I started inline skating at age 70. Love it! Fell down a lot the first years learning, but did not give up. Wear pads which help to keep from getting injured. It has helped my balance and strengthened my leg muscles. Stopping is one area I am still working on. Your video gives me encouragement. I turn 75 in March.
I just started inline skating after more than twelve years. I notice I'm having trouble with stopping so I'm practising that and it's actually comforting to even see pros falling during practise. Makes me feel a little less like a total dork and more motivated to keep going. Merci beaucoup!!😁
Hey Tiago- great choice for an editor. I can definitely see the ice skating in Allen it’s very obvious. It should make learning inline skating much easier although so far it hasn’t worked for me. Must be because I’m much older & haven’t I’ve skated since childhood. I have a real balance problem but I’m not giving up! 👍☮️🌞💕
You're inspirational man, this reminded me of me. I was first taken ice skating at 7 years old, instantly fell in love, then tried rollerblades around 12 years old and fell in love harder, but I hadn't skated in... maybe 8 or 9 years. But I just got a brand new pair of SEBA skates and your channel has really helped me get my sea legs back fast! Can I just say... Do you know, when you say "French Inline Skater" really fast, it sounds like "French Land Skater" and it actually makes perfect sense! Is that on purpose? Or are you accidentally a genius? :D
Aye bro you should do more videos like this I’m not much of a urban skater or a slalom skater but it’s really cool I would love too see more videos of you doing slalom or urban skate
Nice video and nice location with good smooth surface! 😃👍 6 years not skating? In that young age? 😎 I re-started skating in the age of 49 after 22 years without inlineskating and ice skating after 33+ years. 🤣 Tiago, what wheel hardness do you use with your lightweight body?
So I just got a pair of skates that have three wheels and I’m trying to learn how to do crossovers and jump could you make a video on that like for the beginner beginners lol I love your content you are an amazing you are what inspired me To get a pair of skates of my own
Hello Tiago, I am looking to upgrade my skates. I currently have the Oxelo mf500 and I am thinking of getting seba SX boot first then go for wizard frame in the future. What would you suggest?
@Derek Simmons thanks for the recommendation I am now looking to get the Flying eagle f6s. When you say 100mm and 110mm wheels do you mean the Flying eagle skates? I can't seem to find one as the f6s is 80mmx4.
@Derek Simmons again thank you Derek, you've been very helpful and I will definitely take note of the info you gave me. I would probably get the f6s the only problem I have is on how to get a pair. Do you have any recommended link I can go to? I tried their website through the link I saw on their Facebook page but the website seems sketchy for me. 😂 I don't get to pick a size. Apparently f6s is on sale 126 USD. By the way I am located in the Philippines.
Hello Tiago, I love your videos and want to try the inline skates. I really need your help in deciding to buy a new inline skate. I am going the buy the oxelo 500 and i am very confused about what size i should buy. I am stuck between size US 42 and US 43. please help , how fit the skates should be ? 42 is pretty fit to me but on 43 i feel my foot thumb has free space to wiggle. i am thinking size 42 will break in perfect with time and 43 would get somewhat loose. please help me tiago !!!
What do you think of Bauer skates ? i want to start skating this year i have been going to the icehouse in my town for many years and i have bauer ice skates and they feel great, should i just start with some bauer skates or are they not as reliable as the ones you showed in the beginners shoe guide video ? help me pls XD
QUESTION? Hey Tiago! I was wonder how much of a difference a raised heel inline skates has compared to a flat heel inline skate. I have short achilles tendons so it’s hard to bend my knees without my heel coming up off the ground. Can you recommend me some skates or heel inserts? Anyone?
I skated basically since I could walk, nothing fancy and only at a rink, up until I was about 9 or 10 because I moved states and there wasn't a rink within an hour of driving, also my entire city was basically on a hill. But I moved again recently and I really miss skating, but there isn't a rink in literally the entire state, no joke, so I wanted to get skates for outdoors. But whenever I find a good quality pair that aren't crazy expensive, I can never figure out if it'll even fit, because it will give the American size options but not say the gender, and the sizes are really different between men and women. I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I know that some brands make women versions, but does that mean that if it isn't labeled that it is for men?
Zoë-no inline skate parks where I live (KY) and can only buy a couple skates @ Dicks. Go there & try to get a general size & fit. Then measure your foot & look @ size charts for different brands from online sellers. Then try to find the skates you think are best either on an online store special or EBay but make sure they are returnable if they don’t fit. I got a reasonable new pair of starter skates for $90 free shipping from EBay & they fit great. I’m having problems finding a place to start skating alone. As an older adult I don’t want people laughing @ me when I’m falling. 🤬
Tyffantom That’s a good idea. IKEA is like 30 miles from where I live. I should drive around this weekend & find a place. I’m having difficulty getting motivated. The virus 🦠 is ruining everything. Be safe. 👍☮️🌞😷🦠
Tiago I have a question, well more like I need help butttt I want to start slalom and flow skating but I also want to do aggressive skating or at least be able to do some tricks that would be tougher on the skates so can you recommend me some skates?
hi tiago i'm not sure if you are still struggling with the magic slide but if you are than check out shaun unwin from shoptask's tutorial it's very straightforward . greetings from new york stay safe big fan tiago
I used to skates when i was kid... now that im at 28 years old i tried to give a shot i buy one nice beginner skate, Traxart Dynamix (alluminium with ABEC 7 wheels), so after 1 month praticing by myself i endup breaking up my right leg, i had to go in surgery and chill for 6 months... so now 7 months after surgery i want skate again, but im kinda afraid cuz my previous fall :(
Wherr can i buy inline skates and the gyro f2r wheels and thestorm rustproof bearings and do i ned to change the inliner or do the wheels fit on every inline skates
Ha, yes I was just thinking "how can you watch all that skating and edit the footage and not want to skate???" when he said that's pretty much what happened when he edited your "how to start inline skating" video 😜 It's always good when you inspire people to skate, I get lots of feedback from people who say they'd love to be able to skate, most are just afraid to try! or maybe they tried it and fell a few times and gave up, or they had cheap, uncomfortable skates.. It's a shame. Did you see this? m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=119302702915671&id=111693967009878 I wish that had been around when I was a kid learning to skate
I don't know if anyone is reading this, but there I go. I'm visiting Paris on March and I would love to meet someone to skate or to visit the city with. If anyone is interested (or knows how can I contact someone) please let me know!

If he likes to skate on ice. You should give him some rockered skates. Its a very similar sensation.
