .
I think Power Windows was, and still is, one of their best albums. This song is my favourite from the it. I've actually requested it in my will to play at my memorial service when I check out permanently (hopefully many, many years from now). It totally represents the daydreamer in me.
I saw Rush at Red Rocks. in Morrison Colorado.outside of Denver. the best place to see a concert anywhere. beautiful summer night .City Lights. Rush and Mystic rhythms
We flew up there from Houston to see them at RR. When the concert was over, we left via the upper exit. And I saw what I thought were stars in the sky...... then they started to move around. I thought I had ingested too much second hand "smoke". It was people with flashlights coming down from the mountainside trails to listen behind the venue. Excellent facility..
The first time I heard this song was during one of my first drives home from college night class. I was exhausted from a night of lectures and note-taking, but this song came on and eased away almost all the tension as I drove down a lamplit highway.
Lyrics and video are quite revealing... those with eyes to see know what I'm saying, right? "A canopy of stars," "Nature seems to move, in supernatural ways," pyramid hand signs... B&W "Moon footage" of the band... Slayer and Rush are still me 2 favorite bands!!
They're variety of sounds got very complex and they began to explore deep, deep lyrics. It's good stuff though. Back in the 70's though when they used to just rock out were good times too :)
maybe im to high but the lirics are zoming in and out in rythm. I fucking adore being able to feel this pleasure. Life is amazing because Rush is in it
I haven’t play this particular song in a couple years not for any reason in particular but to hear it again today with my headphones I could probably write a positive comment about every second of this song
Funny. The composition / arrangement / production of this song was very much "of its time," to the point of, even AT the time, there was a sense of "this song could get very dated sounding very fast." But strangely, maybe especially because this song was never TRYING to "rock out," and was content to be a rather lush, atmosphere / mood piece, it's still managed to age more gracefully than a goodly number of their other tracks of the era (as much as I like the overall composition of ones like "Grand Designs", there are moments that the production style and the arrangements make me cringe a little at the bygone "unhipness"). This is a track where you would go: "If you want to sound like the 1980s, but still manage to sound timeless--do it like this."
Anytime I listen to this song, I instantly escape the negativity of the outside world and find myself drawn into some kind of alternate universe, where wild safari animals run free, twinkling stars shine bright over city skylines all night long, and people who have great taste in music are spiritually 'beamed up' Star Trek-style into rock & roll heaven (at least that's the way I picture everything just by listening to the lyrics!) 😊
As time passes, there are many people that doubt the Holocaust. I hope that this interview reaches a ton of young people and that they can realize that this horror really did happen. Thank you, Geddy. You make the mishpocha proud.
+permaveg I don't know if its proof but I do think we share some energy fields and might be affected by our past and perhaps even the past of our ancestors. Thanks for posting about Morphic Resonance, I looked it up and it was quite interesting. Although I don't think morphic resonance has much applicability in the physical sciences, it would be interesting to see what such thinking could do for psychology considering that it is somewhat similar to Jung's theory of the unconscious.
+Fuq Privacieya Putting out information to anyone interested is what I like to do my friend. Sheldrake is one of those rare open minded souls, I came across him in the early 90s due to his views on crop circle's which fascinated me then as it still does, only later did I look into his Morphic Resonance work. I believe the Morphic Resonance matter is just another tool in our understanding of life, it's just knowledge after all. Thank's for your intelligent reply.
this album is a timebomb --- i totally overlooked it till now because of too much cheez-boards . seeing the lyrics helps alot. thanks for continuing to string us along for now ... i guess ...
Power Windows is the greatest album RUSH ever did. I’m a huge fan of all eras. This is the pinnacle. All the keyboard haters are missing out. This is their finest work front to back. It’s better than Moving Pictures and 2112.

I think this is their most immersive and visceral song, and I love it beyond reasoning.
Rush was in a class by themselves! What talent these 3 men had! RIP Neil. This is one of my most loved songs by the band! Yes women love Rush too!
Neil was a lyrical genius 😢
just another underrated song by an amazing band
RIP Neil Peart. Total duality of a man: musician and writer (thinker).
The last time I got so sad when someone I admire died was on May 1st (as a Brazilian, I admire Ayrton Senna, he is our national hero). I still can't believe it
Very intelligent dude indeed... High IQ

Well Said !
This album was chock full of visual imagery that was drawn from their instruments. Simply masterful.
+Sarah Bourque Tuned-in description..love it!
nothing paints a pictures better than sound.
You are so right. This song is made for headphone listening
You rock Sarah
Just what I wanted to say :)
Sarah Bourque it's brilliant
This song still gives my skin the chills even after all these years. Brilliant lyrics and hypnotic music. This song gives hints of astrology, astronomy and mysticism relating to the human condition. Simply brilliant.
Amen
I can only compare the feeling of this song, to leaving this earth and going somewhere way beyond this galaxy.
🙏
As an amateur astronomer since age 14, this song was a favorite at my star parties.

