Being a long snapper is far from being "lame" if you think long term wear and tear on the body, plus you don't need to learn an encyclopedia of a playbook to see the field. You are also protected by the refs. Basically, you can't be hit as soon as you snap the ball or else penalized. Practice doesn't beat you up. Plus, if you're really good at it like this guy here in the video, you make bank! It's not a bad business decision for long-term stability to play in the league for a long time. And I played OT growing up and DE in high school. Wish I got involved in the position myself tbh.
