I moved from an iPhone 14 pro to this phone and it performs just as well according to my personal usage. I do not play graphic and processor intensive games. I make calls, text, do social media, stream, and most of my games are offline. It suits my needs very well. I am satisfied.
Tbh the a11 was better for me it served it time it I'd now barely I have this a14 phone and it's so bad. I lag even on the lowest settings on my game. Money doesn't touch anymore and there is a huge delay for the user interface. When going and exiting apps it lags alot too. Take about 2 days to arrive and etc.
I'm glad you pointed out size, Samsung website shows this A14 5G being slightly smaller than the A13 5G, they list it as 6.5. Even T mobile website shows A14 5G as 6.6 inch. I will be going to look at A14 in the store, thanks for your review!!
For $200 this is an excellent budget phone. Even the con of the 8 percent marginally faster Exynos processor isn't truly a con. In my experience Dimensity processors are much more stable performance wise. Some don't like the bezels and the tear drop waterfall notch but it's still better than the iPhone mustache notch 🤣. You have to keep in mind the few cons are far outweighed by the quality you get for $200.
Exactly. You got it. For the price you can't expect much. But one huge plus is you get updates. I bought some cheap Chinese phones and they only give you a year of security patches and that's it. You'll never hear from them again and no OS update. Lesson learned. But Samsung will support 3 OS updates for a budget phone. Huge plus.
Yep, and I wouldn't even call this an entry level phone. I'm not that demanding (don't need a hardcore gaming phone), so to me it's middle of the pack.
@Net Wrench by 2023 standards a $200 phone is considered a budget phone. Doesn't mean It's horrible or anything. It's actually more than enough for most people aside from maybe tech nerds lol 🤣
The Exynos 1330 is why I purchased this phone over the old Dimensity 700 version. It reach 400k+ in AnTuTu vs nearby 300k of the D700. Very fast, and 5nm lithography will be a boon for battery life. I purchased an A34 for my daughter, and it feels almost as fast (400k Exynos 1330 AnTuTu score vs 500 of the A34 D1280). Anyway, both phones are bargains against Chinese counterparts in the most overlooked feature: software support. That pays for itself.
It has been released here in the Philippines yesterday for about PHP 14,000. The comptetion is tough here but for someone like me who doesn’t care about fast charging and doesn’t game too much, this phone is a good buy. I only care about a reliable camera, 5G, large battery and STABLE SOFTWARE and SOFTWARE UPDATES. Yes, I have to give emphasis on STABLE SOFTWARE and SOFTWARE UPDATES because those things have been overlooked by many and when it comes to software, no one has nailed it like Samsung did even on their budget phones. One UI has always been my favorite. It’s very easy to use for every generation, kids, teens, adults and even the old ones. It’s still no match for iOS but it’s always the best Android skin out there. The execution of software-hardware performance is also superb. Dimensity 700 was released on 2020 but it seems like Samsung has optimized it very well for this phone.
I'm also from the Philippines and what you've said is true. I think this phone is a must buy and this might be the phone that I'll buy since I'm a Samsung fanboy haha
Agree. I personally think that the software stability and camera plus battery is enough for me. I'm not much of a phone gamer as well. I've been eyeing this phone for days now.
@@benjohn6030 well, you’re not the only Samsung Fanboy here. Hahahaha. But I became a Samsung fan because of One UI. Not to mention, on 2019, I benefited a lot from the Samsung Members App. You know, free meals from Jollibee and McDonald’s. Hahahaha
I got it for only 12990 pesos with free battery pack and free 25w adapter since it doesn't come with an adapter out of the box. So far so good i have no complaints, it performs well.
Thank you so much for your review that it made me buy this one. I bought this phone i love it. I went from a super expensive phone that broke on me after a few years so imma try this one. So far i love the battery life. And the feautures in phone not bad neither and camera is superb. I love that irs more true to color when taking pics of items. Especially if i need to sell something online. Everyone needs to get this phone. Its great.
this is a very bare-bones phone, it does everything you want a phone to do. it calls, texts, takes pictures alright (in my opinion) and is very budget friendly
not really, the very bare bones phone in 2023 imo is the infinix hot 30i , that one is the most basic sht u can get but it offrs similar spec to this a14, and its much slimmer , 90hz display, just the processor is weaker . but it is super damn cheap
I am buying this in about 14 hours as soon as it launches here. Based on the dimensions, it's a powerbank configured to be a smartphone 😂 But it's 5G and affordable, and has lot of Pros. So..
One thing I like about Samsung is they still use the six small button quick settings layout. The newer design I've seen with four huge buttons looks atrocious. A couple of questions, though: - Can you get rid of the At A Glance and Google search bar on the home screen? I'd hate to have to download a second launcher just to be able to fully customize my home screen. - Can you change the lock screen clock from the (again) atrocious over-sized design?
64 GB is fine with expandable storage. Less than 1 TB is a hard pass from me on non-expandable storage and even them I am made of not having the option, so I given the choice I would take this device over an S series phone.
Got this free with a new line through Metro about 3 days ago. Used it for an hour and became very bored with it. No dual speakers. Laggy at times. Camera is horrible in low light. It was free so it’s not like I lost money. Decent at best in my opinion.
Had the 700 processor in the Moto G 5g it was lagging & glitches on the phone with one year running. Maybe Samsung had make it run better. But Motorola had no bloatware on the phone & their phone run smooth with capable processor. Not buying another mediatek processor. Had the A03s as my work phone. Can you install and store apps on SD cards for this phone? Big issue I have with my current phone is that even though I can expand the storage, I can't put apps on the external card, even after formatting as internal storage.