F: MAN, but I want some of whatever you're smoking! I, too, could use an ESCAPE from reality!
I think that Geddy Lee in Prison for 40 billion years I MEAN IT!! WOULD BE LOVELY TIME. lol
Ive tried that my self and he seems "just" good idea with all those humans slaughtered for no reason but jealousy I was more important and he is just an IDIOT lol
This song speaks to my very soul, man. In many ways, we're all connected. Never forget compassion for your fellow humans. They need you, too.
All fellow animals for we are animals too.
puckdropper27 Every Rush song is underrated, and don't kid yourselves, not even their best songs get enough airplay.
Amen to that!
Hearing this song after 1/10/20 hits so different
RIP Neil Peart
If this isn't a fantastic way to close an album out, I don't know what is.
I'm 46 and have been listening to Rush since I was 5, and still love their music.
Loved this album to death. I remember the tragic loss of my Power Windows tour t-shirt in Cabo San Lucas in 1993. I'm still not over it.
+relicofgold left my "grace under pressure" tee by the side of the road,,on a sunny day ,,watching honey buzzards near nottingham forest,,U,K still the grace has remained !!
my condolences for your shirt...i too have suffered loss....i had an airbrushed fly by night jersey .. :(
Such horrific tragedies. Maybe we should create memorials.
***** Man, that's rough. I actually gave away my Meet The Beatles album from 1964.......it was some sort of releasing from material thingys spasm of mine. I will now hang myself.
relicofgold lol
Hard to believe this is just three guys, and an amazing ton of talent!
A journey to the deep of the human soul... Thank you Rush!
This song is in my Top 10 favorite rush songs
Listening to this song while outside beneath a canopy of stars on a clear night and away from city noises, distraction and everything else is an amazing experience... especially if you ponder on the wonders of life
Mystic song, mystic sounds, mystic souls...
A masterwork of astronomical proportions!
Neil Degrass Tyson once said that he wondered why musicians don't write about the stars....Rush did years ago. Cygnus-X1.
This song is so freaking magical. Was the first Rush concert that I attended and it blew my mind. Saw them 15 more times after this one and could've attended 2015 more and still would've been mesmerized.
These lyrics are just beautiful!
The Professor was a genius of his own Art Form ....... Very skilled and Disciplined . Precise on the Drum Kit . -over 45 years Entertaining Us The Fans - World Wide .
this song is just a scent of how masters they were! Complex composition and lyrics. Absolute brillance!
I think Power Windows was, and still is, one of their best albums. This song is my favourite from the it. I've actually requested it in my will to play at my memorial service when I check out permanently (hopefully many, many years from now). It totally represents the daydreamer in me.
One of my all time favorite albums! I loved every song on it.

So many outstanding songs for decades....just love this band!
One of their best tracks !!!!!
This song song so haunting

Don't understand why rock fans don't like synth in music. This is FUCKING MINDBLOWING!
This was one song that could have done really well without any lyrics. The lyrics make it even better.
Only 88,000 views? This is a classic! At least there are only 3 people that didn't like it who are apparently from a different galaxy.
George Simon 5 souls are lost.
The first time I heard this song was during one of my first drives home from college night class. I was exhausted from a night of lectures and note-taking, but this song came on and eased away almost all the tension as I drove down a lamplit highway.
This is so 80's yet so artistical.
The best of Power Windows, hardest choice of all Rush album for me...just to prove this is a perfect album.
3:19 & 3:27 that trigger sound thing I just love, for some reason.
My favorite Rush song of all time
Good choice, it's my favourite from Power Windows

such an amazing track...the live version on an album I used to have will blow you away, seriously
I feel the powers of this music and wonder what they are
This song is as near as the bright center of the universe as can be, and as far as can be from it at the same time.
maybe im to high but the lirics are zoming in and out in rythm. I fucking adore being able to feel this pleasure. Life is amazing because Rush is in it

My favorite tune from Rush...
totally underrated album. f'n rocks!!
This song completes me in every way. Rush makes me feel that there's more out there to discover.
~Alakay
One of their best songs ever!
Rush were so awesome when they were doing synthpop.
They always were
Every time I hear that drum intro I get shivers
Right?
Thanks for all the great Rush songs - and the great sound quality!
RIP Neil.

Oh man, you brought *that* shit into a great Rush song?
Fuck off already!
Great idea putting up a Rush lyric channel! That’s the glue for our imagination, it’s eternal!
Best trio band ever good luck
Outstanding
took about 20 years but i finally caught the hamlet reference neil
This is the best song.
Neil has put in words the feelings many of us have, as Rupert Sheldrake said there exists a Morphic Resonance, this song is proof of that.
