Getting one of these tomorrow for $1000 cash. 1990, 46k miles, starts but doesn't stay running. The sound alone makes me think it will be worth the troubles of figuring out the issue. Lol
@@void7365 those regulator rectifiers was one of the problems the previous owner of mine had, the factory rectifiers are kind of crappy that go out quite often. He replaced two of them before swapping it out for a GSXR 1000 rectifier conversion kit, they work way better. There might be a few kits you can buy but I'm not sure you'll have to look around. I thought your bike and the surrounding terrain looked familiar... Then I saw your plate. I've definitely seen you around last summer. I love your bike! Sounds awesome. You accelerated past me once before and I appreciated it. Haha! Upload more on your bike. Heck, I'll do a video review of your bike come riding season if you're interested.
@@davidbrinton02 Sorry about the late reply - things suddenly got hectic. Anyway, that would make sense because I've seen the two of you ridding around before. And yes I'd like to do a video. I'd like to do an informative review but I can also get rollers for yourself if you'd like.
Just found your video and absolutely love the sound... in regards to the custom headers, is there any brand that makes something similar to what you run??? would love to replicate that sound when i get my own VFR soon
Black widow headers are the only ones I've heard of, but that are absolutely horrible quality. I've had friends that had bought them and they had to rebend the pipes to make the fit as well as cut and re weld to grind out the insides of the pipes. You can buy them but just be ready to make adjustments to them
I'm thinking of buying one of these & installing full headers & a delkevic exhaust. Do you know any good air take mods, jet kit & how much power you can get out of it? I love old school bikes & a carbed V4 with gear driven cams sounds like a jet nascar & moto GP all in one! I'm also '6, 4" so would it fit my height?
All the mods that are done to the bike are in the description of the video, but if you want to do a air box mod you can delete the snorkel. I'm 6'1" and it fits me great nice comfy ride.
Maybe a bit since it's carbureted not sure about the stock jetting, but since I put bigger jets, a filter and deleted the emissions, I have noticed a slight decrease in gas mileage. But probably not too much to really matter, I'm not concerned about fuel mileage when I go on rides lol. Just trying to have fun
Well, a difficult question. When I use the factory exhaust on my '93 RC36, I also have the impression that it's a great design: it starts well, it's torquey from idle and the sound is really well sorted - at lower speeds. And that's my problem: up to 30 mph / 50 kmh you can hear some rumble, it's ok for the city and narrow mountain roads, but above that it's nothing but wind noise. Maybe I'm a vintage guy but sound is essential for me (it shouldn't be loud, just a little bit lively) so I use a rear can that's somewhat louder than the original one. Emotionally it's two worlds for me: fine understatement vs freaking beautiful riding experience.
First time I heard the V4 engine sound from Honda, I just realized I need to have one. I love my VFR750F
63,000mi and still going strong, I love these engines can't forget those gear driven cams either
The sound of an américan V8 in a motorcycle!
my brother had one when i was a kid, hearing this gives me goosebumps, and i just realize i need one too xD
@@Eugenik83 If you can't find a VFR, the R1 makes a similar sound due to its unique, big bang firing order.
@@aka_pierre what about the 1983 honda vfr 750 interceptor would that have the same sound.
Sweet what a clean example and thanks for fly-by, instead of just sitting there revving like some do.
The best bike ever made from Honda, in my opinion.
Man i thought mine was cool but that’s insanely brilliant well done and the fly by is brilliant too thanks

They have disc brakes front and rear from the factory.
Even the CB500 got a rear disc brake from 1996

Stock perfection in this situation? Bruh... Stock has only sense according to the ecology. There is no more reasons to keep the original muffler.
