Exactly what I asked, it was just a couple of months since I received my $600 from the IRS how can they not have my information? and now direct express is not giving updates on the stimulus money, probably swamped with calls, but this isnt a new process, they just did two prior stimulus packages.
Your explanations makes sense, I wasnt sure what is going on, now it may be that social security is dragging their heels to get this done and not necessarily the fault of the IRS.
The IRS has my information from the last 2 stimulous checks. I have SSD. They're just not in a hurry for people on SSI AND SSD.

Heyyyy don't' forget in order to rec ur $600 (and esp at this late date) u can do: #1 contact IRS directly n let em knw u haven't rec'd ur 2nd pymnt n they should be able to advise wht steps/forms u need to retrieve ur 2nd stim $$ (that is, IF u can get thru to a live customer rep via ph!!), or #2 (which frankly This Should be ur first route in trying to recouping ur money.... Is to fill out or file tht IRS stimulus recovery tax on or beg 4/15 this yr so they can at least start wrkng on tracing and getting tht money to u and in the meantime "just hang in there like the rest of us" in the hopes you'll rec ur 3rd chk ($1400) soon! Hey Carmen, I called the irs I am in the same place as you are. They told me to file taxes for 2020 if I don’t normally file.
I got the 1200.00 but have not gotten anything else. I get social security check on the third wed. Of month. I am 77 yrs old can't get any straight answers my grand kids got thiers already. What a bunch of screw ups I already filed tax.

I got the $600 stimulus payment within 48 hours after President Trump signed the bill and I also received the 1st payment as well. I receive SSI and I actually received the 2nd stimulus check before anyone in my family... It doesn't make a lick of sense as to why I have not received the third check.. Thank you for all you do..😄

My issue with this is this: The IRS has all of our info from the checks in January. None of this should be dragging like it is. In all the times I have gotten checks the Get My Payment tool has never given me a date and I filed paperwork with the non filers tool last year with the irs. Something is rotten in Denmark.

Was just going to type the same thing. I think Matt’s theory may be correct. I had to file this year because I worked the early voting and they took taxes out so I filed soon as the gate opened. My roommate just filed his taxes a few weeks ago. He’s on ss abs I collect ssdi. My son however has direct express he does not do taxes and he hasn’t received anything. This seems all silly that they are still waiting when the 600 check went out we all got it the same date.

I think they have it already from the last 600 stimulus payments. But I noticed that tax filers were in the"front of the line" to get the 1400 3rd payments credirted into accounts, and some on ssdi ssi retirement have gotten 1400 today, so wait a couple more days to a week and cross fingers.

Direct Express is waiting for the IRS to release the money to them. The last I heard is that it will maybe the middle of next week.
There were very many errors done during the release of the second stimulus. So this time they may be over compensating for their F'ups from then.
My uncle is on SSI and received his payment today and he has not filed a tax return I guess he was one of the lucky ones, I was also told by social security that they are waiting for guidance from IRS..! I guess the wait will continue, Thanks for all you do!

They've got our info on file from the first two payments. All they have to do is enter in our SSDI case # and we will pop up. Would take 5 seconds, SMH.

Think about this carefully, we all got two stimulus checks, the last one being in January which was 2 months ago, so you can assume the IRS already has as much information as they gonna need, they got it. A couple of people on these comments already called Social security, and SS told them the IRS has all our information, and they (SS) have nothing to do with the stimulus checks. I've been on SSA for 16 years they know all about me nothing has changed.
I have not filed tax return in over 5 years because I am on SSDi/SSI and my income is so low I'm not required to file a tex return. But the IRS DOES have my Banking Information. The Social Security Division updated that info to them because I received both of the last two stimulu checks. Something is definitely not adding up.

I'm on SSDI. The frst two payments, I got mine within 3 to 4 days after the "first wave" started going out. It's been 3 days and I'm getting nervous. I have found the IRS Get My Payment tool to be largely useless. The last two times, the only time that IRS app acknowledged my payment was AFTER I'd received it. BTW, IRS, and SSA, thanks for shoving the disabled toward the back of the line.

