Parade Memorial Groundbreaking at Grede Park

On Wednesday, May 9th, we were able to commemorate an important milestone in honoring all those impacted by the Christmas Parade Tragedy as we begin construction of the Parade Memorial at Grede Park.
Pictured are members of the Parade Memorial Commission, Family members that lost a loved one in the tragedy and members of the Dancing Grannies. We will never forget Virginia Sorenson, LeAnna Owen, Tamara Durand, Wilhelm Hospel, Jane Kulich, Jackson Sparks, the nearly 70 others who were physically injured and the thousands of others who experienced mental and emotional trauma.
The Parade Memorial at Grede Park will offer our community a beautiful space to come together, to heal, and to remember. This memorial will be an everlasting symbol of our community’s support for victims and survivors of the Parade tragedy.
The memorial is expected to be dedicated on November 21, 2024, the third anniversary of the tragedy.
