      You have to check your local regulations very carefully. In BC as part of our "fair chase" laws, you are not allowed to hunt on the same day that you fly. You can fly in to remote areas for the purpose of hunting, but you must spend the night before you even begin scouting. And you are definitely not allowed to scout for or chase animals from the air. Even if you fly on a normal commercial flight, you aren't allowed to hunt the same day, the only exception being flying out after your hunt of course.

    Loved the water landings for Scott especially when he rode up on the beaches. I put my 701 up for sale and I'm considering a newer Challenger with larger fuel tank, pontoons and maybe even the 582 for more power and strangely enough better fuel economy. I want to stick with the pusher prop tandem style plane for now. Who knows what the future will bring. Thanks for the awesome video, please send my best to Scott.

    • @mmatt
      @mmatt  7 лет назад +1

      Will do! If you do decide on the Challenger for your next plane, please look into the latest design as it has possibly corrected some of the issues the previous generation had. If you're open to suggestions on your next plane, I'd consider looking at the CGS Hawk Arrow II. Same config as the Challenger (tri-gear, high wing, pusher) and from what I've heard, a much better design all around.

      Thanks for sharing

    • @mmatt
      @mmatt  3 года назад +1

      @@vlogcity1111 The most popular method of repair for wood props is using crazy glue and baking soda. Clean out the damaged area for loose material, degrease it, apply a small amount of thin (runny) crazy glue, sprinkle in baking soda. Rinse and repeat until the damaged area is built up above the profile of the propeller and then carefully file and sand it back down to match. Paint and rebalance if desired or needed.

      I’m thinking epoxy wood filler could work as an alternative?
      It’s just epoxy with sawdust as a binder to give it enough stability to fill in chips.

      I purchased a 2 seater quicksilver mx for 1800 with floats this week.
      As well as a single pair of floats for $850cad
      Now I need a single seater Mx.

      @mmatt  3 года назад +1

      @@vlogcity1111 I've never used epoxy wood filler so I can't comment on it. Give it a try and see I guess. Just make sure to use it in a location that won't affect the flight safety should it fail.
      That price seems really low... lol
      I'd make sure it's airworthy! But if it is, that's an amazing deal. :-)

    Any way to run some hardwire power supplies to the camera mount locations and plug them all into a 2s lipo battery (which is quite small). That would put at full charge 8.4vdc available then plug the battery into a switching regulator and knock the output to 5vdc and the gopro will be happy for much longer times. Should not have any interference as the system would be divorced from the airframe. These parts are very common to the RC model flying/drone/quadcopter hobbyist. Also quite light and inexpensive.

      Thanks, how do you like the Contour? My last 2 GoPro's were junk.

      The only downside to them is the lack of video stabilization so it picks up the vibration from the engine sometimes. They could also stand to have a wider field of view. Other than that, I like them quite a bit.

      Research part 103, take away one of his seats and it would be close to legal ultralight. The one in this video you can fly with a sport pilot rating. Half the hrs of private pilot but it comes with restrictions.

      @@chadgriffith5819these are ultralights in Canada. No part 103 up here - a permit is needed (but not hard to get)

    Not in plane pictured??..maybe I'm missing something...but when I see a plane I like..I click that vid... not the same plane..so "click bait"

      The picture for the video is an actual still from the video itself. If you go to 21:17, you'll see that. So again, how is using an actual still from the video posted "click bait"...?

    You lost me with the backwoods, hillbilly "humour" and the need to pull Tim Horton's into a flying video. I gave it 30 seconds and then my stomach threatened to unload. Try to remember what interests us pilots. Thumbs down.

      The 100,000 views this video has disagrees with you. 🙂While this video may not be to your liking, I have almost 500 others. Maybe flip through a few of them and see if you change your mind. The redneck humour doesn't come out very often, I promise. lol!
