Thanks gents for creating these videos, I am in the process of adding a wide bodykit to my RRS and it would have taken me so much longer than it has to get off all the trim without your videos. Keep posting and thanks again.
Thanks so much for this great overview. Gave me the confidence to replace the trim clips on the trim that was falling off my driver's side door. Took me all of 10 minutes!
Comment....did you know these side mouldings are so hard to get now that there are practically none left brand new in stock at distribution warehouses around the world. I should know I had to have the whole set replaced due to an accident and every time a set arrived they were flawed in some way, with transport shipping scratches on them or discoloured. I am in Australia and have had them come from the philipines warehouses and the UK warehouses and am still waiting on a one more moulding to see if is up to fitment quality standard, fingers crossed. I guess it is to be expected with a vehicle that is 14 years old. Great video chaps..Cheers!
Further update....The original mouldings from factory come with a BLACK one piece clip and you cannot buy them seperately. The white and yellow two piece clip is the Range Rover revision clip and it is USEL:ESS. Most are loose and do not hold together properly at the best of times and in fact the two parts separate with little effort causing your mouldings to potentially fall off. I have found the only way to stop this is to bond the two pieces togther with a high strength industrial glue so the clip becomes as one not two parts then it essentially acts like the original clips again. I had the whole side of my vehicles mouldings replaced and these two part clips of which many were so loose you could pull them apart with little effort had to be glued together to make the mould strong enough to stay on the car. Range Rover did a woeful job when they changed this part from the original one piece BLACK click to the two piece white and yellow clip and it has caused me no end of problems. My advice to anyone who can even get the origninal OEM mouldings anymore as they are becoming rare now is to use something like Q Bond super Glue with the graphite powder as a bonding agent to bond the two part clips together. Glue on it's own is not strong enough. As the mouldings are $100's each you really want them to try and get them to stay on your car if possible when your driving and not fall off at 100Km/h ......What an absolute mess Range Rover. Great video PowerfulUKLTD
I think the strips are left natural plastic so that when people open doors on them in the supermarket car park they do not show damage, if painted,(especially over plastic), the paint will quickly flake off and make them look tatty.
- black clips are DYC500110 - Yellow & White clips DYC101420 - Front door rubber seal CFE500680 ( same PN for LH and RH ) = Rear door rubber seal CGE500380 ( same PN for LH and RH )
I had luck getting the yellow buttons out with a claw hammer like yours. Just grab the button like it was a nail. No need to dig the paint under the flange.
Another comment for accuracy. The front passenger door they were having trouble with having to slide the panel off was not because of any other reason other that THESE were the ORIGINAL BLACK ONE PIECE factory clips and STRONG AS HELL. They usually snap off when the moulding is removed and you replace them with the white and yellow bastard clips I have mentioned before, So this video although informative is not showing you a typical removal of the mouldings from a vehicle that would come with the FACTORY mouldings. If so all the clips would be BLACK. This vehicle in my opinion has had the mouldings off before and the two BLACK clips were the only ones that SURVIVED being removed and were re used. Now you can see just how strong the BLACK clips really are. They stay behind on the door or break off. The white and yellow clips separate into the white part and yellow part left in the door. Good luck to you all.
Hi there , thank you for all your helpful videos . On my Range Rover Sport L320 year 2008 these ones are moving and I am afraid not to loose them .... I had them painted colour coded but the painter probably didn't put them properly or what it can be ? Can I order myself all those plastic clips for the front door ( driver side ) on Left hand drive Range Rover Sport. Thank you in advance.
I was wondering how you could remove the door handels, maybe an idea for a video? Oh and maybe put the Range Rover lettering just below the rear wiperblade.
Hi there question for you. What clips actually secure the trim to the body? The yellow and white ones and the black ones? Do you need to replace the yellow and white ones if they have separated as in your video? Thanks!
The yellow and white clips should clip back together but they are not expensive and may be worth replacing them - if you replace them you just fit them whole to the platic trim and the arrow head part locates into the door. The problem is removing the yellow part from the door - I usually tap them with a hammer and screwdriver to break them !
Please I didn't find this Front door rubber seal CFE500680 ( same PN for LH and RH ) Please help me where can I get it. And if you have it in your store. I can buy it from you.
