    Great video & dad. It's all handy knowledge to know. The P4 is growing on me. I expect one will be in the garage soon keeping the other cars company. They do seem to be a quality drive, comfortable. You look very happy cruising around 😀.

    I am stoked you are uploading these videos. You are braver than I to travel 5 hours to get an old classic like this and then drive it all the way back but that shows you the car is solid. Keep the videos coming, way better than the rubbish on TV these days. Brilliant stuff :)

    Great watching your video’s Alex! I had to comment though on your comment at the start of this one where you said best to push down rather than pull up on removing wheel nuts. I have to disagree there. When pushing down all a person has is their body weight. When pulling up (keeping one’s back straight) you can exert much greater force. I once came to the aid of a woman who was in the process of changing a flat tyre but could not remove the bolts by the using the very process you mentioned. But when I told her to pull up instead she was able to remove them as you can apply a greater force than your own body weight. She was a slight individual but sound advice if stranded!

    A Job I need to do on "Humphrey" I will look on line for the lube but wondered where you got the syringe? Useful and simple way to do the top up. Thanks for sharing not just informative but encouraging for "novice" owners like me.

      I put a link for the lube in the video description . The syringe I picked up at an Autojumble... You should be able to find one online. For thinner oils (I use one for my ATF) a turkey baster is an excellent tool aswell 😄👍🏻

    What made you go for a P4 Alex is it just because of the Rover connection or something else , cos for me out of all the Rovers that's the one I find not so pretty I don't dislike it but I find it looks Awkward and Old, just wanting you to tell me what appeals to you 😊👍

    • @Alexsassets
      @Alexsassets  3 года назад +4

      Well.... I have a P6..... The P5s are really expensive and cheap ones are rotten.
      I wanted something with wood inside, but also something I can use daily with a good / easy to get parts for. I sat in one at a show and I liked it. Liked the bench seat and wanted to stay in "the rover world" lol . I think it's a good affordable daily classic. Strong and reliable. Easy to work on.
      And I think she's pretty. 😋 X

      @@Alexsassets Yep that makes sense Alex i must admit the inside I do really like 👌it reminds me of the old Jags as you say wood and leather really nice and a bench seat , The P5 yes that's a beautiful machine but as you say they command a price unfortunately ,and the coupe would be my choice if i had the money 🤔

    What’s the reason for filling it through the wrong hole if you don’t mind me asking? They usually take EP90, is the grease as good? :)

    • @Alexsassets
      @Alexsassets  3 года назад

      The hole at the top is for filling easier . The side hole is a good level indicator. If it comes out the side it's full.
      I was recommended that "oil" (it's not grease) by a friend who uses P4s daily and races one.
      Grease is harmful to the kingpins because it does not flow into where the oil can.
      The stuff I put in looks like grease, but it's actually a thick oil (less likely to leak out) but can and does get to the places grease can't get to .

      @grimbusa 3 года назад +1

      I know Ian, see you’ve edited it slightly. Didn’t mean to offend. It’s just I used to be an agent for Penrite and they call it a ‘self levelling lithium based grease’ The hole at the top is an air escape hole officially. Always interesting to get others take on product use :)
