Synopsis: A shocking exorcism spirals out of control, claiming the life of a young woman. Months later, Megan Reed (Shay Mitchell) is working the graveyard shift in the morgue when she takes delivery of a disfigured cadaver. Because I was so familiar with the actress (and the fact that she's such a fun person on tiktok) made it less scary. I hate scary movies and will avoid them with everything I have lol, but might watch this one because Kirby is in it lol

Honestly, normally, I can watch every single horror movie, be a little scared while watching and walk out of theaters and forget I even saw it. I don’t really get terrified. For some reason, this movie really haunts me even a day later. There was something so terrifying and nightmarish about the atmosphere and the way the cadaver looks. I think it was a really scary movie, I don’t really understand the negative reviews.

Cool! Thanks for your opinion. I’ve seen TONS of horror movies & the ones that have been released in the past 10years or so haven’t scared me much (some notable exceptions- The Conjuring original was pretty damn creepy, Sinister, Oculus, & Insidious as well as The Perfection & some other lesser known movies). Get Out, You’re Next, Us, Hereditary& Midsommar all had that lingering effect that (imho) is the mark of a good horror flick. The Ring stuck with me for a while, as did The Autopsy of Jane Doe. Solid atmosphere, tone, & pace seem to be what does it for me (with the right amount of jump scares & gore) with the movies from the past decade. I’ve seen both The Exorcism of Emilly Rose & The Autopsy of Jane Doe. Is this movie really just a mashup of the 2 pretty good movies or is it worth watching on its own? I’m asking because I continue to be disappointed & waste my time over & over again. Bleh. Not bitching, there’s been some really killer stuff.

@Parth Kapoor Sure thing! I am a drive in mutant, I love 80s slashers & weird offbeat horror that a lot of ppl don’t seem to like (except for the handful of creeps I know). For example, last night I watched The Prowler, 28 Days Later, & The Mutilator (aka Fall Break, ew!) & liked them all. But I was very entertained. Some of my favorites are Halloween (1978), Hellraiser, The Exorcist, Sleepaway Camp, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Slumber Party Massacre, Last House on the Left (both versions are scary & at times tough to watch but I lean towards Craven’s film), The Thing, Re-Animator, The Mist (yes a low budget Stephen King adaptation but I like it, & it has one of the best endings). I’m a 3rd shifter that’s very tired so I can’t think of just a few favorites w/o thinking of them all...so sleepy, but I wanted to write back. I’m not a huge fan of body horror, & things that truly scare me are human monsters, but I looooove mid 70s - early 90 slashers, haunted house & good possession movies. Really good/original movies about the supernatural are some of my very favorite, ya know, the ones w/good jump scares.I don’t really dig found footage but oddly enough I liked Unsane & I hear that was filmed w/a freaking iPhone! I do enjoy those Hell House movies & the first Blair Witch Project movie. Gore filled blood fests can be fun IF there is a reason for it. Sinister was good & the first 2 Insidious flicks had some good scares. As I’m typing this I’m watching All Hallow’s Eve on Tubi & damn!!! This movie is weird AF & the babysitter must be crazy, lol. As far as more recent movies, Midsommar did a number on me & Us did freak me out, I must admit. Oh! B4 I forget, I 🖤 the occasional really good horror/dark comedy (Satanic Panic, Mom and Dad, Shaun of the Dead, The Babysitter, ZombieLand, & The Cabin in the Woods). I’m sure I’m annoying the other you tubers, so now it’s your turn!
@Parth Kapoor Hi! I said (Fall Break ew!) because the title of ‘The Mutilator’ is a much better & accurate title for the movie. The music when the movie comes on & then the words ‘Fall Break’ being splashed on the screen almost made me move on, but I’m glad I didn’t. It was a pretty solid 80s slasher. Oh yea I like a lot of late 70s- mid 90s stuff, but I’ve seen Haunt & I thought it was pretty creepy, I mean if I put myself in that situation...damn!! And why couldn’t some freaks do that? I would’ve had to say no to giving up my phone & signing a waiver. That’s a bad combination. Oh & I agree, the sequel to Sinister was lame as hell compared to the the first one. I think they were just going for grossest ways for the kids to kill their family in the 2nd one. There are just some movies that should be left alone & not be a franchise. The Exorcist (one of the best all time horror movies everyone must see at least once) shouldn’t have had sequels either....& many other ones. I dig some current horror movies but I think that a lot of Thrillers are branded as “horror” & that’s fine. Several really great thrillers have scared the shit out of me. I 🖤 a good psychological horror movie. Like Hereditary was a bit of both horror & intense psychological thriller. I need to watch it again to catch some things that have been pointed out to me that I missed. This is random but the movie Requiem for a Dream is a severe horror movie to me, as far as how the characters lives progress (degrade) & end up by the time the credits roll. That movie had me stuck in my seat at the theater for about 5 minutes just thinking about it & being overwhelmed by the “thank God that was just a movie, but damn I bet that happens to ppl more than it should” factor. I guess that’s why human monsters scare me more than supernatural ones most of the time. Like- when Saw (just the first one) came out & I saw it in the theater...damn! Hostel, same thing. Damn!!! Totally crazy AF! But you should watch The Shining. You will enjoy it. Also, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!!! There’s a good reason they are so highly rated. They’ve influenced many directors & writers for decades & most likely will for a very long time. I’m unfortunately 100% with you on having an extremely high threshold for being truly scared. I miss it. I saw The Ring at the theater for a midnight showing with my boyfriend at that time. The premise seems so silly, but I swear that movie scared me sooooo much!!! I spent the night at his house & that shit lingered. I could barely get to sleep! It’s funny to admit that now, but that’s the type of fear I miss. Like I (think) have mentioned before, Midsommar & Us are two movies that messed me up a bit & had that linger effect. It Follows was a great creep factor movie. I was quite impressed with that one. Also, The Invitation was *awesome* imo, though again more as a thriller. But could you imagine being at that dinner party? Wow! Ok, it is about my bedtime at 6am so now it’s your turn. Hannah taking her own revenge kinda story. As they listen to their tape, they got slowly killed off. Clay survive perhaps since she didnt really blame him. Would make a great alternative storyline for Holloween special episode

