I think there is a hierarchical relationship between the herds, but it is difficult to be sure because there is no competition for territory, for example. I believe there is a hierarchical relationship within the group, but on this island, they do not receive food from humans all at once, so there are no scenes of fighting over food. It is clear that they are essentially gentle creatures.
The scientific term for a group of monkeys is a troop. The groups will generally keep to a specific territory unless their food supply is disrupted or there is something in the area that threatens the group. Like people, the troop behavior is strongly influenced by leadership behavior. If the leaders are not violent, troops will live peacefully next to each other.
Like humans, it depends on the mother. Each individual has a different temperament as well as rank within the troop, but there is also a troop temperament. If all respect their rank within the troop and monkeys do not try to interfere with other family's young then the mother will not worry about the infants safety. Though young monkeys need to be taught social skills.

Baby monkey is so cute, mom looks very tired. Wonder how old she is. Love the video.

Very tolerant mom. Is there a herd hierarchy on the island?

@@anitasorensen9058 I thought it was troop, but kept seeing herd. Thenks.
Do the mama monkeys worry about look for their babies as much as the babies look for the mamas?