The Exynos 1280 in the A53 was supposed to be great on benchmarks but every big review on it from tech spaces and regular users said it was laggy and couldn't do simple things right. Trust me, if you'd gotten the version of the A14 with Exynos, you wouldn't have even been able to play games or even open apps without serious lag. I do agree the bezels are hideous but all of Samsung's budget phones follow the same design language. Maybe by the time the A15 5g is released, they'll change it up some. The bigger con for me is a single bottom firing speaker, even budget phones from 2020 had dual speakers.

What I don't like about the phone buying process these days is that no one mentions NFC or Bluetooth LE. Devices that do not have NFC don't list it in their stats, and devices with NFC ALSO don't list it in their stats. So. Does the A14 have NFC and Bluetooth LE? Wireless charging?

Hate the screen shot taker. The volume display shows up on right side of picture unless you are lucky n push the buttons in just right! I use mine often so this was disappointing.
I'm thinking of switching bc it's so leggy and slow, I don't have any of the og features I had with the s series like screen recording and time-lapse etc. I'm dying to get this off my hands
2023's 1st budget 5G Device with no true competition (until another manufacturer comes out with something compatible), minimal Cons and plenty of Pros with the A14 5G (2023). 😃
In China, we have $100 US phones called Xiaomi and Redimi. But those aren't available around the world. It's good to use for burners and playing video games.
@@herohour6496 I'm from Chile (south America) and i can say Xiaomi and Redmi are very present in out market. Only young people use those because of the games, but they are VERY unreliable when it comes to updates. Serious people (30-40 years) do preffer Samsung or Iphone. Regards
I usually turn 5g off on my phones d/t battery and 5g is more buggy. 5g gave more efficient bandwidth to the companies and will help them allow more users but I don't see it much of a customer desire. We were tricked into thinking it helped us so we would be motivated to pay extra for 5g phones.
My dad is getting a "free" new phone he was recommended this phone and a google pixel 7 pro to choose. Which would be better for him. Hes a worker but he still takes photos and videos of his life.
I am in Europe so did I got better processor? Con is that edges of the phone are sharper then in Redmi so holding the phone for longer time is less convenient. 👍 up for video.
When the screen blacks out, can you tap the screen to turn it on? I have to push the button on the side of the phone. Is the tap screen an option to turn the screen on?
I paid $60.00 for this phone from an individual who had it for just 2 months. I think that is a decent price, but I am stuck with Cricket wireless for 6 months before I can switch carriers. That is because the original owner had Cricket and they lock the phone to their carrier for 6 months before you can switch. I prefer Patriot Mobile, so I plan to switch asap. The 64GB of internal storage is just fine for me, because I only plan to use this phone for emergency calls, texting, Facebook and controlling my WiFi connected professional sound system. I've been without a cell phone for over 3 years, so I have no desire to keep my entire life on my phone. I built a $6,000.00 PC for that.
I pushed something on mine it activated a woman kinda navigating me and only touple tap was available couldn't scroll if I did it was say A,B,C had to factory reset just bought this ...not sure how I activated this touple tab and Women talking..
Any "new" phone under $300 would be a welcome addition. I hate searching for phones and all I see are $800 US and up. Seems life is all about spending a sh-tload just to play video games and chatting on IG.
Personally I would never pay more than $300 for a phone. People paying $800 - $1000+ for very small upgrades are absolutely insane. It's their choice if they want to throw their money away I guess.
u can google and type in comparison of those two phones , friend. there are alot of websites did comparison and will detect the phones you typed on google . so search it up and see for yourself.

