    Another great video! If you like the Silver Mountain Water DNA you might like L’Aventure Fraiche.
    It’s a fresher take on the SMW DNA. I love it and being an extrait de parfum, the performance is incredible.

    5 I fell in love with from the first sniff and will always have a bottle:
    1) Dior Fahrenheit - my first designer fragrance. I'll always love this stuff. One of the best summers I ever had, 2001.
    2) Armani Stronger with you intensely - this reminds me of a very happy winter a couple years back. So warm and sweet.
    3) V&R Spicebomb extreme - from the same happy winter, the moment this hit my nose, I was hooked. I actually look forward to cold days sometimes so I can throw this on again!
    4) Armani Acqua di Gio Profondo - I will never not be a happy chappy wearing this. Always liked the ADG line from the original onwards but this one hits differently. Amazing stuff.
    5) Dior Sauvage Elixir - I got given a sample from a lady at work (she's a fraghead too) and I loved it. Got Lataffa's Asad but, while there are similarities and I love them both, Sauvage wins.
    5 I learned to love:
    1) CDNIM EDP - When I first got it I was early on in the fragrance game. I heard good things about it so I took the plunge. Given how strong it was, I wasn't sure if I could pull it off or if it was for me. Took a few wears and I love the stuff. One of my most complimented smellies. Always gonna have some.
    2) Missoni Parfum Pour Homme - Smelled very generically blue at first smell. After being let down by BDC years ago, I thought meh, it's cheap, whatever. Just respray it. It took a little while but I actually came to appreciate and prefer Missoni over BDC, both smell, performance and price point. Won't run out of this stuff.
    3) Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey - Very early on in the game, I saw a bottle of this on sale for very cheap. Knowing I like the original Issey Miyake Pour Homme, I gave it a go. The smokiness and the incense really frightened me and I didn't reckon I could rock this stuff. I was wrong. Another bloody good compliment getter. Works best on a grey day, wearing dark clothes ;)
    4) Versace Eros Parfum - "Pete... you're nearly 40. What are you trying to smell like this for?!" was going through my head! I loved the smell from the get go but I was a little apprehensive on what comments I'd get at work. Pete's an idiot: ladies love it! Even a shaved headed, tattooed up maintenance manager can smell like Eros! :D
    5) Guerlain L'homme Ideal L'intense - this was a birthday present from my wife back in April. She bought it on the recommendation of the sales chick in the shop. "Oh yeah, honey, this stuff is great. What? You're not sure? Nah, I can pull this off...." Took a few wears but I can safely say I really love this one!

      Yeah, it's crazy how many fragrances I have grown into. I couldn't stand Terre d'Hermes or any vetiver for at least two years. Hated my bottle of Encre Noire and now I wear them often. Dior Homme Intense, Santal 33 and even Herod I had to grow into. It's a weird hobby that way.

    My absolute love at first sniff was Givenchy Gentleman EDP. It was intoxicatingly good to my nose. SOTD, D&G Light Blue Italian Love, it's going to be close to 40° C here in Utah today, I needed to spray something to trick my mind into thinking I'm at the beach. 🥵

    Dior Homme 2020 is fantastic, I remember I bought because it didnt have Iris, which I sometimes find overwhelming is some frags, loved it. Also the Black Beast, got it before the Frag community hyped it, damn that was powerful! Went through my first bottle in about a year, got a back up 100ml and 200ml after, it was my signature scent for almost 2 years! Great content as always!

    Even though Dior Homme 2020 and Dior Homme Sport are quite different, and I would love to have both…most seem to prefer the Sport version🤷🏻‍♂️
    As far as the CDNIM…just DON’T GET the EDT….I can barely use it for a bathroom spray. It’s been macerating for well over a year and a half, yet that harshness never goes away… Even after dry down🤮

    • @ScentsofStyle99
      @ScentsofStyle99  25 дней назад

      For many it's the first five minutes. It smells like Pledge and it's awful. I can understand where you come from if That's what you're getting. The WEIRDEST thing about this hobby though is just how subjective the sense of smell is. Genetically some people simply can't pick up certain notes and others pick up certain notes too much. It leads to serious misunderstandings between people. Unfortunately, it appears there is something in the edt that you can't tolerate and That's a shame. I'm the same way with Explorer. Sometimes I can hardly smell it on me.

    CDNIM is interesting. EDT? EDP? Parfum? Everybody raves about the Parfum LE. But there are a lot of advocates for the EDP. I do not have a sample of each so no idea. I'm thinking of getting Rayhaan Imperia. But it's mass appealing but not necessarily fragcomm worthy. It's hit and miss.

    I disagree about Montblanc being a "better quality house" when compared to Armaf. The fragrances speak for themselves. Armaf is better.

    • @ScentsofStyle99
      @ScentsofStyle99  24 дня назад +1

      No. the fragrances don't speak for themselves. Armaf LIE constantly about the notes in their fragrances and they do it all the time. Classic example is Club de Nuit Intense Man which they claim has real Ambergris, pineapple and birch. Montblanc are European, have much more stringent standards and don't list Ambergris or Pineapple in their note for Explorer. Just Ambroxin and Bergamot which, while less impressive is honest. They also pay attention to detail and don't fudge the openings the way Armaf does repeatedly. Armaf's dry downs are what they focus on at the expense of the opening because their commitment to quality just isn't the same.
