Appreciate your videos. There's a lot of work that goes into making lumber, and you're showing it here makes it clear. That belt changeout alone was plenty of hours. Do you send timber someplace for final dimensioning and drying?
Yes!! That is what we do with our grade lumber! And yes it took hours🤦♂️the belt needed tightening after it ran a couple days. And guess what it needs again🤪 have to take the cover off to get to that inside corner block bolt
Who doesn't love a nice piece of ash??😂😂😂 Big straight logs. Interesting how you guys do a lot of tree-length sawlogs. Here in New England everything is bucked for grade on the landing. The only stuff going out long is firewood logs, utility pole logs and timber frame logs. Cool video today.
Looks like one or more of the belts for the saw blade are jumping around a bit. There’s a gap between belts that comes and goes. If I had to guess I’d say it’s probably between the third and fourth belts. Not as noticeable when the blade is cutting the logs.
I have never seen a poplar with a yellowish green in the center of the log like that what kind of poplar is it , Canada were Im from what we call poplar trees are as white as the as the outer layers all the way through.
Great looking logs you've got in ,the logs you sawed produced some great looking lumber, thanks for the video keep them coming
I have plenty coming for you sir!! I can’t wait to saw this Ash for the channel!
Good sawing and video 👍 Impressive logs coming into the yard 😊
Thank you sir! It’s only wave one😬 they got rained out and the trucks couldn’t make it in

Here’s something a little different! Make sure to share it!
Very interesting video.
I love popular wood
I do too!:)
Is this what the kids call ASMR?
Uniformly sized logs make for easy sawing.
I love hitting logs that are the same size!

you guys should invest in a modern chipper.
That’s the idea for when the channel takes off😂
Fetch me some subscribers haha

Ian, would you please include some debarking footage
Absolutely
It looks like someone is making some FAS pallets somewhere with the cants you cut on the last pass. Still good boards from what I can see.

Tulip Poplar!! Timber grows and looks different everywhere!
How many back orders do you think you can fill with this load of lumber?
Are you losing a lot of ash trees to the emerald ash borer?
We lost a lot of them. Fortunately it’s run it’s course, and I’ve been seeing a lot of live ash still
Does dad run the mill
Just me. My grandpa used to but he retired