Hate the screen shot taker. The volume display shows up on right side of picture unless you are lucky n push the buttons in just right! I use mine often so this was disappointing.
I fullagree with you....the down volume graph shows on the screen shot....very annoying
You can take a screenshot by swiping across the screen.
I'm thinking of switching bc it's so leggy and slow, I don't have any of the og features I had with the s series like screen recording and time-lapse etc. I'm dying to get this off my hands
Why does it seem like I have 50% battery before noon and I'm not overly using my phone?
Regards
Show more on the double tap on and off feature please
I usually turn 5g off on my phones d/t battery and 5g is more buggy. 5g gave more efficient bandwidth to the companies and will help them allow more users but I don't see it much of a customer desire. We were tricked into thinking it helped us so we would be motivated to pay extra for 5g phones.
I’m looking into this phone to save up and buy a new iPhone. It looks really good.
when is it going to be available in South Africa?
Супер телефон❤❤❤❤❤
I'm going buy the OnePlus Nord 20 next week which one should I buy a14 or Nord 20
Will this work on the Verizon network?
It should but you should contact them to make sure.
Smartphone's,5000mah batteries,Turbo power chargers and fast charging watts make the whole world go around lol🤗🤗🤙☝️💯🔥

I am in Europe so did I got better processor? Con is that edges of the phone are sharper then in Redmi so holding the phone for longer time is less convenient. 👍 up for video.
This will be my next phone to replace my trusty Samsung A3 2017. Need a newer version of Android to support banking apps etc.
When the screen blacks out, can you tap the screen to turn it on? I have to push the button on the side of the phone. Is the tap screen an option to turn the screen on?
Yep it should be in ur settings, double tap to turn it on and off, you can also set it to turn on when you lift the phone up
I paid $60.00 for this phone from an individual who had it for just 2 months. I built a $6,000.00 PC for that.
theres a galaxy A14 variant with 128gb rom and 6 gb ram

Any "new" phone under $300 would be a welcome addition. I hate searching for phones and all I see are $800 US and up. Seems life is all about spending a sh-tload just to play video games and chatting on IG.
Personally I would never pay more than $300 for a phone. People paying $800 - $1000+ for very small upgrades are absolutely insane. It's their choice if they want to throw their money away I guess.
Peak brightness nits?
how good is the phone service
I have an A52 5G...is it good to switch to A14 5G??
u can google and type in comparison of those two phones , friend. there are alot of websites did comparison and will detect the phones you typed on google . so search it up and see for yourself.

Is this device compatible with the Samsung Series 5 watch since it's running a "core" version of the UI?

Did I get a defective phone? Every night my Galaxy A14 5g starts buffering a lot or reads no internet service. Why?
My A20 does that twice a month right before it gets dark.
Bought mines for $80 from boost
I dont understand why plastic is shunned. Glass is overated. I want a matte plastic back. i love the iphone 5c. Plastic is cheaper and i dun mind scratches on my plastic

A14 5g or A23 5g?
Obviously the 23 5G.
@@SapphireG7 why?
Apples newest entry level iPhone SE has 64GB and retails for $429.
They must be using a better chip then in the a23 5g a53 5g that are at times horrible laggy and slow.

I have the Samsung galaxy A13 5g