Actually, I agree. There was the movie, The Possession of Michael King, and it was a really good movie. I feel that more guys should be possessed. But, then again, girls and children are more terrifying for the audience when they watch it. It gives a much more dark sense from them...

Its probably because women and children are always beautiful, and seeing them possessed all creepy and disfigured is truly horrifying.
I don’t really care what the other people would say about this movie, but for me it’s such a great movie and kinda motivate me a lot by the last few words that Megan Reed said. It boosts up my mood for 2k19.

One of my most irrational fears is there being a home invasion or something like this whilst pooping. My most vulnerable time. I'd just be like, "take what you want, but let me poop in peace."

This movie was great. I don't know why it's so underrated. Shay Mitchell gave us a great performance, just as the actress who played Hannah Grace. The plot was very simple but they managed to make it interesting. It was not as scary as "The Autopsy of Jane Doe", but it still gave me a few jump-scares.
I would totally recommend this to a horror movie fan. It's a good watch, especially if you watch it at night. It's something that does not "traumatize" you like other horror movies but still manages to keep you interested till the end.
There are also a few good phrases (I love it when in movies they say something that you involuntary keep in mind).
However, I do not recommend it if you are sensible to corpses in movies and dead people.
Overall, it's a very good movie that I would gladly watch a second time.

Probably only as much as a regular cinema camera would??? Especially with external recording, a dummy battery with external battery source.. probably wasnt even an issue considering they shot indoors, controlled temp duh!! Run the ACs while setting up the shot, and in between shots!!..

*Any full-frame camera will overheat, even those use in Hollywood, like the Arri (which uses super 35mm). A movie is made by scene, which means there will be cuts in less than 3 or 5 minutes. A movie is not made by non-stop straight recording, its not a conference or an interview, a lot of cameras start to overhear after 20 minutes mostly recording in 4K with a high bit-rates. That is how I do customer commercials, by scene. The Dr. House Season Finale was filmed entirely with Canon 5D Mark II, which was a worse camera, overheating after 7 minutes and no one trolled over it, unlike your self as a Nikon fan-boy that hate Sony, which ironically most Nikon cameras use Sony Sensor.*

Just saw The Possession of Hannah Grace and my honest opinion is....I'm not disappointed nor am I satisfied, I'm stuck in between. Its definitely creepy in some parts, the acting is ok and the movie is 1hr 26 min long.

In the lesser key of solomon, there's a demon named Beelzebub, the lord of the flies, and yes, he's the one who possessed Hannah Grace. In the scene where Meghan was inspecting her, countless amount of flies started swarming upon her after she fully opened he plastic cover, and in the scene where Hannah was chasing Meghan, she literally crawls on the walls and ceiling like a fly. So yeah, Beelzebub is the demon that possessed her....

To think this was shot on a Sony A7 2! Amazing...
This film was wayyy better than I expected it to be. Starts with the failed exorcism for some excitement, then slowly builds in it's horror. A very claustrophobic setting too.

She actually taken control of the demon..She overcame the fear and that bravery killed the demon..People basically get scared if this happens in real life (who wont) because it's unnatural and demon feed and will take advantage of your fear which makes our mind and body weak..In here she finally decided to stop being scared and that actually killed the demon..

I watched the movie on my laptop a couple of years ago. It was past midnight and I was home alone. It really creeped me out. Would recommend it to any horror movie aficionado who likes old-school horror movies.
