Microsoft has taken the road of charging for any minor feature. And 3$ is a LOT for functionality that should be there on the main licenses not in Add ons
This all seems like fairly basic stuff as well like "make site private" and "get rid of sites we aren't using". At least include it in the higher m365 business/enterprise bands or with entra p1. It's a shame that tools to better manage permissions aren't included as well as Sharepoint is notorious for being spaghetti under the hood
I agree, As someone who manages many endpoints in Intune. I appreciate all the features Microsoft continues to update/release. But this nickel and diming for charging $3 for every little new feature is ridiculous.
Great overview! I was going to push this as a way of getting a better chronological audit trail for user actions in Sharepoint, like who moved a file or folder, deleted or modified a document etc. But looks like this is not possible? I thought "change history" would do this, but it is only a report showing admin changes to settings in Sharepoint?
Hi Andy, great video! Does the SharePoint Advanced Management license include SharePoint Premium (Syntex)? Or do you need a different license for Premium?
Hi Andy - really great video! Was wondering - regarding the Site Level Access Restrictions. To do this would each user need a license or can one Global Admin have a license on their account to do these restrictions and it will drill down to all other users. Thanks
Great video as always Andy! Quick thought about the OneDrive restriction setting. Would this setting mean that essentially all users that are not part of the groups you scope lose access to their own OneDrive as well? We can already controll what users get a OneDrive and who doesnt via Group based licensing. So is there any extra benefits to using this new pro feature rather than the "oldschool" way that you've seen yet?
Hi Andy! Firstly thank you sooooo much for the videos you make, I recently took M365 into my tech stack and I’m trying to get a grip on everything. I noticed I can get a user license for this for just £2.50p/m… do I need to license every user to use it as an admin? Or is it really just £2.50 per admin?
@@AndyMaloneMVP thanks so much, I see you do courses, do you also do paid consultancy days? Would be interested in your views for a couple of days workshopping with my EUC tower.

Can someone please tell me though… is it $3 that you have to step up every user or just the user that needs to use the advanced management tools??

You need to enable compliance auditing in Microsoft Purview in order to view these reports
@@AndyMaloneMVP Found it, thanks!
Is there some overlap with Purview features, i.e. does this seem to be a sort of Purview-lite set of features?
I don’t think so

No it is separate.

User based.
Do you know how much is 1TB storage of SharePoint? Thank you

This is a more defining policy. Security groups tend to be more restrictive than Microsoft 365 groups as their permissions are more granular.

Unfortunately you cannot. There is no access to the admin centre from home or family editions. Sorry😊
getting really sick of all this nickle and dimming on features that almost needed to properly manage these products.
Please don't blame the Messenger :-) Besides if everything stayed the same, you'd be out of a job.
