I stopped buying Starbucks years ago , overpriced and loaded with sugar , their lattes are watered down, you can barely taste the espresso, I go to small independent coffee shops which is cheaper and tastes like real coffee . Ask me I know coffee , I come from Colombia 🇨🇴
Only go to Starbucks when I'm away from my local coffee shops now. I went to Starbucks this past Saturday and had to ask the the barista for a stirrer. This location no longer has the station for stirrers. sweeteners and etc. Saving money I guess lol. Between that, the taste now and prices, they lost me as a customer.
How is you coming from Colombia relevant to knowing what good coffee tastes like? Are you guys a coffee country or something? I only know Colombia because of the beautiful Colombian neckties I keep coming across on Twitter.

I agree. I make my own cappuccinos and lattes at home now. It’s much cheaper and tastes better. I can hardly taste the espresso in a latte from Starbucks.
Bought a $800 coffee machine that gives me 19 choices on a touchscreen and I have never looked back. That was an investment and over the course of a year has actually saved me money by not going to Starbucks and the coffee quality is so much better.
I graduated college 10 years ago and went into a 6 figure career. I would hit the Dunkin drive thru 2-3 days a week and get a coffee and sandwich and the total was $4.87. Then it went up to $4.93, $4.98 and just kept creeping up, over $5, over $6, over $7 etc. Somewhere between $6 and $7 I started going once a week, then once a month. The convenience no longer outweighed the value. I rarely go nowadays, never before work, only when traveling. I was genuinely shocked the last time i went and the order was over $9. It served as a reminder why I stopped going.

I could not agree more. Even at 6 figures in this economy, you gotta be responsible with your spending. Taxes takes a bigger bite out of your salary in that higher bracket too. I have brewed my own coffee at home for years. I only hit up Dunkin in a pinch if I am out on a road trip, otherwise I bring my own brew in a metal thermos. I order 5 lb bags of coffee beans, grind and brew my own stuff. Saves a ton of money over time and the quality is so much better. It's like that old saying "You can't beat home cooking" ....well you also "Can't bean home brewing" lol 😎

@@Tendertroll1 Sorta, more like the value. Being intentional with spending has allowed my wife and I to buy a nice house, have 3 kids all while paying off $285,000 in student loans and building a $1.2m nest egg at the ages of 38/42 respectively. If I'm spending $30/week at Dunkin or Starbucks and my wife is too, it averages to $260/month. If that amount was being invested instead of spent it would have turned into $60k over the last 10 years, $30k of which would be from growth. And small choices like that add up. Over 30 years thats $750k-$1m. But people will still tell me they would rather have expensive coffee instead of $1m. But really $260/month invested on a fund that can return 12% over a 45 year working life becomes $4.5m. Thats the true cost of having someone pour your coffee for you.

I think some people forget that a very small amount of sugar can actually be a good thing. It’s just that people always exaggerate and do too much like always with everything, moderation is key. You can also use NATURAL sweeteners like a little bit of honey. Nothing has to be black and white. You can have a happy medium with moderation, not everyone has to have the diet of a diabetic

The only thing that CEO did for chipotle was raised prices that works in the short term but now everyone just hates chipotle. I don’t see what he’s gonna do for Starbucks.

@@ca8944 there isn’t, 3 out of the last 4 times I’ve been to chipotle around lunch time there was no line or a single person. And that’s not the point, chipotles reputation for years was fresh ingredients, large portions and good prices. Now what is the discourse around chipotle? It’s that it’s too expensive and small portions. That CEO made more profitable in the short term, he didn’t necessarily make great improvements to the company.

burnt roast, premium price. last time i stood in line, i was the only one who ordered an actual coffee product. every single other person in line was buying desserts posing as "beverages." the barista couldn't figure out my order and after two failed attempts, i walked out. i paid for the last lesson starbucks ever needed to teach me.

if you want a more gourmet coffee than your average home-brew- there are SO MANY new little private cafe's with their own ground coffee preparations that you can nearly always find a great cup WITHOUT spending the kind of money it takes to go to starbucks. the more local you buy, the better for you and your community.
Haven't been there over a year, 2 drinks paid alomst $13. Ridiculous...charged me 75 cents for Almond milk instead of regular milk too.
Im an English man living in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. I was back home recently in Chester, UK. My gf bought a starbucks...... no idea what type it was apart from being large. It was $12.00 after the exchange rate !! ( about 7.00 pounds. ) 😮😮😮😮 Now thats ridiculous !!

