As far as I know SOX uses COBIT framework for IT controls and governance, do you mean to say that SOX leverage COSO and COBIT framework both ? if yes, then how you come up with the control objective by considering the IT environment ?
Yes, SOX is based on the Cobit framework which in turn is based on the mothership - COSO framework. The Control objectives defined is not something that I have come up with but by the governing bodies based on the overall intend of the standard and boundaries. Hope this helps.
