I've been listening to my pair of B100s for a week now. I have them paired to KEF LS50 Metas with an SVS SB-3000 to bolster the bottom end. I happen to also be using a Freya+ preamp (with quad Linlai E-6SN7 tubes) and I find this setup to be absolutely superb. Despite the LS50 Metas being known to not be particularly easy to drive for standmounts, I feel the B100s have sufficient power to push a clean, balanced sound from the LS50 Metas without struggling at all. Perfect for LS50 Metas, maybe not bigger speakers like the first pair of SVS floorstanders in your review. The B100s replace a pair of Fosi ZA3s rolled with Burson V7 Vivid op-amps in my chain and those Fosis will not be going back in. The presentation just feels more natural and transparent with the B100s in a way that the ZA3s cannot match. For LS50 Metas, the extra power of the ZA3s isn't needed. I also found the Medium gain setting to be the right gain for the LS50 Metas.
Thank you again Tharbamar for another great review of interesting products like Mogami coaxial speaker cable. Do you think this Topping B100 power amps would be stable at 3.1 Ohm minimum impedance floorstanders (audiophonics says its for more than 4 Ohm minimum impedance)? thank you
Hello, sir! I'd like to recommend you audition the PSB Alpha T20 minitowers. They're terrible right out of the box but if you replace the bridge plates with dedicated speaker jumpers, plug the bass ports, and pull them off the wall, they can sound *really* special. I put mine up on stacked paving stones to get them about 12cm off the floor, which made the highs sound a lot better integrated. Very affordable full-range speakers and they're easy to handle because as floor-standers go they are very light.
Agreed- I've not done the modifications you've done, but I love my T20s. Best metal dome tweeter I've heard.. They lean to full, warm sound. Fantastic for the $.
I saw the svs ultra evo! I am very curious what your experience is. I have the b200 for 3 weeks now with the new Focal evo x 2 and it sounds really good. The only speaker that made the decision difficult for the focal was the svs titan or tower. In the Netherlands prices of svs are much higher then in the US. So €5000 for a pair of titans. And the focal evo x n2 i bought for €2700 Thanks for all your informative and pleasant video's.
Thank you for this review . Do you think it will be better in hifi than a denon avr 1802 from the 2000s? which I already like. Or will a PA5 II topping already be much better than the old Denon?
Which is the best between a pair of these Topping b100 vs a single Topping pa7 plus? The sound impression demo of pa7 plus was likely a bit more impressive to me, soundstage was enormous, good heft and dynamics. These less so? I will use the power amp with a mojo 2 dac, little dot tube amp and fyne audio f501 speakers. What do you think. Will it beat my current Hegel h95 amp?
Thank you for the review. Very interesting! One question: how did you connect the trigger out from the WiiM Ultra to both of the B100s? What kind of a cable did you use and did the connection require some additional splitters or something? Thank you very much!
Why do I get the feeling That these should really be used with small bookshelf speakers and a powered sub? I think they're clean sounding but will be light in the base department. I could also see these as amp modules for surround sound systems where you want amplification close to the speakers. I think an add on review of these with quality small speakers is a must in this case.
When the B200 is clean, but light sounding the even weaker PSU will give the same result or less low end. If your speakers are very efficient and lean firmly to the warmer side this might be a great buy.
It's great they brought out a lower priced pair, but the market is becoming saturated with midi mono blocks . If your looking at this price range I would go Sabaj A30a with dac dsp and bass management and probably more power . (yes I have one and it's my best buy for years)
Well, I'm glad these companies are finally offering stand alone mono-amps. The Emotiva BasX A2 and Onkyo M-5010 are less expensive and offer greater output power. I don't understand why there isn't one company which delivers a product that renders at least 50w x 2 for around $400 a unit.
I agree, I'm running the Onkyo M-5010 with an OSD Preamp that was only $130 and a Topping D50 III Dac and some PSB Imagine B speakers... the sound is amazing. The power the Onkyo puts out is impressive.

Get a Vidar 2. 100W/channel and perfectly doubles to 200W/channel into 4 ohms. It’ll have no problem driving Maggie’s. I’m driving a pair of .7s with mine.
Fosi V3 Mono with separate 48V power supplies is a safer bet. My dad is using those to drive his LRS+. He has a REL subwoofer to bolster the bottom end.
@@EddNog No they are not a better bet at all. Fosi V3 mono are lacking both in sound depth,, midrange and the bottom end. Even with the 48V 5A psu per each amp they come short vs all of the above mentioned.. Cheap and decent for nearfield listening on easily driven speakers. That's what they do well. So tired of V3 overhyping now. I have them..
I too hope you're having a wonderful time!
Now this is a real game changer for a lot of systems...perfect for the new Schiit Saga.
I was thinking the same thing. I have one on order!

I just got the V3s to bi-amp my 15" woofers.
Good sound. Your Pioneer TAD S-1EX tend to have more bass in your other demos so I guess the Toppings are "failing" there.

Mostly in clarity and background PA5 II will be better, as always sound is subjective.

It’s more to do with paring DAC than Amps, I would go with B100 personally.

Good for hungry bookshelf or efficient tower. but pretty limiting IMO, but a nice product for the right speaker

A30a noise control is pretty much in lower range, nowadays power is cheap, refinement and noise control is most important in great sounding setups.
