I think you can only get a 4.0 in regular classes. If you take all AP classes then you can definitely get higher than a 4.0, so the guy was right. At least that’s how it was when I graduated 17 years ago. An to my knowledge all schools offer some kind of AP classes or honor classes. They were college geared courses so they usually were graded at a higher scale, an sometimes the classes counted toward college credits.