I was going to starbucks for a couple evenings/on weekends to study there for a professional test, I spent a bunch of money and gained a lot of weight because their coffees are basically ice creams full of sugar and fat!
I can tell you that if Starbucks raises their prices, and doesn’t offer deals I will cut back significantly. I will go back to black coffee and make it home.

Had that same exact issues with the online app ordering but at a diffenet restaurant. I was a walk in waiting an hour while everybody making online reservations were being seated first . The hostess was not prioritizing correctly.

Starbucks USED to allow you to edit the amount of sugar in their refreshers and whatnot. In 2020 I would get a venti guava black tea lemonade with only 2 pumps of liquid sugar. I ordered a refresher about a year ago and they wouldn’t let me modify it, haven’t gotten one since
I LOVE coffee. But for all the reasons you mentioned on your show I don’t stop by any coffee shops in the morning. I buy good beans and make a pot at home every morning. My daughters went through a concerning phase growing up where they bought sweet teas and sugary drinks, but they have a foundational understanding of nutrition and thankfully limit that kind of drink on their own now.
You guys should have a complete coffee area fully stocked. Keep the crew happy they deserve it. I hear about your big party every day and wish I could go. It’s not in the budget. But I love this channel and watch it everyday. Thank you all.

I go to Starbucks to see how well the economy is doing. I have noticed over the last 6 months that Starbucks has severely cut back on staff and they are cutting costs everywhere. This tells me the economy is not doing well at all.

The problem is with the amount of labor managers can schedule. Very often they don’t have the manpower on the floor to have a great and speedy customer experience.
Currently at my friend's restaurant, it's empty while the other three nearby are bustling with customers. I overheard a conversation among inexperienced individuals discussing the possibility of increasing prices. I had to laugh! I had to ask them are they crazy!
I started buying directly from Geva, a local roaster in TX. Best coffee ever - every flavor I've gotten has been amazing. I make it black with a little bit of butter for richness. Delish.
Starbucks sucks when it comes to charging ports to charge your devices and making it a suitable environment for studying. It’s turned from a comfy coffee shop to a fast food line.

I'm 59, and I've been had a Starbucks product. Our home and cars are paid off. We don't use credit cards and never went to college.
I bought my wife an all in one espresso/coffee machine for her birthday last year. She is a nurse who works nights and needs her coffee. She always had a Starbucks in her hand until I got her this. Now I just buy her a $15 bag of Starbucks beans every couple weeks and that is all the money we give Starbucks. Maybe her not buying Starbucks every day is the reason their prices are going up.

I was getting dunkin and paying $3.41 for a cup of coffee… when I saw those prices I switched to Cumberland farms. $1.60 and it tastes different but still tolerable. I’m not paying crazy numbers for coffee. These coffee companies are just gonna have to go out of business for mismanagement. Sorry.

No one makes your coffee the way you like it, why pay someone to do it when you get buy your own beans, grind them and make your own to go? I have been doing this for years. I personally don't like their coffee, the only treat I buy from Starbucks once a blue moon is there black tea/lemonade sweetened and only if I am out away from the house and really need something to drink (I usually always take water with me but on the off chance I forget then I will get the tea from Starbucks). They are way too expensive and when I see people buy everyday it just floors me the amount of money people waste on buying coffee! Bring your own coffee machine to work if you need it during the day or bring a thermos of it! And people wonder why they have no money!

I never buy Starbucks or Dutch.
Starbucks coffee is generally pretty good. However, it so annoys me they don’t make dark roast after about 10:00. Back in the day, they would make all different brews, including various specialty beans. And would brew light and dark roasts all day. When they moved to pikes place roast as the standard coffee and stopped brewing the other varieties of beans in store, I stopped buying their coffee.
I have had coffee everyday since i started my medical residency 35 years ago, yes I know I have a caffeine issue, other than vacation/ travel never drink store bought coffee, Starbucks is biggest waste of money
