Having worked at a small gun store that deals in used firearms, I will say those Taurus PT-22 pistols actually work much better if you replace the firing pin with a higher quality aftermarket version. Also, I bought one of those Intratec Tek-22 pistols for $200 bucks several years ago and it has been one of the worst guns I've ever owned. I knew it was trash when I bought it, but it did come with several magazines and a bunch of ammo, so that made me feel slightly better.

My two favorite reviewers together! You guys offer honest and reliable reviews of things I might buy. Ok, maybe not an Atlas 2011. I’m 64 and I don’t see myself buying a $3000 helmet, $10,000 dollar NODs or preparing to surviving for months in the mountains evading a foreign military force. Thanks for keeping it real.
Interesting you led off with an ATI GSG, I've had the GSG 1911 in 22LR for a decade, it's a great gun at the price point I paid ($350-400) and has taken 1,000s of rounds as expected with a 22.
Those are some junky guns! My wife likes her Beretta .22 Bobcat tip up and it runs well until it gets really dirty, having no extractor. Hers ran so well and so accurate that I bought one too for a range toy to play with... if you want something like that which will actually work, pay the money and get the real thing. Oddly enough, like Mrgunsngear's father-in-law, I also have the Taurus .25 version and it works just fine, it's just ginormous compared to its round - another range toy purchased only because I didn't pay much for it. The Standard Manufacturing is just weird, the ATI doesn't surprise me and that Altor hose nozzle thing you couldn't pay me to shoot. Entertaining video!
I’d have to add the S&W 351PD to this list 😂. Mine had less than ten round though it before it experienced constant failure to fires, it spent over 4 months and two visits at the S&W to have the the entire frame, firing pin, and yolk replaced.

I bought a .22 AK from GSG years ago. I recall it being reliable, but the entire barrel was shrouded by a plastic shell which included the front sight post, which was not securely attached. This meant that the front sight post wobbled: it was impossible to shoot accurately with iron sights. I got rid of it and never bought another GSG.
Ive owned three tec22s, one since the late 90s, they have all been reliable. Just use good 10/22 mags. They aren't practical, but they're fun, quite collectable.
What never fails to amaze me is how these manufacturers can put these guns into production, much less release them, once they see how horribly they fail to work.
I've never shot a PT22 but it looks to be designed after the Beretta 21a, and if so it does not have an extractor. That is why you could not remove a round from the chamber by racking the slide. It just relies on chamber pressure to push the cartridge against the breach face until it can eject.
Would love to see a review on the HK MP5 .22lr pistol/rifle made by Umarex as it’s a quite reliable blowback design according to numerous reviews for under $500. Just picked one up myself and it runs well with cheap and dirty armscor precision ammo.

tec22... in the 90s, when the tec9 was all the rage, it was an accessible way to have one- and it looked wild. There were some square notes on a couple firearms at the time, I remember the remington viper with its square ejection port
The Tec-22 uses Ruger 10-22 magazines. Get some good quality extended Ruger magazines ( I like Butler Creek ). In the video the magazine was not properly seated, it feels like it is locked in but the nub on the front of the magazine is not locked into the hole in the gun's magazine well. The bottom of the bolt is pushing down on the magazine and not allowing it to lock in. Hold the gun with your left hand and use two fingers to hold the bolt tabs back so that the bolt is to the rear while you insert the magazine. You can safely experiment with how the magazine locks into place, open the top cover and remove the bolt, with the cover open insert and remove the magazine to see how it locks in and lines up when there is no pressure from the bolt. It took me years before I stumbled onto the magazine not being in the correct position. Also put some lube on the top of the bolt, because it slides against the top cover.

Both you guys are awesome by yourselves and together .Keep your videos coming you guys have pretty much the best honest reviews of stuff on you tube. Thanks again for what you do👍
I have a altor. You can get a 380 barrel for that altor. For like 40 bucks. That would help with the recoil. Also you can get a 6 inch barrel for the 9mm as well.
Without a doubt the WORST guns ever. Love seeing these two together on a video. Really entertaining!
I’ve never had issues with the Intr-Tech scorpion 22LR.
It’s always functioned well and hasn’t given me any problems/issues. Just sayin’
There is a fix for the Intratec Tec 22 that is a few simple mods and it completely fixes it. MRGNG has been doing this long enough he should know about it. I remember the fix from back in the early 90s myself. His pal H/O is a tool and hasn't been doing this very long as he proclaims to have been. I can always see right through it and him so he can't BS me about his credentials.
Ohh no my tec .22 made the list. It does suck. Ruger 10-22 mag in 10 round works much better than my 25 round !! Heart you guys
The Tec-22 looks like we have Skorpion at home.
I had a t22 that ran and fed well. Remember it was originally designed as a open bolt FA .22 and converted. T9 is in the same boat. Without all the silly laws we have more ppl would have t .22s and t9s fa.
I own two of the INTRATEC TEC-22 pistols. I found an easy way to make it function reliably. ✅ Send your malfunctioning TEC-22 to my gunshop I will will make it function reliably.
Definitely the tec22 mag, intratec mags worked fine when we had one in the 90s
to help with the tec22 feeding issues get some ruger 10/22 magazines rotary or the new bx25 should help alot
The Intertech with the original 10rd mag actually works.
Oliver Anthony on MrG&G!! Let's go!!!
Best Collab. That Altor does look like a butane lighter or a hot glue gun lol.
sure does
Each of these guns should come with a warning that says "May not fire under any condition"
Another fun and interesting video and it's great to see you two working together...
Interesting all the problems with the Taurus PT-22. I have one of the older models that is sort of gold colored and has wood grips and for the most part it functions just fine no matter what cheap ammo I feed it. Maybe I just got lucky?
Then I must’ve also ’lucked out’ as mine’s worked fine for a decade plus… 👍🏻

They are knockoff copies of Beretta 21A Bobcats in .22LR which I own 5 of them and two 950BS Jetfires in .25 ACP. They all work well and are pretty accurate little pocket pistols. Nothing to laugh at or bag on here.....
