Ah yes, TRAX's strange child, and possibly the only streetcar in the world that runs entirely in a dedicated ROW. Excellent video!

Thanks. I also have another video showing the eastbound trip on the S-Line: ruclips.net/video/i_Tz-kLLH9g/видео.html
Do feel free to check it out. :)

The streetcar that doesn't run on a street, yet TRAX does have segments where it runs directly on the street. Lol.

How did you get approval to get cab access?

He's not in the cab. Siemens S70s have a railfan window.

Technically I didn't need to ask for permission to film from where I was, since I filmed from the passenger side of the glass partition separating the driver's cab from the passenger cab. Of course just to be polite I do usually give crew members a heads up. I've ran into crew members who were friendly as was the case in this video, I've also ran into very defensive crew members who forbade me from filming despite the lack of such rules. Technically you will need to ask for permission and approval to film in most transit systems if your project is commercial or if some equipments such as tripods and booms are used.
Also during this video, a new operator was at the controls of the streetcar while a more senior operator supervised him and provided feedback. They left the driver's cab door open during the trip, thus why you can hear the conversation between multiple people on board.

@@utahrailfan1946 I've also seen S70/s700s without that railfan window behind the cab. The S70/s700s operated by Seattle's SoundTransit and Portland's TriMet all lack that window. The S70s in Portland usually also have a piece of paper taped over the window on the cab door while the S700s in Seattle all have super dark tinted glass on the cab door's window.

@@Shuotography I was asking because every time I’m on a Uta vehicle, I can’t sit near the front. But that’s been since the last air show, but I tried to sit on the front of the trax and frontrunner but couldn’t.

@@mekhidub Usually if I wanna sit near the front or take a video, I will have to ask the crew. Sometimes they'll give me permission, sometimes they'll explicitly forbade me from sitting near the front or taking a video. I'm actually not quite sure whether it's down to policy or it's more of a personal thing on their end.