The Social Security Administration doesn't handle Stimulus Check Payments. Only The IRS and Treasury department.

@@ottolite not how it works. private debt collectors can take it from your bank but not from a direct express government card. you're protected from tax debt this time you really think they'd hand it over to private debt.

If you got the two previous payments, they should already have your info on file. Makes no sense. I got the first two right payments right away and the bank let me know they were both "pending." Don't know what's going on with the third one. Smh! 😢

I still do not have my $600.00 yet. I filed my 2020 taxes Feb.21.2020. Now if I look on IRS2GO IT says not available. In paranthesis it says working on this or you are not eligible. My friend back home doesn't file a tax return and she got her $1400 stimulus check today. I'm the same way, I don't file a tax return and I didn't receive my $1400 stimulus check
Same. I got the other two with in 4 days. In fact I got the 600.on jan 1 and banks were closed.
I don't file tax. So if tax was the case, why did i get the other two so fast?
Also...my aunt files no tax return. She got her ck yesterday and the IRS tool said no info available yet her ck came

@@jackrabbit811 yes she has regular acct credit union but a slew of people with regular bank accounts ( especially Wells Fargo) did not get a ck yet if they are SS SSI SSDI or Vets

Have you tried to reach anyone at social security to see when they are going to submit our information.

I stuttered as a child, too. And sometimes when I’m upset, it comes back. I never admitted that until after I read your post. I always felt ashamed of it, especially when I was in grade school. Anyway, thanks for making me feel like I’m not alone.

What do you mean each month? They have to update info from SSA if you haven't filed taxes.
The IRS....is the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE ! The monthly payments come from SOCIAL SECURITY !!

I've been on SSI for years and haven't files taxes for years. I have direct express and I haven't received the $1,400 yet.

I get SS. Recieved the first two stimulus checks within three weeks direct deposit. They have all my information. I get SS money every month. WTF?

If some people on SSI, SSDI, RR, have already been processed to get their checks why wasn't everyone's info sent over at the same time.

I would have to disagree in regards to the IRS not having the information of those that are receiving benefits. I express this point of view as a result of having received the last two stimulus pay outs by the IRS, they have the information. Also, thank you for taking the time to do this for all of us.
Hi Matt,, So I'm on Social Security disability. I called Social Security to inquire about something else but asked about the stimulus payment. The lady told me the IRS ALREADY HAS everyone's information . The IRS already has everyone's info that has ssi, ssa, ssdi, VA, etc. SO its the IRS that's holding everything up. I still have not received a stimulus check.
IRS is not allowed to keep SS info. It has to be shredded and or destroyed after the stimulus has been sent out. After each stimulus check has been approved new info has to be sent to the IRS. Just so you know.
I filed a 2018, 2019 & now a 2020 Tax Return. I'm required to file because I receive an annuity from the State of Texas being that I am a retired State Employee. I did not receive the 2nd Stimulus payment of $600. I had to ask for the Rebate on my 2020 Tax Return. I still have not received it. Social Security has my bank information and so does the IRS. The Senior citizens are being left out and we are the ones on fixed incomes that are insufficient to live on. Shame on them.

So, if you owe the IRS.... they keep your check. They want to make sure they don’t give you a dime if you are on a payment plan with them. So ridiculous!!
Maybe a call to social security should get another phone call to get them moving with this report to the IRS so we can get our money processed sooner? Just a thought.

@@kellyanndean9374 no I haven't. I am on SSD. My sister works and has NOT filed her taxes yet but hers was in the bank "pending" last Friday. My daughter and her husband got theirs on Friday too and they work and HAVE filed their taxes. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who is first, second 🤔 or third. It's a mystery.

I don't understand why they didn't start with the one's on ssdi,and everyone that has social security direct deposit. The first stiumal check and the second check was deposited without no problem. So I know they have my information already. I think they are stalling or they are waiting for everyone to file their tex returns. I know some people are receiving there checks. I'm just 🙏 for everyone to receive there checks. I have faith in my savior that we will get them soon. God Bless everyone.🙏🙏
