The Feeds maintainer here. Well explained!
16:39 I see that the "Replace" option is still there. I believe it does nothing different in the modern Drupal version, I probably should remove it sometime. It used to work differently in the D6 version I believe, where skipping the hooks essentially meant that it erased all fields from an entity (even the ones not mapped to) and therefore it was called "Replace". I think that the option should no longer exist in the modern Drupal version and even for the D7 version I believe it isn't that useful.
11:10 I plan to release a stable release of Feeds this January. As for Tamper, I've set the goal to move that to the beta stage in the coming months and hopefully get that one to stable this year. I'm aiming for the first half of this year, but probably other things will come up every now and then, so not sure how realistic that goal would be.
11:30 Thank you calling Feeds Log great. 😀While a lot of Feeds already existed when I started to develop it further, Feeds Log was made from zero by me, so I'm quite proud of that. It can potentially produce a huge amount of data (if you import very large data sets), so be aware of that. That's why you have the option to disable logging per feed type and even per feed.
