My Father served on Rochester and several other Baltimore class ships, Particularly Columbus, before and after conversion to missile boats. He spoke highly of the experience until his passing at 85 so I have a soft spot for these boats.
Technically if we're being pedantic, Rochester is an Oregon City-class but other than a more efficient superstructure and trunked funnels they're mostly identical with the same armour and guns, altho I think Rochester & Albany were upgraded with 3"/50 twins in place of their 40mm Bofors guns. Only 3 ships were completed of the class, and one fourth hull was converted into a dedicated command ship, since they wouldn't enter service before 1946 the rest that weren't as far along were cancelled since the war was over. Rochester just seems to be a better version of Anchorage to me.
He was a navigator CPO so his job didn't change across ships. Even after the last CAs went out of service and he embarked on DDs he didn't need retraining.
in-game ship info does tell you gun caliber, you have to click on it and then mouse over the shells themselves and it should tell you the caliber of the shell (and their damage, RoF, etc)
I was surprised how little you seemed to use the smoke. Not that it made much difference. As for the repeated grounding, since the subsurface remodeling it happens far too often these days. 😊❤😊
you drove through those islands like a drunk man you didn't miss a single one.
True!

Oooh! That is very cool!

Ah, true!
Was ganna day the samr
Those island physics are just the tip of the iceberg
I think the tip of the iceberg is above the water though.
lol what an epic end
He almost got me!
Thank you for the review. Like the way you explain your point of view. Please keep it going; it's different and exciting.
I appreciate that!
LOL GG man, This battle got funny at the End your reaction said it all. thank you @Aerroon take care.
The good thing about this ship is that I can get my 21 point AL Baltimore captain on her ^^
Yep!
I find that is the same issue with IJN cruisers, the range is poor and you can not shoot much at times.
Yep.
I like this Rochester even though I mostly play DDs
I reckon they could probably take a Fargo-class and make the Rochester equivalent of a Cleveland as well.
Took me about 45 mins to earn her the other day with the festive token thing. Not played yet though.
Time to do so!

I don't really mind it that much. It's just funny how it happened then. When I came the other way earlier I had no issues!
@@Aerroon There's often neither rhyme nor reason some days with this game. 😵💫
Usual WG stupidity with that underwater crabs catching your keel...
Mogami is a heavy cruiser, it does not have a heal too >_<
I think that is the norm for T8 cruisers.
Yes, it is the norm. Still doesn't make it feel better though.
Owch
This ship is literal Anchorage but worse
Kind of true. I think the AP is supposedly better?
@@Aerroon don't know it felt the same and anchorage have torps xD
Painfully slow shell
Well, that's all American heavy cruisers.
