Alex, im impressed with how you calmly fly the kite in a strong wind and present at the same time.

This is the future of wind energy with so many advantages compared to traditional wind turbines!

Where is the generator? Generators require breaking a magnetic field with a spinning coil of copper wire. How does this kite generate electricity?

I'm almost certain this is a scam. I'm trying to audit their ideas now.

@@googlesellsmydata I'm almost certain you are wrong on this = ) Makani Wind Power has been demonstrating Kite Borne Wind Power for years. They had Alphabet (Google Parent Company) backing. This video is just demonstrating the physics/aerodynamics of the kite. When a large kite is mounted to a rotating metal drum fixed to the ground, the winding and unwinding (in a yo yo like figure 8 motion) generates a net surplus of electrical generation.

@@sghazi3075 I understand that's their claim. I just want to see how. Their technology hinges on this idea that it becomes easy to reel in when they swing the kite off to one side. I just don't personally see how that could be the case, but I also haven't put pen to paper to work out the physics.

@@googlesellsmydata My dude. I just told you that makani, a subsidiary of Google until a few months ago, was working on this for a year. They have demonstrated prototypes. The gave up because they tried to scale up quickly, but don't have the tech cost down yet. Unless you are a physics professor, your math isn't going to illuminate anything that a good faith Google search would have.
