Bogner and Friedman make the best sounding amps I've ever played through. They don't look as "cool" as a Vintage Plexi, but sound and response wise they're on top of the world in my opinion.
@@taxoconsidering Dave Friedman based his flagship amps on his original 68 Plexi, and only recently designed a modded JCM 800 circuit in his Jake E Lee amps shows that you know very little about Friedman amps.
This Bognar sounds fantastic, thank you for the demonstration of the tones. It sounds incredibly useful for any musician. The pedal options will take a minute to wrap your head around, however, once you have mastered that I would say this would be an excellent choice! Thank you Paul and James!
Very cool review! You should check out the Superlead Version of the Goldfinger, the extra Tube Gain Stage makes the Amp way more versatile, you can contral gain and volume on the Omega+ channel, so it is actually a third channel!
I eyeballed at this amp when it was just released. But I could not afford the pricetag. But this is for sure one of the best Bogners. A plexi, JCM and Fender in a small top. It's a Swiss army knife. And it sings!
I realized after buying a few Bogner amps that claim to capture the 'vintage Plexi sound', that I could just buy a vintage plexi for the same money. But I wanted more flexibility. It's hard to know for sure which era of plexi I would like the best - JTM45, '68, '72, Super Bass, Super Lead - too many choices I know little about. So, I decided to buy a Ceriatone All Access Plexi clone and I could not be happier. Firstly, the price is very attractive. Second, even though I had to wait more than 6 months for Nick to build it for me, that amp scratches every Plexi itch I could have. It can be configured as any Plexi I mentioned above - so I can audition every Plexi model and see which ones I like - without having to buy every version of the Plexi circuit. I have a Goldfinger 45 and it is, as they say in this video, a truly great sounding amp. I totally recommend buying one if you are not looking for a tight/aggressive DJent type sound (get a Rectifier). But, there are all these guys out there marketing their take on the Plexi. Think about this for a minute - the Plexi is such an iconic amp - it has been heard on countless hit albums. Do you need a boutique version of this amp when you can just cut to the chase and get a real Plexi? And, to make the case for the Ceriatone all access, this amp covers the tones of almost every production Plexi using a series of switches to change circuit components to reconfigure the amp. You can have tube or solid state rectification. It can be configured like any one of the Plexi amps I mentioned above. Anyway, you can't can't go wrong with any Bogner or Friedman. They are stellar amps. I just wanted to give you some food for thought considering that every one of these pricey boutique guys are selling the fact that they are the 'ultimate Plexi'. Well, isn't the ultimate Plexi a real Plexi?
Very nice and pleasing tones ! Absolutly fan of the Goldfinger and the Atma as well ! And by the way the Esquire sounds very nice too ^^ ! I was curious about the pickup combination
Guys, I own a GF45; please tell me you had an attenuator on or were wearing very discreet ear plugs 😂 The clean channel is RIDICULOUSLY loud, the level you guys had it on would blow windows out!! Or maybe I’m running the clean gain a bit high! It is by far the most versatile amp I’ve ever played. Took me a long time to get the sound I wanted, just because there’s a lot to work with, but once it’s dialled in, the fun never stops. Have to say, I also find the lack of another LED to distinguish which channel I’m on a bit confusing sometimes 😊 Great video!!
Paul, what's that dark telecaster with golden tron-style pickups you used in your recent tonex bulk demo pack video? (is that Lung Guitars Origin tele?) Most importantly, are those pickups in it the real trons? Or some kind of tron clones, perhaps? I reckon I better ask this question here than under one of your old vids, 'cause there's a higher chance of you answering it. I really want to know, 'cause I LOVE that sound, with your tonex captures, of course.... Thanx in advance! 😂😊❤
OK, Paul's probably busy, but I took a screenshot of that guitar and compared it's pup shape to tron and PAF pickups - and it turns out those MUST be trons in it. Just writing this 4 anyone who's curious about the same thing, as that dark masterbuilt telly in SR's Tonex pack demo video has got some unbelievable sound to it... ❤😮❤ The only question now remains WHICH tron or tron-based pickups are in there. My initial guess is either one of the hi-end Trons (original) , or the TV Jones models
Sounds really good, but, every amp you play sounds like you. I still think your best tone is the ANOverdriveReverb. I was on the Bogner Artist roster, depending on the show I still use a 101B, or a 3435/50 but of late am prefering the ANWonderlandOverdrive.
Sounds great. And i do love my Überschall Synergy Preamp module. Only the tolex pattern of 3 sperms (?) spinning... I know it is the brand look, but... nope. 🙃
Rats, I'd love to use your packs, the amps you pick are really interesting. But I use my Tone x into a clean power amp and cab. Have you considered doing versions of each pack as direct captures, without a cab?
we have considered it and there is a Soldano sp77 pack but that is a preamp, The reason we dont do it is because anyone can take a capture of an amp its the micing and speaker choice that we offer.
Shame you don't have the newer Superlead version of this amp. The '77 mode on the overdrive channel is fantastic. The overdrive channel treble control can be a bit quirky like most Bogners and IMO should be run at 6 or above. IMO you also should not run this amp into poweramp distortion on the overdrive channel. To me it starts sounding harsh and nasty when the volume goes beyond about 6. Running pure preamp gain works better.
Guys, You are motivating me Just to take a tele, strat guitar and play alone at home even I am really angry 🤬 that my mates from my band today have no time to play... Greenings!
The perfect amp would still be the Helios 100 for me-with the Friedman BE-100 Deluxe right there with it-because I always wanted a little oomph to my chime, but there is no denying how lovely the clean on the Goldfinger is.
By the name i figured, it would be based on The JTM 45, which is based on a Bassman. Hence, the Fender and Marshall vibe. But hey, i could be dead wrong
tHAT HAS TO BE ONE OFTHE BEST AMPS i'VE HEARD IN A LONG TIME...LOVE THE SOUNDOF THAT AMP. jUST TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME UNFORTUNATELY. LOVELY JUBBLY. Could you capture it for the kemper please..
Yep, the average guitar goon will happily blow $500 or better on an amp and/or cab sim pedal. Than buy a combo that comes with virtually everything for less in some cases. Strange times we're living in. It's all in their perception of what's "cool" right now. Another year down the road, and it'll be some other gimmick. I'll stick to the basics. Not much for pedals anyhow.
That's a freakingly good sounding amp! Thx for capturing it for tonex.

Kemper as well please and don't forget to do that nice Marshall that you did a few months back for the Kemper as well. Thank you in advance. ❤

fantastic sound

Sounds great. Most Bogners do.
I have the Goldfinger Superlead 45 and matching open back 2x12 cab. It is a glorious amp! What cab/speakers are you using in this demo?
I had one of these. Awesome. But now I have its upgraded version: Mesa Lonestar. 😊
🤔
This is my fav Bogner :)
How did you record the sound? Did you use a speaker cab with mics or some kind of speaker sim/IR? Thank you for letting me know.
