I am a Texas resident. My lawyer failed to appear once ON THE SAME DAY THAT THE PLAINTIFF ATTORNEYS MISSES COURT THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW. He failed me all along the way. He literally threw the case. He wanted $1800 to start defending my civil bank debt, then when I said, "Wow, I've had 3 attorneys want to charge me $3,000, $6,000 and $10,000. Instead of maintaining his price, he said, "Let's split the difference, then. I'll charge you $2,300." My eyes went wide in disbelief. I was waiting for a nonexistent punchline. That was within the first 5 to 15 minutes of meeting him for the first time. It continued on just like that. Failure after failure, non-contact after non-contact, lie after lie. He lost the case for me on last Thursday, 7 days ago. He's no longer my attorney of record. Yesterday, he said he'd represent me on appeal for almost $16,000, twice the amount of the debt. But he said it was inwinnable. Well... maybe for him. But my new attorney doesn't think so.
