@londoninflames I only got into gw by 40k 3rd edition and how the lore has changed so much. I once and I wish I hadn't sold it original rogue copy it was more a squad based game with some vague vehicle rules tyranids were way different. You could have space marines or eldar kind of working together and the grenade rules were autistic awesome given you can have gas grenades that may make them inert, die, kill each other. Kill everything near them till the end of game, or give them a moral boost.
Alrighty, "we've played a buncha D&D, I'm sure we'll be able to explain how this system works" is a strong contender for the funniest thing I've seen in the last three days.
Was that a White Dwarf though? I remember hearing that former GW chairman Tom Kirby saying that, though that may have been arrogance more than anything.
choice of outro music and musical stings throughout the video was a solid choice! Caption: "Hold me Claryice, I don't care that we're roughly drawn! At least we have each other!"
So in the 90's, the Dalling Road GW moved a short distance onto the Kings Road in Hammersmith, about the time they moved head offices to Nottingham, but until the till systems changed, it still had the Dalling road Address on the receipts, because noone could figure out how to change it.
I really hope the keeper of the flame returns with famous 40k characters like Kharn the Betrayer and Ghazghkull Thraka talking with Nurgle and the Big E himself.
If you want to add real life fear and excitement to an rpg fight use the delve rules from some cons. Do a combat encounter in 45 minutes of real time. If time runs out, you die. A battle clock ramps up the excitement to see if you can finish off the baddies.
I know this video is 4-1/2 years old but from what publication is that amazing fold-out at 3:19? A later edition of Metamorphosis Alpha? It looks like they nabbed a prop from Red Dwarf or any late-70s/early-80s sci-fi movie or TV show and overlaid my favorite typeface (Eurostile extended!) over top of it. I need to know more!
I recently found your channel and have been binging lots of vids. I played 2nd Edition from 1996-2003. I was always into the old models, like the Beakie Marines. Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and enjoy your work.
The lack of direct competition in D&D is part of what allowed games like 40k and Magic the Gathering to take off. You still get your complexity, your imagination-stimulating environs and characters, but now you could determine a clear winner in a couple hours or so. Saw a lot less tournament D&D and a lot more tabletop and later card tournaments as 40k and MtG grew in popularity.
It's always fun seeing how awkward Snipe and Wib are then they do their "call to engagement" segment :D I think I'd be similarly awkward, if I had a RUclips channel.
As always loving the music choices for the videos. Hoping we’ll see Dark Millennium soon but I would forgive it for taking a while. It would have to be a big episode.
Such amazing video about issue 1! White Dwarf no. 1 costs so much money to buy it than I'm so glad I could see all pages with you. More historical content with not really good value. Good luck gays.

I actually can't comprehend the comic strip. I've spent so long trying to figure out the punchline and it eludes and taunts me from the shadows of my mind
Yup. It was from a movie called Mazes and Monsters. It was made in the 80's during the "Satanic Panic" where lots of things were linked to Satanism in the US. This shows the story of a crazy kid going even crazier because of DnD and murdering hobos in the sewer.
Have you seen the games for the "Old School" RPG's. Dungeon Crawler Classics reveres themselves of having a tough gameplay to the point where you need four characters for level zero and whoever survives the first attack wins. They call it the "funnel level". Plus, they have some neat artwork if you're into old school pictures from AD&D.
GW would go on to move to a much larger store in Hammersmith, but that would close down some time in the mid 00's due to I presume budget cuts. Was a shame they had an entire Ultramarines company on display.

Here's an idea:
Cover the 3rd edition Tau codex and for the episode refer to yourselves as Snipe and Weeb.
…
I'll see myself out.
We're not mad... just disappointed.

8:23 never knew FATAL debuted in White Dwarf #1, that's some pedigree.
Fatal was a peak extreme, but my understanding isbthat a lot of people have always wanted their games that messy
