They could still give their kids the gifts that Santa would have given them which is the part that kids really like, the gifts that Santa gives.
I never believed in santa or the tooth fairy or anything. The fact that some parents want their kids to believe in that crap baffles me.

This is kind of funny since I saw a episode of BB which had a lot of Marie-content, like, more than an usual episode. She was all like "No! The cartell is gonna kill Hank! Everybody come here", and Walt be like "Nope. Gonna stay with the car wash" (but secretly he blows up Mr Ding-Ding Salamanca and Gus.) lelz!

I suspected Santa wasn't real cause I never got anything from him (only presents directly from parents) and the way my parents pretended that he'll come was so fake but when I found out for sure it was still disappointing as I kid. the part of me that believed in him though thought he didn't come cause we didn't have a fireplace or maybe Santa didn't visit China....which made me feel so unfair.
It suddenly got heavier when she said hers husband stand on God: "If you ask him about God, he'll laugh, laugh, laugh..."

I believed in Banshees at 10 years of age. I'm not entirely sure that I still don't believe them. I'm still afraid of them at the very least. To see one of those coming at me in the middle of the night would be likely to trigger my fear response.

i'm surprised that their kids made to 10. Geez, I was 6 when the older kids at school clued me in...
I got so traumatized about this issue because I believed in Santa for so long and everybody in school laughed at me and I was so incredible mad when finally, finally after months my parents gave in and said that they lied even though I knew it already, that I decided not to do that stuff at all to my children if I will ever have children. I think it is absolutely fine not to have Santa and all that stuff. They will find something magical to believe in themselves without me being a part of that lie and illusion that will break down anyways.
I agree, I don't understand why parents don't perceive it as lying to your children. Trust issues may follow.

Idk why the daughter was upset, I would have been thrilled if my mom was the Tooth Fairy and my dad was Santa.
I stopped believing in Santa Claus and all assorted bullshit stories when I was around 6 years old after recognizing that an older cousin was playing Santa for us, underneath the white beard and get-up. My reaction was pretty much just "Huh, how about that." When I was 13 there was a chick in my class who actually still believed in Santa, until a teacher just blurted out in class "Santa Claus is utter fiction, no one at your age should believe in such fables". She literally welled up, almost started crying.

It's disappointing to realize that most actors and actresses are actually very close to their characters, and that's probably why they're chosen to interpret these characters. Real actors are actually very rare. Marie is a slightly exaggerated version of Betsy, but all the mannerism is already here. She speaks with the same voice, she looks borderline hysterical the same way.... Back in the days, I was impressed by Renee Zellweger. I watched "Bridget Jones" and I thought "wow, she's brilliant".... till I saw an interview of her and realized she actually looked stupid and talked with a stupid voice, and had that stupid smile in real life. She WAS Bridget Jones.
