This is amazing content. Super inspirational to see these champions work for something they believe in. We need to bridge the gap between our communities!
Some interviewees really said what I want to say. Open source movement is not only about it self, but related to the big picture of a country - the soil underneath. At least I can say Chinese Universitiues HAVE TO change their way to teach CS / SE.
Firstly we have to change the way to teach CS in college. In my experience, most CS teachers in chinese colleges don't actually code in class. And the criteria for evaluation is usually the grades in final exam, which always make students keep on doing exercises instead of coding. In one word, the CS students learn the konwledge just for EXAM.
Please make a documentary on Indian IT service sector. (I bet from the marketing point of view, your subscriber base will grow at least by 250%, if you are remotely interested in it)
Open-Source .. its biggest advantage is 'Doing Good' to others (or everyone in general). Those who don't get that, I don't think they can go too long in Open-source.
you've pointed it out by yourself, "keywords" are easy to learn but sentences, grammar and official document is not that easy... not to say it costs more time to read in a second language. I can read in English but still need Chinese materials as an assistance.
Most people just learn the keywords, and besides, most people who work in software or people who can afford an education or could afford somewhat of a good education know English somewhat well, though it is definitely far from universal. The main reason Chinese people have trouble learning English is the grammar, which is non-existent in programming and developing, which is why they can be pretty bad at English, but still good at programming . I’ve seen plenty of Chinese people who have tried to learn English their whole life but still can’t figure out grammar , especially in speech.

Who’s the last promotion girl🥺 so attractive
if they do not learn English, how are they understanding the keywords in programming language which is in English?
you've pointed it out by yourself, "keywords" are easy to learn but sentences, grammar and official document is not that easy... not to say it costs more time to read in a second language. I can read in English but still need Chinese materials as an assistance.
They learn the keywards only?
