It’s a pretty busy station as all Amtrak service heading out of New York that doesn’t go upstate stops here....in my opinion best times to go are in the morning between 6am and 8am, 11am and noon and again from 2:30 to roughly 4:30 for the most amount of action
The reason why the KEYSTONE was assigned as ACELA #2251, is the Regular ACELA EXPRESS Train breaks down in NYC from Boston due to pantograph Malfunction, so the KEYSTONE is now assigned as #2251 Stopping at Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, and Washington.
Actually, the second train is a trainset that is normally used for the Keystone Service route but most likely because of Acela Express trainset equipment trouble in Sunnyside yard, Amtrak assigned this train to run to Washington D.C. The conductors on the train even said it was running on the Acela Express route to D.C.
Great little selection of traction and rolling stock there. I always preferred Newark Penn to New York Penn it has that faded charm about it.
Nice work - love your shots of trains heading into and coming off the Dock Bridge!
Thanks for the lead to island model works, Joeylovestrains. Happy model railroading.
cool. Newark Penn station looks awesome. I gotta go there soon.

The second train was the Keystone from NY to Harrisburg

JoeyLovesTrains I never seen a HHP-8 before.
I missed them as well
That second train is a Keystone
Zeffers716 actually it was an Acela operating with a keystone set. Very weird and rare for this to happen.
